  • In Regard to That Trek Northward

    Migrant geese

A caravan of Central American migrants attempting to reach the U.S. border took a rest break on Sunday, stopping in Tapanatepec, Mexico.

    Tepanatepec, in Oxaca, is here:

    https://www.foxnews.com/world/migrant-caravan-stops-in-mexico-same-day-mattis-says-us-military-is-deploying-resources-to-border

The news came the same day that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis announced that the military has already begun delivering countermeasures to the southern border.

The caravan, which has included as many as 7,200 people and is currently approximately 1,000 miles from the closest border crossing with the U.S., has become a major issue with less than two weeks before the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

Note that number: up to 7,200 people, not the 17,000s that were indicated elsewhere. This need to exaggerate is one of the worst characteristics of the lefterd media’s bad reporting.

The trekkers are doing about 30 miles a day now, and Hurricane Willa was threatening to exploit their difficulties by making landfall, but dwindled to a moisture source for the next USA Nor’easter.

Check Accuweather or the National Weather Service for updates on Pacific storms off the southwestern shores.

Per the article: The Mexican government says more than 1,700 people in the caravan have applied for asylum and that other people have gone home, Reuters reported on Saturday. Honduras, according to the report, says that 4,500 Honduran citizens trying to leave have recently come back to the Central American country. In addition, Reuters reports that the government of Mexico has offered jobs to some of these people but that has been turned down. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-immigration-caravan/central-american-caravan-moves-on-in-spite-of-mexico-jobs-offer-idUSKCN1N10Q8

Well, so much for the “good neighbor” thing. They get offers of jobs and say ‘No’, or they give up and go home, and they will meet with barriers set up by the U.S. military when they get to the US/Mexico border.

To summarize it: the various reports of numbers, from 8,000 to 17,000, were incorrect from the get-go. It was about 4,000 at the start, then grew to 10,000 and then drew down to the current 7,200 count. Jobs were offered to them in Mexico and were refused. Some 4,500 Hondurans have given up and gone home to Honduras. And you’ll find in the article that when someone asked the marchers to wait their turn for the sandwiches and water being handed out, those ungrateful twerps chased him and beat him up.

Nice people. My neighbors don’t act like that. They are civilized.

New York witches aim hex at Supreme Court’s Brett Kavanaugh despite death threats

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Melissa Madara was not surprised to receive death threats on Friday as her Brooklyn witchcraft store prepared to host a public hexing of newly confirmed U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh this weekend.

The planned casting of an anti-Kavanaugh spell, one of the more striking instances of politically disgruntled Americans turning to the supernatural when frustrated by democracy, has drawn backlash from some Christian groups but support from like-minded witch covens.

“It gives the people who are seeking agency a little bit of chance to have that back,” Madara said. The ritual was scheduled to be livestreamed on Facebook and Instagram at 8 p.m. EDT on Saturday (1200 GMT Sunday).

Seated at a desk phone among bird skulls and crystal balls at Catland Books, the occult shop she co-owns, Madara said the Kavanaugh hex is expected to be the most popular event the store has hosted since its 2013 opening, including spells aimed at President Donald Trump. Madara declined to provide details of what the latest ritual will entail.

More than 15,000 people who have seen Catland Books promotions on Facebook have expressed interest in attending the event, vastly exceeding the shop’s 60-person capacity.

Not everyone is a witchcraft fan. Madara said she had fielded numerous irate calls from critics, with at least one threatening violence. “Every time we host something like this there’s always people who like to call in with death threats or read us scripture,” she said.

As far as supporters go, some are sexual assault survivors still angry that the U.S. Senate confirmed Kavanaugh’s lifetime appointment to the nation’s highest court despite accusations that he had sexually assaulted multiple women.

Not to worry, counter hexes are planned across the country.

  • Amendment the 1st says….

In one of Zuckerberg’s more egregious moves, a disabled veteran who runs a conservative media outlet and spent $300,000 for ads on Facebook, and who has a very large following (over 3 million people), has been banned from Facebook along with his non-political coffee company. Click on the link to see the “not found” FB page.  https://www.facebook.com/MilitaryGradeCoffee . https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2018/10/16/facebook-deletes-disabled-veterans-page-without-warning-after-taking-300000-for-ads/ Facebook has also deleted Kolfage’s FB page for his company Military Grade Coffee.net, as shown above. The left-wing alternative media outlet Reverb Press has also been banned from Facebook. https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2018/10/19/facebook-blacklists-left-wing-site-that-praised-purge-of-infowars/ Reverb Press was just one of the hundreds of pages, which included independent news outlets, banned from Facebook and Twitter this month, such as the news page of a disabled veteran who had invested more than $300,000 in Facebook advertising. In an article published following Reverb Press’ ban, Infowars declared, “Reverb Press’s last post was on October 11th, the day of the banning, so it appears the site has been shut down. This is why you defend free speech no matter who is in the crosshairs.”  I tried the link for Reverb Press and get “not available”. Neither Kolfage nor Reverb Press’s owner has reported whether or not any money paid for advertising was returned to either of them. At this point, this appears to me to be as much an FCC matter as a First Amendment matter. I have dealt with the FCC regarding someone who said he represented my cable TV company and wanted to know if I wanted internet service. This was some time ago before I bought a computer for use at home. I told him no, that I didn’t have a computer at home, and had no use for internet service. Undaunted, he signed my name to a contract I had not agreed to and the cable company started billing me for service I didn’t have, so I contacted the FCC and filed a complaint about it, with copies of my driver’s license and other documents requiring a signature, demonstrating clearly that I had not signed any contract for internet service. It was fraud, plain and simple. RCN very quickly sent me a revised bill and gave me about 9 months’ worth of free cable TV. In my view, while Mssrs. Kolfage and Belisle (Reverb Press) have completely opposing views, they both have a valid FCC complaint against Facebook.

Either Zuckerberg ponies up and gives them what they paid for and restores their access, or they get permanent free FB ads for the remainder of FB’s existence, along with the hundreds of others whose FB pages were abruptly shut down. Zuckerberg owns Facebook, yes, but his facility is presented as a place for open communication. He doesn’t own what people say.

This falls into this time-honored category:

STULTUS EST SICUT STULTUS FACIT (Stupid is as stupid does)

The headline reads: “Naked Sailor at Busch Gardens parking lot arrested for assaulting police officer”.

    https://www.military.com/daily-news/2018/10/15/naked-sailor-assaults-police-officer-busch-gardens-parking-lot-cops-say.html

Well, but he was intoxicated with illegal drugs and alcohol, and he was buck naked, too, so there’s that. He was stationed at Norfolk, a member of the crew of the G.W. Bush.

I’m sure the sailor will get some quality down time now. No explanation for his stripping off was included, but one can speculate, of course.  Might have been attacked by bees, which would explain his going past full potato right to rhinestones. I’m sure that when he was trying to get into a stranger’s car, he was simply hoping someone could take him to a clothing resale shop. So where was his wallet?

He now has five pending arrest warrants.

And I can’t go any further without failing out of my chair, laughing and scaring the cat. I cannot recall any incident of this kind when I was in the Navy, but it was perhaps a more polite period in society back then. That could account for it.

  • Would-be looter killed trying to steal law enforcement vehicle

panama city hurricane michaelHurricane Michael: Devastation in Panama City, Florida

Fox News is reporting a man trying to steal a law enforcement vehicle was shot and killed last week, hours after Hurricane Michael roared ashore in the Florida Panhandle.

The shooting unfolded Thursday night in hard-hit Panama City, a little more than 24 hours after Michael made landfall as a Category 4 storm, WEAR-TV reported. Witness Landon Swett told the station he saw the man approach the vehicle from across the street.

“He yelled at me a little bit and said, ‘Oh, I’m looting.’ And he opened the door to the police officer’s SUV with the lights going. Got in it, shut the door,” said Swett, who added that he gathered his family and turned to go inside his house.

“As I’m crossing the doorway, I look back, I saw the officer at the passenger side, I don’t believe the door was open yet,” Sweet said. “Then I got about three more feet inside, and I heard the shot.”

A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman stated that the Florida State Fire Marshals were involved in the shooting, and added that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was investigating the incident.

Not much to investigate. Darwin grins.

  • Gore: ‘We Have a Global Emergency’

    old woodenhead

OK, the actual title is, “Gore: Jet Stream ‘Getting Loopier and Wavier,’ So ‘We Have a Global Emergency’”

Too easy. The only thing loopier and “wavier” which doesn’t mean what he thinks it means, is Gore himself and his ridiculous declarations about the weather.

Gore was parroting this week’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report in which 91 authors and editors from 40 countries concluded there’s currently a 12-year window to make “far-reaching and unprecedented changes” to avert dramatic effects of global warming. Exactly who these authors and editors are, and what qualifications they posses, was left unsaid.

Gore told PBS in an interview aired today that “the earmarks of this latest storm… are worth paying attention to.”

“Hurricane Michael intensified as it reached the coast. And that’s something relatively new,” he said. “And the reason for it is, the ocean waters are much warmer than normal, so it’s not getting cold waters churned up to weaken the storm. It just keeps on getting stronger.”

Its called the hurricane season for a reason- conditions are ripe for the formation of these super storms from June to November, just like every other year since the beginning of weather watching. The ocean waters have been warming all summer, and won’t start to cool for another month or so.

“Even without hurricanes, we get these so-called rain bombs that just devastate the places where it falls,” he said. “…Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Harvey just stayed in place for days and days and days. That’s something new too.”

Try again. Storms react to local conditions, and one stalling out is neither new nor unusual.

“And it’s because we’re beginning to see the disruption of wind currents, along with ocean currents. And so the Northern Hemisphere jet stream that normally moves these storms out to the east is getting loopier and wavier and sometimes disorganized. So this is really serious stuff. We have a global emergency. And you use a phrase like that, and some people immediately say, OK, calm down, that it can’t be that bad. But it is.”

What could possibly save us from this dire emergency?

The IPCC report said that to keep warming at 1.5°C global net emissions of carbon dioxide would need to fall by 45 percent by 2030 and be “net zero” by 2050. Guterres said “billions of trees” must be planted and coal phased out by 2050.

Carbon credits for sale, cheap! Wonder if anyone has thought through the effects of “net zero” emissions of a naturally occurring compound necessary for the survival of all the plant life on the planet?

Yeah, me neither. This drivel is brought to us by PJ Media

  • Outrage Is a Mild Word

    1967 Blizzard

The link below is to the first to two articles regarding a demand by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that a carbon tax be inflicted on the public at large so that they can milk that revenue for $122 trillion. This will be at YOUR expense and mine. The figures are in US dollars, not foreign currency. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/10/10/ipcc-demands-122-trillion-to-fight-the-global-war-on-weather/#comment-2486959

I calculated my one-month winter use of natural gas for heating the house, cooking and providing hot water, using a base usage from my monthly bills, of 155 therms in January.  One therm of energy is 96.7 cubic feet. That means that in winter, I use 14,998.5 cf or 14.9885 BTUs.

According to the per Mcf tax indicated of $1,434.00 per Mcf  (1,000 cubic feet), my gas bill for January alone would run to $21,493.51. You can look at your own gas bill, or your electric bill, which would also be taxed, and do the math yourself.

For those of you who use a vehicle to commute and run errands, if regular gas at the pump is $2.70, including taxes, the IPCC’s tax would add $249.00./gallon to the total.

I do not have that kind of income. I do not know of anyone who does, except maybe that grandstanding fraud Gore, who wants us to vote for a penguin for Congress.

There is a “bye” in the proposal that says the consumer would be on the receiving end of a rebate, but the “rebate” comes to about $2,000 per year. This will hardly cover any kind of cost to me or you or displace even a freaking cent of the staggering cost of that monthly charge to my gas bill. And that is only my gas bill.

Electricity to run the furnace, start the water heater and the stove cooktop, and light my home and run my computer isn’t included in that calculation just yet.

This link will take you to the second article, in which the author more clearly and completely provides the math for the carbon tax and the results. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/10/11/ipcc-sr1-5-carbon-tax-math/

While the IPCC’s goal line is from 2030 to 2100, it doesn’t matter if it starts tomorrow or by the beginning of the 2100. It is a fraud, and nothing else, and no one should be expected to contribute to this fraud.

I am more and more convinced that the United Nations is the most useless bunch of self-serving jerks on the planet, a group that does nothing but come up to you, the taxpayer, with its hands out for more of your income to spend on itself, and that the IPCC is a bunch of greedy, money-guzzling goons fronting the biggest fraud ever invented. I think that both of them, and especially the IPCC, should be defunded and dismissed and sent packing.

They can go pound sand up their backsides.

  • Doxxing Boy denied bail

    doxie boy

Fox News reports a former House Democratic staffer accused of posting personal information about a Republican senator online was ordered held without bail Tuesday ahead of his pending trial.

In denying Cosko bail, U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson said prosecutors had shown that no conditions could ensure the community’s safety if the suspect was released.

27-year-old Jackson Cosko has been charged with several federal and local crimes in the District of Columbia, including making public restricted personal information; threatening a witness; unlawfully accessing a government computer and burglary of a senatorial office. He pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.

Well this isn’t looking good at all for Doxxing Boy. Self-inflicted wounds hurt the most. Maybe he can cop a plea with the DA?

Naw, the lad has nothing worth swapping for a lighter sentence. Sucks to be him.
