Greetings from Gitmo

So yeah, I made it.  About to get the incoming briefing, which better include directions on how to get to the Irish pub, because I am in dire need of a Guinness.

If we have any readers down here, give me a shout and come enjoy a frothy one with me.

What, exactly, are you there reporting on ?

Don’t engage your mirror on the other side.

  2. KSM trial starts tomorrow. I’ll be in teh courtroom at least for the first day. Probably live blog the rest of the week.

Give him a nice pulled pork sandwich from me will ya.

Sorry to hear that you are in Getmo. Which list were you on to be arrested. TSA, FBI, CIS, NSA or what. Reporter? Oh. Never mind.

TSO – I’m looking forward to your reports on KSM.

    Hang ’em high.

It’s a shame that it’s summer up here. No opportunity to thumb one’s nose at those of us in the higher latitudes who might otherwise be in snowdrifts up to our ankles.

Please stay out of trouble. I have a busy week and my ability to get you out of the brig will be limited. Other than that, have fun.

  8. Say hello to Colonel Jessup while you’re there.

Roger in Republic: shoot, send me the pulled pork sandwich. Give KSM a damn BLT or a standard hotdog instead. Or maybe a can of Vienna sausage.

Lucky bastard, theres good fishing in the bay. If you get a chance can you take a picture of the chapel and post it on here? I was baptized there many moons ago.

  11. I’ll take the BLT, especially if you make it with peppered bacon.

    You can’t handle the truth!

Because the truth is this: finding Guinness on draft is going to be a bitch down there.

Beyond thrilled you are there for the trial. Looking forward to your reports and to hearing all about your experience when you get back

I was there 1996-1999, worked up on John Paul Jones Hill when it was the Naval Security Group Activity and USMC Company Lima. The Joint Task Force just left, so the base was pretty empty.

Really, the important question is, “How’s the chow?”.

I sense a movie in the making.

Remember, if you cant find the mess hall, just follow the crowd. Its location is not listed in the SOP.

    KSM … brings back memories.

I was the CMC and on duty at the NOC in DC when he was apprehended.

I wish I could tell you about what he had on him when they kicked down the door and found him … looking like a surprized and horrorfied teenager who was just caught beating off by his father!

Let’s just say … everything but the kitchen sink!

He looks so peaceful now with his long hair and man beard, traditional clothes. Far cry from the alcohol, drugs, prostitutes, and little boys that he often used and abused!

    Ah … but times change.

    DEATH PENALTY … I SAY!

NH Sparky … Did someone say COL Jessup?
