SNOW HITS CAIRO, FIRST IN 100 YEARS…
Yeah, you read that right: Cairo – as in “Cairo, Egypt”, not Illinois.
Global warming. Yeah, that’s gotta be it. (smile)

Ewalt Shatz, a Pearl Harbor veteran was on his way to Hawai’i to take part in a ceremony on Saturday to commemorate events there 72 years ago. Well until United AIrlines bumped him from their flight because, well…you read it for yourself from Hawaii News Now;
We have received unconfirmed reports that despite telling employees that he was a veteran on his way to Hawaii for a memorial at the Arizona Memorial on December 7, a war veteran named Ewalt Shatz was bumped off of United Airlines flight 1226 from Los Angeles International Airport to Honolulu on Wednesday because the plane was overweight.
A fan, who wishes to remain nameless, has also confirmed this story for us. According to sources, the local military community got Mr. Schatz on a Hawaii Airlines flight and got him to the island on time.
I guess United is getting beat up pretty bad on Facebook and Twitter. Good, they deserve it. Mr Schatz doesn’t look all that heavy in the picture above.
This following picture was taken by our source to prove that he was there as part of the welcoming party that awaited Mr Schatz’ arrvival;

Mary sends us a link to the Cliffview Pilot which reports that NCIS has recovered more than a million bucks worth of special equipment designed to support Navy SEALs that was on it’s way to South Korea;
Police also seized camouflage parkas that the sergeant said the defendants were buying for $100 each and then re-selling for $350 to customers in South Korea.
They also found military boots — bought for $50 and sold for $300 — and wide-rimmed “boonie” hats bound for the Far East.
“The kids over there are wearing that stuff. It’s the fad,” Williams said.
The case began when agents from the Naval Criminal Investigation Service in Quantico, Va., busted a ring that was stealing and then fencing the items online.
Some of the equipment had been swiped from a Navy SEALS yard near Williamsburg, Va., Williams said.
Three thieves are awaiting trial for the caper; Jay Nusbacher, 41, Suk Dong Kim, 46, and Seong “Steve” Park, 44. I don’t know if that second guy’s name is real, though. But he should get his parents thrown in jail for saddling him with that moniker which probably made him a criminal.
Oh, a word of advice, don’t sell your stolen goods to cops – that never ends well.
Another dose of comedy news about the Puerile, Pathetic, Absurdly-Concocted Awfulness Patient Protection and “Affordable” Care Act, AKA “ObamaCare”:
And as a final, fitting symbol of ObamaCare and what it will do to the US Economy:
Obamacare Event Hands Out Free Condoms as Prizes
Of course, they might want to hurry with that last. The SCOTUS has now decided it will review the ObamaCare contraception coverage mandate.
No, I’m not kidding. No one would buy this sh!t as a practical joke.
I ran across a few more “features” of that new law called the Pathetic Plethora of Amazingly Cretinous Absurdity Patent Protection and “Affordable” Care Act, AKA ObamaCare. So I thought I’d share them with TAH’s readers.
Not much new here, really. Anyone with a bit of common sense could see these coming.
But just remember, folks – these aren’t “problems” with ObamaCare. Oh, no. There are no “problems”. These are just “features” you don’t yet understand!
Yeah, right. And I’m the freaking Emperor of China.
Most TAH readers know that the current administration is a big fan of pumping exorbitant sums into “green energy” projects as paybacks for past political support “the way to a secure future” (or some other similarly contrived but totally bogus justification). Well, we now have yet another “success story” from the green energy front.
The US Department of Energy made loan guarantees to a company called Fisker Automotive. Those loan guarantees totaled well over $500 million.
In case you’ve forgotten: Fisker Automotive is a California firm that made – yep, you guessed it – “extended-range electric vehicles”. Things didn’t go so well for them, business-wise (surprise, surprise). They declared bankruptcy in March of this year.
By that point, Fisker had received over $192 million of those taxpayer-guaranteed loans. The Federal government seized $21 million from the company earlier this year to protect its interest in the outstanding loan guarantees.
Uncle Sam has now sold the outstanding loan guarantees to a Chinese company called Hybrid Tech owned by Chinese billionaire Richard Li. The sale price for those outstanding loan guarantees? $25 million.
Fisker apparently had repaid some $7 million before going belly-up; Uncle Sam has seized $21 million, and will get $25 million from Hybrid Tech. That leaves $139 million of what Uncle Sam loaned to Fisker outstanding.
That remaining $139 million that the Federal government loaned to Fisker? Uncle Sam eats that as a loss.
It’s the biggest “green energy” fleecing of Uncle Sam financial failure since a firm called Solyndra went down the tubes a couple of years ago. Perhaps you remember that windfall boondoggle financial fiasco blatantly obvious incompetence minor incident?
Look, some degree of Federal support for R&D is one thing. But pouring literally hundreds of millions into half-baked ventures that simply aren’t anywhere near ready for prime time is a different thing entirely.
That seems to have become a pattern with the current administration. And at this point, I’m not convinced it’s simply due to incompetence either.
Yo, DoE – assuming anyone working for you actually gives a sh!t about fiscal responsibility, I’ve got a small bit of advice for them. If a technology is really “ready for prime time”, private industry will run with it and use it to make some $$$. You don’t have to fund the commercial end of it.
But if it’s not “ready for prime time”, you’re p!ssing away my tax money funding it past the R&D stage. And yeah – I got a problem with that.
I ran across this, and immediately a couple of our moderated TAH readers came to mind. I’m specifically talking about the individual previously discussed here, and the other individual who some days later commented here. Jonn currently moderates these individuals’ comments (one occasionally slips through) because in their prior comments they were acting like clueless, out-of-control, bigoted, and arrogant-without-jusification jackasses simply not being reasonable.
I think a Russian-speaker might term their original behavior “nyet kulturni”.
Enjoy and learn, you two. Just remember, if you choose to “. . . keep using that word – I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Anyway – in your honor, “gentlemen”, I present the following. IMO, this video suits you two dipstick jerks fine individuals perfectly.
If either or both of you fools/tools intelligent gentlemen are still confused and/or clueless concerning the matter – see the first link above for details. Repeat as necessary until the “light comes on” for ya.
One of the main boondoggle giveaways in features of the P!ss-Poor Abysmally-Crafted Abomination Patient Protection and “Affordable” Care Act (PPACA) is the fact that it subsidizes the cost of insurance for many. In fact, that’s one of the main ways it will screw over US taxpayers help the “poor”.
So, no one would ever take advantage of that, right? No one would ever think of understating their income so that they’d qualify for “free help”, right?
Yeah, right. Uh huh. Sure. Whatever you say, amigo. Just like everyone who gets cash income always declares 100% of that cash income on their tax returns. And just like they always send Uncle Sam their FICA and Medicare taxes from said cash income, too.
Of course this is going to be abused like hell. In fact, it already is being abused.
And the “kicker”? Some PPACA “Navigators” are advising people to do exactly that.
Yeah, folks – you read that correctly. We (US taxpayers) are actually paying people to tell people how to defraud Uncle Sam.
Don’t believe me? Then watch this video clip. And afterwards, watch this one, too. And then you can read this article. (You might want to have a barf bag handy, though.)
Sheesh.
Dunno about you, but I’m getting damned tired of seeing my tax dollars siphoned off by blatant fraud like this. And I’m royally p!ssed that the Federal government is actually paying people to help low-life a-holes certain individuals perpetrate that fraud.
