  • Marine Veteran hauled away for Facebook posts

    JP, Eagle Keeper and Spencer sent us links to a story about Brandon J. Raub, a Marine veteran who has posting Paulian, and truther crap to his Facebook Wall which has the police in Chesterfield, Virginia a little worried about him, so they took him to get him a mental evaluation at a local hospital;

    A viewer sent 8News a video which shows Raub being detained on Thursday by FBI agents and Chesterfield County police officers. Raub’s mother, who was interviewed on the “Josh Tolley Show,” expressed her view of the situation: “He was questioned about why he was making those comments…he was very calm. I wasn’t there, so I’m going off what Brandon told me. He was not read his rights. I want that to be very clear, he was NOT read his rights. He was put in the back of a Chesterfield County police car and taken away.”

    Some folks are exercised
    that a two-tour combat veteran has been carried off by the police under the direction of the FBI, and although I sympathize with the sentiment, I find it hard to feel much sympathy for him when he posts this kind of lunacy on his Facebook wall;

    On the other hand, I don’t see the FBI rounding up the James Holmes and the Jared Loughners – guys who have no military service – for their irrational behavior. I’m sure there are scads of them among the Paulians. This guy seems to have been begging for it, but nevertheless, there are plenty of civilians who have been doing the same, I have to guess. Raub has been getting hundreds of shares on his FB rantings. I wonder how many the FBI are investigating.

    Mostly, I own guns to protect my family and myself from people like Raub (and, well, zombies), so I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. And these are the same people who want to circumvent the Constitution to force us to vote for Ron Paul in November.

  • Paulians: What’s this popular vote thing you speak of?

    According to the Washington Times, Ron Paul may have ended his campaign for the presidency months ago, but his supporters are trying to make an end run around the will of the voters. Even though Paul garnered only single digits among primary voters in every state except in states in which he was one of two choices, somehow Ron Paul’s supporters think they know better than the majority who should be president;

    A federal judge this week allowed delegates supporting Mr. Paul to file an amended complaint in a case in which they accuse the Republican National Committee of manipulating the delegate allocation process.

    Judge David O. Carter did, however, grant the RNC’s motion to dismiss a previous complaint. The Paul delegates’ amended complaint is due by Aug. 20, just a week before the Republican National Convention is scheduled to begin.

    Nevertheless, Mr. Paul, though he effectively ended his campaign in May without having won the popular vote in any state, has relied on an intensely loyal cohort of followers and staffers who took advantage of sparsely attended caucuses and entered into state party organizations to expand their influence and increase his delegate count across the country.

    And then they wonder why the rest of the party thinks they’re crackpots. They claim that they’re the only ones who understand the Constitution and then they show how much they care about the Constitution by circumventing the will of the voters. Although I agree with much of Ron Paul’s domestic policy, his foreign policy is juvenile and more suited to an 18th century agrarian nation. If he suddenly became brilliant in regards to foreign policy, I still wouldn’t support him because I don’t want to be associated with the infantile jerk-offs who do. Grow the hell up, for crying out loud.

  • Ron Paul ends campaigning

    Yat Yas 1833 sent us a link to a Washington Post article which reports that Ron Paul will finally end his failed campaign. Not that he’s out of the race, mind you, he’s just not spending anymore money…probably so he’ll have enough to run for Congress.

    “Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process,” Paul wrote in an e-mail to supporters.“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”

    Yeah, so basically, the people who already sent him their money will be working for him for free in the delegate process.

    Paul supporters have successfully increased the candidate’s delegate share in multiple caucus states by flooding state conventions and mastering arcane rules. In Nevada, for example Romney won the caucus by 30 points, but Paul took 22 of 25 available delegates.

    Because that makes complete sense – manipulate the system so the Republicans can have a candidate that most Republicans won’t even vote for. If the votes aren’t there for Paul in the primaries, they won’t be there for Paul in the election, basically the Ron Paul campaign is just working to get Obama reelected.

    Paul’s backers has suggested that the delegate push is in part meant to pave the way for Paul’s son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R), to run for president one day.

    Brilliant strategy, well, if there’s still a country left for Rand to be president in the next election. Of course, there’s always the option that Adam Kokesh put forth the other day. Yeah, I don’t see any problem with that Ron Paul crowd running the country.

  • Naw, Paulians aren’t nuts at all

    Streetsweeper sends us a link to the Examiner (Not the Washington Examiner) which tells us about an Adam Kokesh podcast in which our buddy, Adam, reads an email from a fan. Rather than post yet another Adam Kokesh YouTube video, here’s how the reading went from the Examiner;

    “There is a way the nomination can be given to Ron Paul,” the email read by Kokesh said.

    “Romney needs to die,” the letter continued.

    According to the allegedly anonymous 19-year-old author of the email, the idea is more about saving America and innocent lives than ensuring a Paul nomination.

    “I don’t get a lot of emails like this,” Kokesh said, adding that he has been “privileged” to hear “various forms of this proposal put forth.”

    He went on to say that he has never endorsed or suggested such action.

    “But, I cannot deny that the thought hasn’t crossed my mind, as well as so many other libertarians and Ron Paul supporters of late,” he added.

    “Is Romney’s life equal to 500,000 innocent Iranian civilians he wants to kill,” the email asked, calling Romney a “terrorist.”

    The email’s author claimed to be planning a video highlighting the assassination of Romney “and the turn of events it could cause.”

    “The true patriot,” the email added, “would execute the ones who put the Patriot Act into place.”

    Yeah, except that Romney was never in Congress, so he had nothing to do with the Patriot Act.

    Of course, then Kokesh launched into a history lesson for his listener (singular on purpose) about how World War II could have been prevented by assassinating Hitler, because, you know Romney would be like Hitler if he was president and annex Austria. Or something.

    But, I guess the upshot of this is that Ron Paulians are perfectly rational Americans who never vocalize the incessant voices in their head. And they’re not crazy enough to broadcast their compatriots’ idiot emails on the podcast. Because, that would trigger a Secret Service investigation, wouldn’t it? I mean, Romney has a Secret Service detail, right?

  • Paul campaign refused to cooperate with Army’s investigation of Thorsen

    Sporkmaster sent us links to the Associated Press story that the Ron Paul campaign refused to cooperate with Army’s investigation of Jesse Thorsen who appeared at a Ron Paul campaign in his ACUs to endorse the candidate;

    Documents obtained by the AP indicate that the investigation was hindered by the Paul camp’s refusal to participate with the Army. According to information in the AP story, the military investigator made “numerous calls,” left many “messages and voice mails” all of which went unanswered by Paul representatives in Iowa.

    The investigator from Thorsen’s unit, the Dubuque, Iowa-based 389th Combat Engineer Battalion, Bradley Borgos, writes in a memo included in the cache of documents obtained by the AP: “Multiple attempts were made to contact the Ron Paul campaign. Further time was requested to seek out a response. Despite multiple attempts, no one from the campaign responded to my inquiries.”

    Another AP report in the Washington Post hints that this wasn’t the only incident that provoked his commander to punish Thorsen;

    The documents show Borgos recommended Thorsen be reprimanded, and that his commanders bar him from re-enlisting when his contract expires because of the violation and criminal history. Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Matthew Baker agreed to the reprimand but rejected further discipline.

    So, I’m guessing that Ron Paul only supports some of the troops, because the investigator is certainly one of the troops and executing his official duties. The Paul campaign says they’re “looking into” the situation. Yeah, no abated breath here.

  • Stein to be discharged

    MCPO NYC USN (Ret.) sends us a link to the story that Oathkeeper/Ron Paulian Michael Stein is being discharged for the Marines for his inability to stop posting his thoughts about the President and the upcoming election on a Facebook presence entitled “Armed Forces Tea Party” despite warnings from his leaders. From Fox News;

    “I love the Marine Corps, I love my job. I wish it wouldn’t have gone this way. I’m having a hard time seeing how 15 words on Facebook could have ruined my nine-year career,” he told The Associated Press.

    Gary Kreep, an attorney for Stein, said he would pursue administrative appeals within the Marine Corps but anticipates the effort will be denied. He said he planned to file an amended complaint in federal court.

    “As long as he wants to pursue this, we will be supporting him,” said Kreep, who is executive director of the United States Justice Foundation, an advocacy group.

    He can say he loves the Marine Corps, but apparently he doesn’t love it so much that he’ll follow directions. You can say anything you want, as long as you don’t use your uniform to say it. That’s two who’ve been punished this year for making statements in uniform – Jesse Thorsen and Michael Stein. Both of them were Paulians – and both thought the rules didn’t apply to them and their actions have resulted in more Power Point presentations for the rest of us. Yeah, I got one, too, a few weeks ago.

    And, yeah, his unfortunately named lawyer, Mr. Kreep, will continue to drag this through the courts as long as Stein has the means to pay…which might not be much longer.

  • Kokesh; every vote not for Ron Paul is an FU to troops

    Tommy sends us a video in which Iraq Veterans Against the War’s Adam Kokesh is still clinging to that utter bullsh*t about Ron Paul having more money donated from the military than any other candidate.

    “So when you see a campaign sign for Mitt Romney, Barack Obama or Newt Gingrich, what they’re really saying is ‘F*ck You, troops!’”

    For some reason the paulians still think that Ron Paul has a chance. They’re sending me propaganda about how they’re going to force the GOP to put Paul on the ballot either as president or vice president by being spoiled little children instead of abiding by the policy. While I’m not real happy that Romney is the candidate, the only other choice has sucked ass towards veterans in the last year or so…so we can’t do much worse.

    And Kokesh’s only argument for Paul, in regards to the military, is that Paul will never send the troops to war. He can’t even think of a good reason for sending the troops to World War Two, so, I’m guessing that al Qaeda will love a Ron Paul presidency – as much, if not more than they love the current administration.

    I’m sorry, but you were at the vets For Ron Paul Rally, just like I was, and you know the numbers of participants was anemic, at best. The amount of money that the Ron Paul campaign got from people who *said* they were in the military doesn’t matter if it doesn’t translate into votes at the ballot box. Remember even our own Soup Sandwich supports Paul.

  • TAH to Mande Wilkes; thanks for being a dick

    Jeff sends us a link to some ass wipe blog called FitsNews which purports to be conservative, but obviously, it’s not conservative when it publishes what the Left has been saying about the military for the last ten years. This woman named Mande Wilkes thinks it make her sounds smart to run down the members of the military as some privileged bunch of reprobates;

    Four scandals in four months is hardly isolated or even sporadic. At this point, it’s almost a pattern. Denying the increasing predictability of these events – blindly insisting these scandals are isolated rather than repeated – pushes aside the more interesting question.

    Yeah, almost a pattern, you air head. Four incidents in 120 days – and the last of those incidents happened more than two years ago, so how does THAT fit into your imagined pattern? So it’s four incidents in two years, isn’t it. Math is hard, isn’t it Mande?

    Why are too many U.S. troops, once part of a dignified and esteemed force, giving the finger to the whole world?

    Yeah, “too many”. Nine people out of 89,000 is too many. But wait, because nine people out of 89,000 in Afghanistan made mistakes, the queen of ditzes shows what her real f*cking problem is;

    To answer that, I take you back to any one of last autumn’s Republican presidential debates. Ron Paul (holla!) made a repeated point of casting himself as the lone warrior on stage. The only one of the major presidential candidates to have served in the military, Paul represented a dying breed: A man who was a statesman before he was a politician.

    Oh, a f*cking Paulian who, of course, thinks that being a gynecologist in the Air Force qualifies Ron Paul to be President.

    It used to be that everybody who was anybody enlisted in the military. Nowadays, everybody who’s nobody serves – a natural consequence of incentivizing service with signing bonuses, comped education, and plush pensions. Not to mention that for those in the U.S. illegally, the incentives are that much more attractive – a respectable way to root into jobs that wouldn’t otherwise be accessible.

    I’ve got your “nobodys”, you snotty, privileged piece of shit. Who paid for your college?

    So, what used to be a military made up of statesmen has devolved into a force comprised of men who have few alternatives but to enlist. Rather than the symbol of nobility it once was, military service has become almost a scarlet letter of sorts – signifying an individual of lesser resources, breeding, or ambition. Think about it … when a teenager is delinquent, where do his parents send him? To either a boarding school or a military school, depending on the family’s socioeconomic level. And when that teenager graduates, where does he go? To either a university or the military – depending, again, on the family’s finances.

    The result? Troops that more closely resemble a jail or a juvenile delinquent center than an esteemed military force.

    You ungrateful turd. The military of today is more technically proficient and requires more education than those cocksuckers who sit in their first year of college taking remedial reading and writing classes. And the military doesn’t take delinquents – ask any of the recruiters in this forum. So quit running your cockholster about things you don’t understand.

    So much for trying to attract the military vote to the Ron Paul campaign, huh, ditz? Since your boy couldn’t get the numbers in the primaries to win even a state where he was one half of the choices in the vote, you feel liberated enough to shoot down the only demographic you ass clowns targeted during the primaries.

    Sorry, have you ever been so pissed that the words won’t come out right? That’s what happened today to me with this POS woman who fancies herself a TeaParty Congressional candidate in SC’s 7th district. I have something for her ass.

    On her website she says she doesn’t think there’s any such thing as bad publicity. Let’s see how that shit works out for her.
