In case some of you dragging DX have not noticed, the Platoon Sergeant has returned to the fold. He brought most of himself along with him, but is still dragging his own tail somewhat, and has kindly requested that Dave Hardin the Grunch and I continue to chime in.
If you don’t throw flowers, bottles of rum, and boxes of cigars in his path as he passes, you won’t get to see the show with the dancing girls and the Bob Hope impersonator, or find out who’s on first.
As it is, I stand relieved.

1.I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved.
2.I will obey my special orders and perform all my duties in a military manner.
3.I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions to the commander of the relief.
4. I will walk my post from flank to flank, and take no shit from any rank.

Ex-PH2, “you stand relieved”? What? Once committed, you cannot simply relieve yourself, well not in the sense that you used the phrase. WE will tell you when we have had enough. Keep it coming, and await your PCS orders from the Command staff. Until then, continue the mission, sailor.

I believe you’re only allowed to chime in. Chiming out is for Navy ships – you know, the ‘six bells and all is well’ sort of thing.

We heard a USO show had arrived, so it was a mad scramble turning in weapons & ammo, grabbing clean fatigues, and cleaning up while our PSG. was busy grabbing bottles of booze.
We couldn’t wait to check out the almost all female band. Imagine our surprise when they girls were all Filipinos and not the “round eyes” that we had expected.
We laughed our asses off when they sang a particular song by Credence Clearwater Revival, “Rolling On The River”. Somehow it became “Lolling On The Liver”. Great memories.
(Falls down laughing) Good times!
Sounds like fun. Did they do any Beatles songs rike “Jello Submaline”?

I know. I don’t know what Jonn has planned for each day, or how much energy he can put into it, so I have to fly by the seat of my pants.
One thing that was made clear as crystal when Jonn was forced to absent himself for a bit was that TAH just isn’t TAH w/o him. That’s no slight whatsoever on Ex, Hardin, or anyone else that was working behind the scenes to keep this raft afloat. Unlike a shoe factory or bank where management and ownership can change w/o changing the product, this enterprise requires Jonn. He has said more than a few times that the blog is nothing w/o us but the blog is nothing w/o him either. Again, it’s no slight on anyone and if it’s taken that way I am sorry. I look forward to his wit and wisdom when he’s back fighting fit. And I’m sure I am not alone in that.
I do understand, Air Cav, but it isn’t going to turn into a blog about rescuing puppies and lost kittens. I promise.
