  • The Lone Wolf Pack

    Courtesy of This Ain’t Hell, another “sanctimonious, terrible posting” from JD

    Just this past week, five more members of the United States Armed Forces were murdered by an Islamist jihadi. Four Marines and a Sailor. All around the media, communist-progressive propagandists were wondering what possible motive Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez had. MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell questioned whether he might be just another Southern gun nut. You know, like the psycho who murdered those people in the Church. Some other joker said we don’t know if this is a Muslim name or not, we do know it is an Arab name. Let me see, Mohammad. Has a familiar ring to it. The Rainbow House tweeted out “From my family to yours, Eid Mubarak! – @POTUS to Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.”

    I have never owned a Confederate battle flag. A buddy of mine had a Zippo lighter with one on it. But no one carries Zippos any longer. Miss that lighter fluid burn on my thigh. I think I might get one of those flags. Might as well right? A psycho lunatic murders people in a church. A photo of him is posted holding a Confederate battle flag. He immediately became the communist-progressive media’s poster boy for the south. Andrea Mitchell’s southern gun nut. Because of the little flag he held in a photo, if you are Southern and white you are now identified with a psycho lunatic murderer. So much so that the communist-progressives want to expunge your existence from the history of their nation.

    Here in the Twilight zone, we are still searching for motives. We still cannot associate murderers with their cause.

    The following is a repost of The Lone Wolf Pack, previously posted March 6, 2011. We have more lone wolves to add to the list.

    I spent nearly a decade of my life in cold war “West Germany.” I have been to Ramstein Air Base and Rhein Main Air Base and also to the Frankfurt Airport more times than I can recall. Also, I have been a passenger on countless military shuttle bus rides in and around Germany’s US military communities. These busses carry everything from school children, to military personnel going to and from work and families headed for the shopping centers. For would be attackers, they are soft targets. They are not defended, they are low risk, and they produce maximum damage, and provide maximum impact.

    The attack on Air Force personnel at the Frankfurt Airport, we are told, is another lone wolf attack. Just another guy who woke up in the morning and decided, not influenced by anyone or any group, to go out and shoot up a bus load of Americans while praising his Muslim god. He was an employed German born citizen obviously suffering from American oppression.

    The lone wolf attacks are adding up, but our government will not properly label them as terrorism. In mental health circles, I believe this is called suicidal ideation. We had the mass murdering Army major at Fort Hood. We had a would be bloomers bomber and the Times Square bomber. We had the shooting at the Arkansas military recruiting station. We also had the recent Texas Jihadi. There are probably more that I don’t even recall. Most thinking people can see a developing pattern here and an obvious common denominator. We are left to wonder how many of these so-called lone wolf killers are roaming the streets in American communities.

    I imagine out in the wild there is a lone wolf or two running outside the pack, but I am fairly certain they are of a single motivation and influence. They are influenced by their need to survive, which motivates them to kill something and eat it. Our lone wolves are too of a single motivation and influence.

    The United States Attorney General, when asked about it, was unable to bring himself to say that radical Islam influenced any of our so-called lone wolf killers or want to be killers. The chief law enforcement officer of the land cannot concede that these hopeful killers have a common motivation, which is to kill infidels preferably of the American and Jewish variety that originates from a common influence. Islam. Holder is not an imbecile, so I do not know what conclusions to draw from his inability to concede the obvious and then work hard to protect Americans from it. Unless these are also the Attorney General’s people.

    When asked if the attack in Germany was considered a terrorist attack, State Department spokesman P. J. Crowley asked, “Was the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords a terrorist attack? I mean, you have to look at the evidence and look at the motivation and then you make a judgment.” Wow! P. J., there was come commonality, both were lunatics. One however, was influenced by his psychosis and the other by his religion, which tells him to kill infidels. Even the stupid infidels who work for the State Department.

    These people are killing or trying to kill Americans while proclaiming the greatness of their Muslim god. Hey Eric, in police work I am told they call that a clue and modus operandi. If you believe that any of these murderers decided of their own volition and without any outside influence to murder or attempt to murder Americans, there is probably room for you in our current State Department or US Attorney General’s Office or at a minimum a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Commission now that Libya lost their spot.

    In Iran, when the people wanted to rid themselves of the Islamic theocracy, our national position was to “not meddle.” In Egypt where the secular regime was friendly toward America we cheered for a new government. As daffy Khadafy bombs, shoots and strafes his own we offer little beyond stern finger wagging.

    We have yoked ourselves to this region and to the Islamic culture that is irreconcilably incompatible with our freedom and representative form of government. We are engaged in a war that is as old as Isaac and Ishmael and it will continue until the last confrontation between good and evil. We cannot stop it, but we do need to have leaders with common sense enough to protect us as they are sworn to.

    The angel of the LORD also said to her [Hagar]: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” Genesis 16:11-12

    The Donald Trump amateur hour

    For some reason, Donald Trump thought it was important to make fun of John McCain’s military service yesterday when he told a crowd in Iowa;

    “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said of McCain, a Vietnam War veteran who was held captive and tortured for more than five years at one of North Vietnam’s most notorious prisons. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”

    Well, so Trump has tried to back peddle on those comments;

    “If a person is captured,” Trump said, “they’re a hero as far as I am concerned… But you have to do other things also.”

    He continued that he disagrees with how McCain has spent his later years as a legislator. Yeah, so do I as I’ve made clear in these pages over the past years. But what he went through in Vietnam has nothing to do with that. The year that McCain was captured and imprisoned with his injuries at the Hanoi Hilton, in 1967, Trump was on his fifth draft deferment while working on his economics and archeology degree at the Wharton Business School in Pennsylvania. So, where was Trump after his graduation from college in 1968? He was working for his Dad at the family business – and not being drafted into the war. How heroic.

    John McCain has been a real POS in regards to his political career, and I’ve written that here for years. Him and his little buddy, Lindsay Graham have sold veterans own the river on countless occasions. But, to use his POW years against him in a political discussion is just indicative of how Donald Trump has no place in politics.

    But Trump finds himself in good company. The most incompetent lawyer in the history of the profession, a fellow whose own military career has come into question countless times on this blog, Daniel A. Bernath, comments on a Mediaite article on the subject;

    This is silly. Getting captured doesn’t make you a hero. Putting your ass on the front line doesn’t make you a hero.

    How about if McCain actually did something other than stay a prisoner and cave in to the communists during his imprisonment. How about if he risked his life and saved a fellow sailor. That would make him a hero.

    Daniel A. Bernath United States Navy 1966-70
    TSA 2002-2004
    So, am I a hero? nope.

    Finally, we agree on something, Danny-boi, despite the fact that you’ve rewritten your life story to look like a hero, you’re no hero. You and Trump deserve each other.

  • How to formally arm our troops

    The terrorist organization known as ISIS has made it clear that a part of its jihadist war plan against America is carrying out so-called “lone wolf” attacks aimed primarily against members of our military and possibly their families. The attacks in Chattanooga by an apparent Islamic lone wolf are the latest result of that terror tactic. We can only guess as to what the future holds for American warriors and their families. We should not wait to find out.

    Our first step should be to end this foolishness of sending our military personnel out into harm’s way unarmed. ISIS cells and individuals operating in this country are well aware that military recruiters are sitting ducks in their glass-paned, storefront offices, as was made evident in Chattanooga. They also know something that most Americans do not: the incredible reality that our reserve and National Guard personnel serving in their armories and operations centers spread throughout this country also are unarmed when conducting their routine duties and training. There may be weapons present, but they are secured and signed out to personnel only when they are conducting combat preparation training within the boundaries of official military installations, or when they have been ordered into policing duties following community disasters, when armed looting prevention may be required.

    One of the first objections to allowing these military personnel to go armed, even from those serving, is that many, especially the newer troops, who are usually the youngest members as well, do not have the training in personal security defense to allow them to carry firearms safely. As some combat warriors have pointed out, even those who have served in combat zones are not necessarily trained in personal security in a working environment surrounded by unarmed civilians.

    Accepting that as true, why not train those who are potential targets of terrorist attacks in effective armed responses to such attacks? Completion of the initial training should be noted in their permanent records. Annual requalification training such as is now done for all arms training in the active forces should be a requirement to maintain their status as Personal Arms Qualified, or PAQ. This training should be uniform across all services – active duty, reserves, and National Guard – for those personnel whose duties place them at risk of terrorist acts. Importantly, PAQ should not be limited to off-base personnel. Every active unit should have most of its members qualified, with PAQ duty being rotated so that several troops are armed and on heightened alert at any given time. PAQ should permit service members to carry their weapons off post so that they are armed 24/7, affording protection to their families. States should be urged to accept PAQ as equal to their own permitting requirements for the carrying of weapons.

    Just as with the training, PAQ should be formalized across all services, with a universal qualification badge to be awarded and prominently worn by all service members on all service uniforms when their duties require them to go armed. Basic Personal Arms Qualification should probably involve sidearms only in its initial phase, with advanced training and qualifications in shoulder-fired automatic weapons to follow for key personnel so designated by their commanders. Such qualification could be shown by imposing crossed rifles on the PAQ badge or by other means. There should be a minimum of one person so qualified and so armed on duty at every off-post military work site when troops are present.

    When lone wolf or group attackers begin to be met with a full-on barrage of automatic return fire augmented by semi-automatic pistol fire from behind better fortified workplaces, their effectiveness and their lifespans will be greatly diminished.

  • What we don’t know and what we do know

    Since I’m a man of few words (no laughing in the back of the room), I’m not going to speculate, too much about the events of yesterday. What I am going to do is chronicle a few observations, sprinkled with my own commentary.

    First off; I would like to extend my condolences and gratitude to the families of the fallen Marines. I pray for the full recovery of the female Sailor, Marine, and Police Officer that were wounded. I thank the police for dispatching, with extreme prejudice, the scumbag who perpetrated his cowardly acts.

    Second; Whether you agree, or not, with our military personnel in garrison not being armed, it is a good discussion to have, and very prudent based on historical events. I have been in favor of our people packing in garrison. I think that even Ronnie Milsap can see that recent attacks are forcing us to change our SOP. I don’t think it violates posse come at us, since we aren’t talking about armed troops patrolling the streets, but being armed inside military facilities. People have pointed to an order put out by GHW Bush in 1992 as the reason we can’t have armed troops. Like leftists, they only concentrate on the first part of the directive and not the rest of it. He says “unless it is reasonable to expect attacks against personnel or assets”. I would think that has been qualified since 9/11/2001. I believe we all have a right to defend ourselves and return fire.

    Third up; Whether it was coordinated or a “lone wolf”. It doesn’t matter. ISIS had put out the call to take out targets in the US, specifically military targets including personnel. Hasan, Bledsoe, etc., have all answered the call of “global jihad”. Just like chuckleheads in the race baiting dept. had put out calls for their buddies to attack police officers here, after the recent protests and riots in a few cities, it doesn’t take specific instructions on specific targets in order to connect the dots (well, it does seem to take that for some in the gummint). The FBI Director just said a week ago that they can’t stop everything, especially in a world of instant communications. I’m glad he told the truth and was realistic about it. Too bad no one took his message to heart.

    Fourth; Several of us here have been pounding the desk, warning of these types of attacks for many years. Soft targets, like the recruiting stations, are terrifyingly easy to hit and cause a lot of damage. We mentioned this exact scenario several years ago i.e. “lone wolf” with an “assault rifle” going into a bar/grill/mall/etc. and shooting the place up, especially the target rich “gun free zones” that the bleeding hearts are so proud of. Sorry, but the only bleeding being done is by the victims of those “gun free zones”.

    Fifth; I hate the morons that instantly politicize these types of events. Some idiot got on twitter within 5 minutes of this tragedy and starting bleeting about gun control. Really? You flippin’ idiot; knock that crap off.

    Sixth (and last); While everyone is twisted up about the little stuff, like flags and feelings, our enemies are watching and planning. They want us distracted. They want us looking at the BS while they get into position. Yes, orders went out. Yes, those orders were carried out. The real question is; now what? What are we going to do to minimize (I say that, because you can’t stop it all) the threat?

    Old Trooper out.

  • The new Israeli airspace

    One outcome of the Iran nuclear agreement that I’ve not heard any of the pundits mention is the beneficial effect it will likely have on Israeli combat aircraft’s egress to those fat nuclear targets in Iran they have circled in bright red in their deepest command bunkers. Remember all those past predictions of Israeli problems in finding clear air lanes into Iran because they would have to violate the airspace of multiple Middle Eastern countries to get from home base to targets? The dithering concerns were that no Arab countries would betray the faith by permitting those Jew devils to fly over their nations to attack another Muslim country.

    With the Obama capitulation to Iran virtually guaranteeing that Persian nation’s future status as a nuclear power, complete with nuclear arsenal, other Arab rulers have to be taking a long, hard look at how greatly they may benefit from ignoring the rapidly passing shadow of an Israeli air armada overflying their boundaries en route to Tehran and other strategic Persian targets. As of now, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf States all have to be weighing the cost/benefit of that scenario. And with the certainty that it is Iran, not Israel, that represents the greatest threat to their own continued sovereignty, it is easy to conclude that Israel could enjoy unencumbered attack routes all the way from takeoff to bombs away, even repeatedly as necessary to render Iran an irradiated, smoking, never-to-be-again threat to its Arab neighbors.

    Mind you, the Israelis likely have enough submarine-borne nukes to make old General Le May smile around his cigar when it comes to returning Iran to a condition predating recorded civilization. But any commander, and most surely Netanyahu, welcomes the multiple offensive options of sea/air operations.

    Those mullahs are chuckling into their beards about making the Great Satan and her feckless leader grovel before the world. For now…

  • That National Guard data breach

    We got a copy of the bulletin from the National Guard in regards to the data breach that they reported last Friday;

    NG bulletin

    Apparently, they lost all of the data on everyone who served in the National Guard since 2004 and they knew about it last October but didn’t bother to tell you about it until Friday. I guess they were just waiting for some news, like the OPM data breach, to suck up the headlines.

  • What do you suppose will be next?

    I have no affection for the Confederate battle flag and I understand that it means different things to different people. I also do not think it is a good idea for it fly over the grounds of a state government, but I also firmly believe if it does, it is the state’s business. Not mine and most certainly not the business of the federal government. Like it or not, that emblem is part of the history of this nation. Do we want to wipe away our history, most especially the ugly parts of it? Wipe away a time that split not only our country, but families too? Bury the history of the time that divided us to the point that we took up arms and started killing one another? Should not an informed citizenry want to understand all of the events that led up to that conflict so as to not repeat it? All of the reasons and events that led up to that deadly split? Certainly we would not want to bury or mischaracterize any history surrounding an important event in the life of our nation. Would we?

    So let us not stop with a flag. Let us dig up long buried remains and move them somewhere – anywhere. A landfill maybe? We must tear down statues, rename schools, rename roads, rename all of those U.S. Army Bases now named for Confederate Generals…. And, if we pursue this logic to the very end, what else can we expunge from our history?

    “History can be well written only in a free country.” Voltaire, May 27, 1773

    From the blizzard of 1977 until July 1980, I was assigned to the ROTC Instructor Group, Gannon University, Erie, Pennsylvania. The local expression is that there are only two seasons in Erie. Winter and the 4th of July. That is fairly accurate. Considering on the July day my family and I got in the car and headed south, the temperature barely broke 50 degrees. Not to worry, it was 104 the day we arrived at Fort McClellan, Alabama. It was my first encounter with a heat mirage rising from the asphalt. But, back to Gannon. At one time in its history, ROTC was compulsory for all freshmen attending Gannon. A story was related to me by some of the long time staff concerning the Vietnam years when there was a push to ban the ROTC from Gannon the same was there was at other schools. Its proper name was the Department of Military Science. As the story was told to me, it actually came to a heated meeting of faculty and was prepared for a vote. The Monsignor, I was told, made his speech and ended it with a question. After we remove the Department of Military Science, which department do we remove next?

    After we have wiped any reminders of the Confederacy from our history, what do you suppose will be next? What other disagreeable and offensive symbols must be removed from our sight along with their history.

    I do not know if we are already traveling down the road of forgotten history or worse yet we are remembering a history that is racked with inaccuracies and exclusions. We must return to our beginning and revisit the missteps, otherwise we will repeat them. That is what we do.

  • Forget guns, illegals kill with cars

    Forget guns, illegals kill with cars

    We’re hearing a lot about the unfortunate murder in San Francisco of an innocent woman by an illegal Mexican thug who had been arrested and charged with numerous crimes, then deported multiple times only to return to cap his criminal career with an irrational, cold-blooded murder. While Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez may be drawing a lot of media heat, he’s small beer when it comes to illegals maiming and killing innocent Americans in other ways.

    What the Obama administration and their sycophant media do not want you to realize is that the favored weapon of young male illegals is not a stolen handgun or a cheaply made switchblade knife, but a much larger instrument of mayhem and death. That would be the junker – an automobile nearing the end of its useful existence by American standards, but still utilitarian enough for a drunken, unlicensed, uninsured male illegal to drive through your community at high speed, without regard for the public welfare or any consideration of the huge harm he is capable of inflicting upon innocent American citizens. Those of us who may have the misfortune of entering an intersection simultaneously with this outlaw as he blows through it at double or triple the speed limit, against the light, will be lucky to survive the impact, and even more fortunate to ever learn who it was – who, in those few seconds, changed our whole world.

    Because, you see, while the dust is settling amid the reek of spilled gasoline and perhaps blood, and the flashing lights of emergency vehicles strobe surrealistically, you and the first responders will be the only involved parties in the intersection. That illegal Mexican, Guatemalan, Nicaraguan, or whatever will be long departed, fleeing the scene at the same reckless speed and with the same abandon abandon that has you on a gurney sliding into the back of the ambulance. He has no insurance, much less a license to operate the vehicle that has so damnably and perhaps permanently altered your life. That of course is predicated on whether or not you are still in possession of that life, or whether it was taken from you with one violent impact by that thoroughly irresponsible young man, whom your president and the Democratic Party welcomed to this country and whom your city fathers granted unquestioned sanctuary.

    Welcome to Obama’s America, where every intersection has become a potential site for your random execution by an irresponsible, unlicensed young illegal immigrant getting the thrill of his life driving his beloved clunker at perilous speed, something he surely never had the chance to do in the small village that produced him (so he’s likely not even a competent driver). He also likely has no record and may even be a hardworking laborer for a landscaping business or something similar. All well and good until he climbs into that wreck he’s bought with his sweaty wages, and takes off hell-bent under the influence of drugs or alcohol. That young fool your president and the Democrats opened the gates for and welcomed in has now become a deadly threat to all of those in his path. One has to wonder: who are the bigger fools here?

    If you think I exaggerate, look at the news reports; Google the topic, and you will quickly find that those states with the highest rates of hit-and-run incidents are those states with the highest numbers of illegal immigrants. And it’s not like it hasn’t been reported previously here at American Thinker.
