Is this guy still in business?? Has anyone stop by to get his autograph?? He teaches martial arts? WOW!!!
What is the plural of Ninja?
Ninji?
Actually, in Japanese the singluar is the plural: 1 ninja; 2 ninja; 3 ninja; etc.
In the old days the term was shinobi [shee-no-bee]; it uses the same kanji as “nin” which means “patience/endure”.
Another term is “metsuke” [meh= eye; tsuke = attach — one who spies] … but that was really a “civil servant” involved in official espionage.

That video is priceless.
And Elvis wasn’t a Ninja.
This picture is the one White claims to have taken “after rappelling down a cliff”.
Unfortunately for the LSoS, that picture is known to have been taken on October 23, 1962, by a US Navy low-level recon mission. It is a photograph of San Cristobal MRBM site no. 1. The mission was led by Commander William Ecker. It’s part of the Dino A. Brugioni collection at the National Security Archive.
See photo 21 at this link:
http://www2.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/nsa/cuba_mis_cri/photos.htm
First thing I thought when I saw the picture. That was done by a recon jet, not some “ninja” on a cliff. I’ve seen it before, too. What an idiot; using a known photo as his “proof”.
So looking at the angle and field of view, that cliff he’s talking about must be at least 1500 feet high, and right next to the site. Funny how GoogleEarth seems to have entirely missed such a prominent topographical feature!
Because this absolutely could not have been taken by an oblique-angle camera mounted on an RF-8 Crusader making a high-speed, low-altitude recon pass! No way, no how!
/sarc (in case anybody wasn’t sure)
Ron White you LSOS. Look up “Dentist” in the phone book and make an appointment you gap toothed phony.
He’s waiting for dental coverage to be added to ObamaCare’s and/or Medicaid’s mandatory coverages.
He is in Florida.
Wow.
I wonder who he works for?
All-Points Logistics?
I would like to smash his face with an ax handle.
Were the SEALS even in existence at the time of this photo? Christ, I was in grade school at this time and remember that this picture was taken by a recon jet. How stupid could this douchebag be?
Judging by those choppers that look like Nicorette gum pieces, he should have rappelled into a dentist office instead.
And, I bow in awe to Shipley’s hair, true perfection indeed.
The first two SEAL teams were formed in January of 1962, so yes, but no way this dentally-impaired “person” was ever among them.
Reportedly, the first SEAL operational missions were indeed against Cuba not long after the first SEAL teams were formed. They reportedly did beach recon and assisted in inserting a CIA agent who did take photos – of missiles being unloaded at dockside, NOT of San Cristobal Site 1.
Wikipedia cites Roy Boehm’s “First Seal” as the source for this info. Haven’t read it personally, so I can’t vouch for the correctness of the citation.
Did USA Today ever print a retraction about this POS?
to answer my own question:
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2013/01/09/corrections-clarifications/1821023/
“News: A video shared by Gannett broadcast partner KSDK, about Missouri resident Ronald White’s account of meeting John F. Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, was removed because it mischaracterized White’s affiliation with the Navy SEALs. White has shared with KSDK that he was a part of a Navy SEAL mission, but he is not a former SEAL.”
*mischaracterized* ummmm, sure.
Serious question: Does anyone know of the actual location of that photo? I would be interested to use Google Earth to survey the elevation of the surrounding terrain to see if there is even any mountain anywhere near that place… To my untrained eye, it does not look very mountainous. (Though I could be wrong.)
Geetwillikers: lat/long is given on the photo as 22 40’N 83 18’W. Not sure if that’s close enough to help or not.
A quick look of the lat/long using Google maps does show some hills about 1 mi N of that lat/long. W/o access to a topo map, I can’t tell whether they’re steep enough to disprove his claims outright.
Thanks Hondo – I have no idea why I care so much about this, but I have wasted a good 45 mins figuring out the following using Google Earth:
Standing right on that lat\long (22 40′N 83 18′W), the elevation is 95 meters. Just about due north, there are two steep faces that top out at around 469 meters. I measured distance from that actual point on the ground to the tops of what looked to be the steeper hill. From 22 40′N 83 18′W to the eastern hilltop (facing north) is 1836.79 meters. If my rusty algebra (or is it geometry?) is correct, that gives us an average slope of about 19% from the valley floor to the most likely vantage point. (I never made it to trigonometry, so don’t even ask me to convert that slope into an angle…)
Which, if you happened to be dangling from a cliff and taking a picture, would be precisely your angle of view, right? (Or slightly less, depending on how far down the cliff you have rappelled to take your pictures…) So let’s say (just for the sake of argument, mind you…) that you have a badass camera with a telephoto lens long enough to get that kind of definition from over a mile away. Would that produce anything close to the angle of that photograph?
Now, let me state again – this is all done out of idle curiosity. The hour of my employer’s time that I wasted figuring all of this out is moot once you read the actual accounts OF THE FREAKING PEOPLE ON THE PLANE THAT TOOK THAT PICTURE.
But it was a nice break from the usual grind. I would be interested to hear anyone else’s take on it.
PS: I am emailing Jonn a screen shot of my estimated locations – he can post that here if he is so inclined. I don’t have a photobucket or flikr account to use to post a link.
Once again – I am not an intel analyst, and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night… but if I have found the correct place, there are some mountains that are about 400m in elevation a couple of miles from San Cristobal proper. How that relates to the actual location of Site 1 I have no idea, but I may continue to look for more info on that.
Note: at this point, I am not trying to prove or disprove any established (or fabricated…) history – I am just curious.

“1954
Ron started his long career (60 years, as of 2014) as a boxer at 9 years old, in North St. Louis city. He worked out at Optimist Boys Club and Turners Hall. Sponsored by the famous “Crowns Candy Shop” where Ron washed dishes and mopped floors as a kid to earn money. Ron will tell you, he was a terrible boxer with an amateur record of 123 fights total over 8 years, only 48 wins and 75 losses. However, his claim to fame was that he was not only never knocked out but was never knocked off his feet. The sports writers of the day loved it. As one of the St. Louis Post Dispatch writers said in the last article written about Ron as a boxer, “He was not the best boxer we ever saw but he sure had a lot of heart!” He got the hell beat out of him and would be right back the next week!
May 25, 1962
Ron arrived in the
Great Lakes for training.
20th – 24th 1962
I cannot remember
the EXACT dates but
I believe this is
correct.
Ron had begun training in Martial Arts while stationed with Jim Hughes at New London’s Submarine base that same year until his TAD orders came in. When he returned he continued training with Mr. Hughes. Ron was what was called a “Photographer striker”, that’s the same as an apprentice. He worked in the Photo Lab every day. If you acheive the rank of E-4 or higher then you become a Photographers MATE.
His love of the excitement he felt every time he entered the “Squared circle” continued in to his Navy days. At the tender age of 17 years and 5 months he showed his “No Fear” attitude. Ron, being a photographer, a closed rate at the time, was trained at the photo lab at the Sub base. He had a Top Secret clearance. He developed pictures of the sub “THRESHER” after she sunk with all hands aboard.
He was the type to volunteer. Ron said he was NOT a SEAL but he did receive special training in SCUBA and repelling at a base in Virginia while on TAD orders. Ron was decorated with the National Defense Medal as were all Veterans Honorably Discharged. He also received the Viet Nam era medal from Governor Matt Blunt as did the other men from that era and earned the right to wear the Cold War Medalion for his service.
After serving in the
Navy in 1962, 63,
64, and 65.
Ron left the service and went to work. He knew of no Martial Arts training facilities in St. Louis at the time so he trained by himself and with his brother Ernie anyone else he could talk into training with him. There wern’t many “takers” back then because nobody really knew much about what Karate really was.
At least not until Bruce Lee became famous, then it broke out like a wild fire.
(Thanks Mr. Lee).”
That is a lot of fights.
Martial artists my ass.
Sounds to me like he took one helluva lot of shots to the head, though – even if he was never “knocked out”. Plus only God knows how many more as a “martial arts expert”.
Cumulative and repetitive head trauma at a relatively young age ain’t a good thing when it comes to long-term mental clarity.

“1975 and 1976 Guinness Hall of World Records Certificate for Bed of Nails, Most Time”
Look at the certificates. Never heard of the Guinness HALL of World Records.
Funny, I don’t see any pics of the Guinness HALL of World Records except for Ron White’s.
He has the world record for most balls gargled.
So, I decided to send off a query to the actual Guinness folks:
Can you authenticate this man’s claim?
http://www.rondwhite.com/photo.html
The last two photos purport to be certificates for Bed of Nails, Most Time, and Bed of Nails, Most Weight – however, I could not find entries for either of these on your website.
Thanks!

Hi –
Judging on those photos, it appears that those certificates were issued by a Guinness “Hall” of Records for achievements accomplished specifically at that location at the time. The achievements referenced are not recognized as Guinness World Records titles.

That is all…
And I quote:
“nobody really knew much about what Karate really was.
At least not until Bruce Lee became famous, then it broke out like a wild fire.”
Slap my face and call me cornpone, but didn’t Bruce Lee practice Kung Fu?
Just unfucking believable! They keep getting better and better.
I swear, one day we’re going to see the Shipley’s on TV with their own reality show….they’re both funny as hell!
The dude has delusions of grandeur no doubt.
I found this on the interwebs, is this a legit document? It says he was inducted into the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame the same year as Jeff Speakman.
http://www.unitedstatesmartialartshalloffame.com/2012_Inductees.pdf
Ron White must be a fairly common name. Maybe the Martial Arts Hall of Fame was inducting Ron White, the comedian. His tag line is “You can’t fix stupid”, which applies a lot around here.
Makes wonder who to be more pissed at, the phony fake fuck or the news reporters that get duped into airing such incredulous bullshit stories?
BTW, love the quote by Don Shipley “we didn’t raise the thing to be a fucking hunting dog”
What the hell kind of chemicals are photographers exposed to that make some, not all just the ones with bad teeth and hair, tell such outrageous lies about their service and that they took known and famous photos?
Ex-PH2 – I know you are cussing up a storm right now! Call me if you need to. Hehe!
Valkyrie, I’m good.
We dissected this bag of fertilizer several months ago with assorted facts about the Cuban missile crisis, as in those who were actually there, what kind of planes were used – e.g.,, two U2s, one shot down, pilot killed – and got the USATurdday story retracted, so this is a rehash.
But if this sack of mileytwerks is still hawking the crackstory, he needs a good blast from Senior Chief.
I’ll just leave this here…..

LOL @ the lady sitting on the watermelon scene.
😈
Massive head splitting headache for a SEAL veteran to hear yet another phony give a whopper. 🙄
These guys take apart phony karate guys lke TAH does posers.

In the same way that valor thieves are the private peeve of many or most vets, fraudulent martial artists like this guy are mine. These guys are a cut above valor thieves because the fake techniques they peddle can and do get people killed when they get in real fights and try to use them. As a martial artist myself, I’ve seen many, many people who learned the secret badass techniques of the Shaolin ninjas, then went into a fight or a sparring tournament and found out that the forms they practiced and the sets of twenty push-ups they did that their phony-ass instructor told them made them invincible made them well-conditioned dancers and not much else. Guys like this are the lowest form of life.
Brazilian Ju Jitsu is the best single system to learn. Sadly there are phonies getting into that as well.
It isn’t just the Bushido sales phonies. Just ponder how many of the phonies here are trying to peddle their mad made up HSLD Tactikool Operateor!! Shootin Skilz to poor, unsuspecting people who just want to learn how to shoot a gun in self defense.
And how many of these Mall Ninj4s are passing off outdated techniques, myths, and sheer nonsense as the latest and greatest Tier 1 effective Street tactics?
Even Cheezy Chevy is trying to pass himself off as a gun teacher.
I wonder if that phony CPO, Danial A. Bernath, is pissed at this poser? They were both Photographers Mates after all.
We should get them together.
I cannot listen to that crapsewer. I have to turn the sound off.
I said this before, and I’ll say it again, ronwhite was not a Navy photographer. Period. His ‘sailor’ picture has him wearing green E-2 stripes (Airman Apprentice). He was NOT a designated striker, and he left the Navy as an E-3 (Airman). His entire line of crap is just that – C R A P.
There were two U-2 spy planes that did aerial recon over Cuba. They were fitted with large split format aerial film cameras that used 13×13 film. I processed and printed that kind of film in Photo “A” school at NATTU NAS Pensacola in 1967.
This asswipe did NOT carry a packet of photos to the White House from his ‘mission’. They were printed at the Naval Photographic Center at NAS Anacostia and delivered to the Pentagon on a courier run and THEN to the White House. The aerial photos that Kennedy showed at his press conference were 20×24 and 30×40 prints specially prepared for that press conference at NPC.
Anyone have any questions about this? Anyone want to argue with me?
I believe that Ex-PH2, just *buried* her 5 inch stiletto heel in Señor Whites ass, gave her ankle a little “twist” and broke it right off.
/mark it *done*
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Ass, nothing, I think she face-kicked that huckleberry douchebag eununch White and broke it off in his/its eyeball socket! Waitaminnit, why would she be wearing stiletto heels, didn’t bernutless declare her a lesbian? *ducking into low crawl VERY QUICKLY*
I like to think of Ex-PH2 a little more like this…
*Pulls pin, drops grenade….RUNS!!*

I have to confess something here.
I clicked on the Koala Men’s Swimwear ad. (Hangs head in shame.) I did not know until now that gay guys — well… DID that.
Sorry, I can’t stop laughing.
Thank you, ChipNASA. Now I know where to find a housekeeper.
And a hearty Thank You to Ex-PH2.
Argue with you? Hell no, I want to take you to dinner!
I’m waiting for my first one. Waiting for some phony to come into my goto restaurant out on the highway on a Thursday or Friday night, when people from the local base are there. A/D people get a 10% discount with ID, so they patronize the place a lot.
I will enjoy it.
Ex-PH2: not an argument, but a minor quibble. I’m pretty sure more than 2 U-2s were used during the Cuban Missile Crisis (CMC) and buildup to same. Cuba overflights during the CMC were conducted from Aug-Oct, and overflights continued for a rather long time afterwards.
While a precise count of missions is unavailable, it appears that at least 16 missions were flown prior to 23 October – with at least 10 (and likely more) flown between 15 and 22 October alone by USAF pilots flying U-2Cs/U-2Fs borrowed from the CIA. An unknown number of additional missions were obviously flown after 23 October, as Maj. Rudy Anderson was downed on 27 October 1962. (The U-2F had modifications to allow aerial refueling; the U-2C did not. Both used a more powerful engine than the USAF U-2s of the day, and thus had a higher operational ceiling. U-2 flights prior to 14 October were flown by CIA pilots.) See pp. 191-211 of
https://www.cia.gov/library/center-for-the-study-of-intelligence/csi-publications/books-and-monographs/the-cia-and-the-u-2-program-1954-1974/u2.pdf
I don’t think they did that using just two airframes – particularly using a rather fragile, precision machine like the U2F.
The U2 wasn’t the only airframe overflying Cuba during the CMC, either. RF-8s of VFP-62 repeatedly overflew Cuba on photographic missions beginning 23 October 1962, with one of them taking the photo I included above of San Cristobal Missile Site 1, in Operation Blue Moon.
http://steeljawscribe.com/2007/10/18/flightdeck-friday-rf-8-crusaders-and-blue-moon
Additionally, RF-101s of the USAF’s 363d Tactical Reconnaissance Wing also conducted multiple overflights of Cuba during he CMC, beginning at around the same time. Some accounts I’ve read indicate one RF-101A was shot down over Cuba, but I’ve not been able to find any details or official-source confirmation of this fact.
http://www.afhso.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-120823-012.pdf
Hondo, there’s a whole list of what flew over Cuban airspace leading up to the Bay of Pigs event and continuing through the missile episode.
The photographs that this dickless snotslurper shows us was done by a U-2 – which one, I don’t remember, but I think I specified it in the other thread.
Where can one find the full video with the fat ninja?
That is too funny.
