  • Speaking of rallies

    Our buddy DanNY at Gathering of Eagles; New York sent us a link to his report of the rally in New York City this weekend to protest bringing terrorists here to give them the trial they don’t deserve. Uncle Jimbo stopped by there, too. Another buddy, El Marco, was there, too (in spirit).

    For folks in Illinois, Bev Perlson sends news of a rally against the rest of the Guantanamo detainees being brought to the Thomson Correctional Center.

    Please Join Us. Please Understand, if they come here, they will be released here, sooner or later, after your tax dollars are spent feeding them and defending them. My son fought hard to keep these butchers from hurting his family and his country, I intend to fight hard to honor his service and keep our family and our country safe. As far as I’m concerned, the line in the sand is drawn, and I stand on the side of our Soldiers and our country, not on the side of the terrorists.

    I hope you will join us next Sunday, December 13th, 1pm, at the Thompson Prison.

    Greyhawk at Mudville Gazette says that lawmakers are rallying for the SEALs in Norfolk, but I think their rally is a bit more rhetorical than physically rallying.

  • Sheehan face-to-face with reality

    Tankerbabe sends us this link to a video of a confrontation at Travis Air Force Base. First, they demean an Air Force SP who tells them to get off of Air Force property. Then when a veteran confronts them, they shove the bull horn in his face and jump up in his face. Of course they cry like little babies when he shoves them out of his face.

    If it doesn’t get your heart going first thing this morning, nothing will. Here’s the raw video without the news report.

  • San Fran Tea Party from Zombie

    Our buddy Zombie sent us a link to pictures of the 20 best signs at the Tea Party in San Francisco (no that’s not a typo) on October 15th;

    zombie-tea-party

    I’d have never figured that there were 20 people in San Francisco that were tea partiers – but there’s the proof. Thanks, Zombie.

  • Code Pink/VFP/WCW at the White House (Updated w/video)

    Not feeling the hope and change, a coalition of anti war groups marched on the White House. I’ve got some pictures and videos to put up for now – but I’ll be adding more tonight.

    There was no IVAW presence today, so the Geezers For Sitting On Our Hands was at the front of the march. For some reason, anti-war protesters think they need veterans in the front to give them legitimacy.

    That’s retired Colonel Ann Wright carrying a mock-up coffin with Jim Goodnow behind her. Goodnow drove the Impeach Bush bus which caught fire in a New Jersey rest stop and Goodnow claimed he was firebombed by right-wing extremists;

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 021

    Listen to the speaker in the first portion of this video as she equates the war in Afghanistan to Southeast DC. The moonbattery runs deeply in this one;

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 025

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 023

    Cindy Sheehan was there – but I didn’t need to say that because you know there were cameras.

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 028

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 030

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 063

    A couple of Guantanamo prisoners chained themselves to the fence – I volunteered to help the cops beat them, but they only chuckled and told me they could handle it.

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 072

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 069

    They waterboarded one old hippie and when I shouted for them to behead him instead of bathing him, they called me a “Nazi”.

    I guess you could take this sign a hundred ways, but anyway you parse it, it’s a slap against the troops;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (77)

    It’s not a protest against Bush anymore.

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (75)

    They needed more cowbell;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (66)

    Cindy and Medea have made up apparently;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (59)

    The National Lawyers Guild tried to intimidate the Free Republic folks;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (28)

    Probably because they were getting more interviews than the hippies;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (23)

    If you need more pictures, I have about a hundred at My Flickr Photostream. I kept the photos of the comely news ladies over there.

    I talked with Dana Milbank from the Washington Post and gave him my (unsolicited) impression. He told me that he’s writing this like it’s the “canary in the mine”. I told him that it’s more like a desperate play for donations. All of the “big guns” were there; Cindy Sheehan, Media Benjamin, Jody Evans, Michael MacPhearson (VFP’s ED) and some minor guns like John Grant (VFP in Philly and Hugo Chavez fan). They were there because they’re hurting for money what with the Democrats at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue and MoveOn sucking up the Left’s money.

    By the way, no MoveOn today, either.

    I’m really surprised that IVAW wasn’t there. I wonder if it’s a policy shift or a lack of participation. Since they recently officially condemned the Afghanistan War, it seemed the perfect venue.

    UPDATED AGAIN: Apparently, some of the protesters got arrested after I left for not keeping the sidewalk clear. I saw a couple of them giving crap to the Park Police and told them to quit being dicks and let the cops do their job. Of course, i got called a “Nazi” for that, too. So these bozos deserved to be arrested.

  • Think the media will report this? (Video added)

    Here’s one of the first signs I encountered this morning

    larouche-008

    Here’s the video;

    Bill Perry and I aren’t friends any more. He introduced to his crowd of Vets For Peace as “That lying SOB from This Ain’t Hell”. Ward Reilly was polite, though, so was Michael MacPhearson. Jim Goodnow told me to keep up the good work. I guess he’s not a reader.

    Free Republic is here;

    larouche-010

    They stalwartly followed the protest and got plenty of interviews through out the day’s fun.

  • LaRouche poster making the rounds

    When I wrote my initial post about the 9-12 march the other day, I snapped a picture of this doofus from the LaRouche crowd walking around with this poster and predicted that these whackos who support the perennial Democrat presidential candidate would be the “proof” that the left needed that we’re nutjobs;

    DC Tea Party1 038

    Well, as I was cruising the Leftist blogs, I went to one which had been considered conservative until after the election when it’s pony-tailed, bicycle-riding owner switched parties. He had a video up under the title “Bad Craziness in DC”. He opens the monologue with;

    Open talk of revolution, Hitler, Hitler Hitler….

    Here’s a screen shot from the video he uses as proof of “Hitler, Hitler Hitler”;

    obama-larouche

    Notice at the bottom of the sign;

    obama-larouche1

    Gotta keep my eyes on these guys every minute.

  • More 9-12 March video

    Our buddy Skye, from Midnight Blue, was at the march on Saturday, too. We lament that we didn’t know that she was there, so in hopes of making it up to her, we’ll show her video. For those of our readers who are still married to the 30,000 number, you can probably count 30,000 heads in this video;

    By the way, she has a new blog layout designed by the same guy who designed this one last year. I’m very jealous – Dino obviously has improved his skills.

    If you’re looking for them, our reports from Saturday, are here and here.

    While we’re on the subject of the march, Trooprally, one of our friends at Free Republic, sent along this link to the aftermath of the march Saturday.

    Another friend, Bev Perlson of the Band of Mothers sends along this picture of her time at the rally;

    bev-92-yr-old-wwii-vet-carrie-1

    By the way, we met Bubba (from What Bubba Knows) and his lovely wife the other night at Walter Reed so stop and give them some attention they deserve. He looks like his cartoon character.

    Added: Speaking of Bubba, he files his report of the march.

  • More video from the 9-12 march

    Here’s another video I’ve been trying to decode since yesterday. It’s around Freedom Plaza where the march began. I’ve been to lots of marches and rallies at Freedom Plaza over the last ten years, and I’ve never seen one this packed.

    According to concretebob, one of the event staff, Freedom Plaza had so many people in it, they had to start the march early by the order of the police. The last ANSWER march I attended there, the crowd didn’t even fill the plaza, let alone the surrounding streets and sidewalks – and oh, stretched all the way to the Capital – and that was one of those “100,000 protesters” marches ANSWER brags about to the press.

    If you haven’t already, go watch Uncle Jimbo’s video (featuring Mary Katherine Hamm) at Blackfive and Ace of Spades. I’ve never seen Jimbo smile as much as he did yesterday. I almost expected him to say “Tee-hee”.

    Our friend at American Power Blog sends along a link to the 9-12 rally in LA yesterday.

    My exit question: So what? We put a huge number of people on the streets of DC yesterday that were pretty single-minded. So who is going to lead? Ronald Reagan was the anti-Carter for four years. I don’t see an anti-Obama anywhere.
