  • Rolling Thunder

    I know I let y’all down this year since I’m running on one leg this Memorial Day and can’t get out to get you original reportage, but luckily, Uncle Jimbo is in town this year to fill in. Here’s his video of Rolling Thunder 2009 this morning;

    Here’s my coverage of last year’s event, and from 2007.

  • DC Tea Party complete with Leftist insurgencies

    I’m sorry I took so long to get this up – the rain turned my laptop into an eight pound paperweight so here I am at home with a beer cracked open again.

    Here’s the crowd when I first got there;

    I guess there were about 500 until the rain started pouring down on us and it thinned out a bit. But there were some good signs;

    Some needed spell check;

    The pig balloons made another appearance;

    There were rumors that some of the Left were going to infiltrate the tea parties. Of course, being DC and being full of liberals, you just know the crack pots would show up to try and disrupt it. Like Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin;

    Medea had a piece of pink tape on one of her three corners that said I (heart) Fox like that’d be camoflage. I asked her if she thought her disguise was good enough;

    Then there were these clowns from MoveOn who tried to make it look as if we protesting for the rich;

    This guy made sense until he started ranting about the war;

    It was a pretty good turn out until the rain started pounding us. We saw an IVAW shirt and a few Ron Paul shirts. I didn’t get as many pictures as I normally would because of the rain, but I think I captured the mood – as dampened as it became. Surprisingly, a huge number of people stuck around. We had us a good little group of our own. TSO hooked up with LT Nixon and we ran into Hooper and 509th Bob.

    As always, there are more pictures at my Flickr PhotoStream. Age of Hooper has more pictures and videos – I especially like the “Did I do that?” sign.

  • ANSWER March on the Pentagon

    Since the sixth anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq War was the other day, ANSWER and it’s assorted affiliates of beggars, drama queens and ne’er-do-wells picked today out of the air to hold their March on the Pentagon.

    Brian Becker, the national coordinator for ANSWER said it’s important because it’s the first anti-war protest in the Post-Bush Era. So here’s the photos

    This was the most appropriate thought – a bumper sticker on the back of a coat;

  • Lafayette, LA tea party

    1stCavRVN11B sent me a slew of pictures from the Lafayette, LA (Bobby Jindall country) Tea Party yesterday so I picked out some of the best signs and put them here;

  • Washington Tea Party live blogging

    I’m at Lafayette Park, doing my photography thing. Here are some of the first pictures. I’ll be updating this post all afternoon with pictures, videos and commentary when I can.

    Joe the Plumber is here;
    Tea Party 030
    He was a big hit, but he said he was there to do interviews for Pajama Media and he did – he probably interviewed ten people between shaking everyone’s hand.

  • Playing with MovieMaker

    I was just sitting around reading a copy of a brand new book (yeah, publicity agents send me books to review these days) about Hugo Chavez and decided to make a video for you to watch and listen. It’s some of my favorite moonbat pictures of 2008 set to Santana and Steven Tyler’s version of “Just Feel Better”.

    Turn up the speakers and get a glass of rum and enjoy.

  • Zombie does SF’s Pro-Hamas event

    If you didn’t get enough of the Israel hatred from my post last Saturday, Zombie was at it again in San Francisco chronicling the anti-Israel hatred on the other coast.

    Zombie is lucky. Out in San Francisco, the protesters get to make and show their own signs. Here in DC, they have a staging area where they screen the signs. If you don’t have a media-acceptable sign, ANSWER takes it from you and gives you one of theirs;

  • Muslim attacks Jewish counter protester in DC (UPDATED) [Jonn]

    ANSWER and the Muslim American Society were at it again today in DC, this time in front of the Israeli Embassy. Of, course, you know I couldn’t resist going. Yep Brian Becker, the ANSWER national coordinator was there again calling for the arrest of George Bush and the rest of the criminals so they can answer for their “crimes”. Lord knows what they’ll do after January. It looks like they had a few hundred;
    Israel Embassy 024
    But it had the feel of a social event more than a protest;
    Israel Embassy 019
    They even had a token self-hating Jew. Just one.
    Israel Embassy 035
    See the yellow flag? It’s the Hezbollah flag – sweet crowd, huh?

    There were two counter protesters. The little guy on your right was a Lithuanian Jew who had immigrated here in 1985.

    When I went up the street to start filming the protest as it moved to the Egyptian Embassy, I kept an eye on that corner where the two counterprotesters were and I saw this guy in the white shirt hit the Lithuanian Jew;
    Israel Embassy 044
    So I scurried back down and it’s all in this video;

    I got there just in time to see a cop pinning the guy in the white shirt to the pavement.
    So this guy and I are the only two who volunteered to be witnesses for him;
    Israel Embassy 043
    That’s Alex Knepper a blogger from Race42012 in the picture above describing the incident to the local Fox Affliate newsbabe. But I’m not hoping for much. The officer who interviewed us said that “these things never go to court”. Yeah, not in DC they don’t. It was assault, they took his statement, he has two witnesses, but that’s not enough to go to trial in DC. Wonder why? Me, too.

    We’ll see if it makes the news tonight.

    There are more photos of the protest at my Flickr page.

    UPDATE: I just watched the Fox 5 newscast and they didn’t use either interview, but they did mention the incident in relation to the police officer that was injured tackling the aggressor (in my video you can see the officer struggling to stand up).
