  • Dear America

Many believe God blessed you and because of that you became a great nation. In the history of mankind, you are arguably the greatest ever. Among your citizenry are people who firmly believe and are quite vociferous in their belief that God had nothing to do with it. In fact they do not believe in the existence of God and to that are too quite vocal. But that is part of your beauty. People can believe as they choose on such matters and express their thoughts as they see fit. It is called freedom.

In too many cases that freedom to speak your mind is becoming a bludgeon. For too many people or groups, that cherished freedom of thought and expression is morphing into a demand that others must accept what they say and believe as they do or be labeled as some sort of phobic.

Among your people there is no longer clarity between what is good and what is evil. What one group holds to be good another holds to be evil and evil to one is good to another. And each group busies themselves insisting the other group believe as they do. Your people are hopelessly divided and the leaders chosen by them relish the division. Your house is divided and if the division is not bridged as any divided house, it will fall.

The captains of your ship of state have steadily steered you away from your charted path of liberty. For generations, your people have responded with apathy. For their lack of concern they have been keelhauled into submission lifting nary a finger in opposition. Instead they forfeited their freedom.

You were the champion of free markets, making you the wealthiest nation on earth. But your free markets are long gone replaced by crony capitalism. Now you are the champion of that. It is not even capitalism. It is where powerful and well connected are able to grow their wealth. In return for that politicians grow wealthy. The corporate powerhouses insist that the people should be taxed more, while your high corporate tax rates push smaller companies and the people they once employed to the wayside or force them to build factories in other countries. In all of this, it is your people who suffer.

Your charter declared your government to be by the people and for the people. No. It is now a government by the corrupt and for the corrupt. The corrupt govern to benefit themselves and the corporate cronies who make them wealthy – on a civil servants salary. Your vaunted political system and government of the people is now nothing more than a wealth producing industry for those able to play. This is as far from your founding charter as one could possibly travel in such a relatively short period of history.

You were once a mighty nation, one with character and trust. Your enemies feared you and your friends respected you. Troubled nations could look to you for help. Now, you are led by people who openly sympathize with the deadliest enemy you have faced since your last great war. Your leadership, elected by your people, has forged an agreement with an enemy sworn to your destruction. This same leadership has been a wrecking ball in relationships with your most trusted friends while seemingly embracing your most heinous enemies. This reckless leadership moves along its path of destruction while people elected to confront it close their eyes and ears and sit on their hands. So where do your people turn.

I believed God blessed you. I believe God will also judge you. I believe you should be on your knees asking for his mercy.

  • Tell me again how it is you differ from radical Islam

I am Christian and that is the foundation from which I view the world. Although accused of it every time I mention the subject, I have never once tried to force anyone to accept my beliefs. If asked or invited to do so, I will share. I most certainly do believe God blessed all of us with free will – freedom – to choose the path in life that we feel suits us. If you feel that your freedom is derived from some other source or no source, then that is certainly your choice to make. So, it does not concern me that someone chooses another religion or no religion or whatever other path they wish to walk. I do not care if a person chooses to center their lives on an intimate relationship with a person of the same sex. There is a caveat. If your chosen path is to make me accept and endorse whatever it is you believe when it is absolutely contrary to what I firmly accept and believe then as they say over here in the hills, me and you, we going to have us a problem.

As the President’s ineptly named JV team continues their reign of terror across the Middle East great numbers of people are being brutally murdered. I am convinced they have some evil bastard whose job it is to dream up more horrific ways to murder people so they can share their terror with the world. Not only are they wiping out entire villages that do not hold their world view, they are destroying all vestiges of history they come across.

In the land of the free, there is a more sophisticated brand of coercion. If you are a baker and because of your beliefs you refuse to provide a cake supporting homosexual marriage, you will be sued, chased out of business, fined by some philosophically driven judge, and ordered to not speak about it. The same thing will happen to you if you are a florist, a photographer, or own a wedding chapel. Now, we have progressed to the next level wherein we have our first political prisoner. A woman jailed because her religious convictions prevent her from providing a marriage license bearing her name to homosexuals. She will remain in jail according to the judge, until she changes her mind. Until she changes her mind and goes against her conscious and Christian beliefs. In other words, endorse what we believe or we will destroy your life or put you in prison. How exactly does that differ from what is taking place in the Middle East? We have just not arrived at the point of killing people – yet.

There is a tremendous purge of American history happening right before our eyes and being endorsed by every talking head and chickensh*t politician in sight. The evil Confederate battle flag is being banned everywhere. Statues are coming down, schools are being renamed, even idiots wanting to dig up and move the remains of the dead. I read an article in Army magazine recently where some nitwit Army Major insisted that we rename all of those US Army bases that are currently named for traitors and slave owners. I could almost imagine the spit flying out of his mouth while he was pounding on the keyboard. When you are wiping out history, how again is that different from what is happening in the Middle East?

For the County Clerk who is currently jailed I have heard a lot of suggestions. If she refuses to obey the law, then she should be removed from office. That will be acceptable to me right after Barack Obama is removed from office for the same albeit more egregious reasons. Besides, I do not know which law the clerk is breaking. I do not believe a Supreme Court decree is a law. Another I have heard is if she does not want to do that job then she should just get another job. In other words if you choose to not violate your religious beliefs, you are banned from holding public office. There is religious accommodation all over federal and state governments and in the armed forces. Apparently, when it comes to homosexuality there is not. The rainbow flag of terror flies high.

I think I’ll go watch some football. Watching 300 pound men trying to impose their wills on another makes sense to me right now. You bust me in the mouth. I bust you in the mouth. Is that not what it is coming down to right here in the land of the free?

  • A Foundation of Lies

It is like the Biblical parable of the man who built his house on the sand giving it a foundation that could not weather the storms. In our country, when the house falls many more than just the proprietor will be swept away. While we all sit around wondering how we got here and to whom we should assign fault.

I watched an interesting video clip speaking of Islam as a threat. Admiral (Retired) James Lyons talks about actions not taken that could have been and should have been then finishes up by sharing the foundation of the Obama strategy, “It is Anti American, Anti Western, Pro Islam, Pro Iranian, and Pro Muslim Brotherhood.” I believe I could add a few more “antis” to the list, but they all fit comfortably under American and Western. Worth the minute or two it takes to listen to it.

No matter from where we get the moral code by which we live and from what authority it is derived, each us will at some time in our lives have to decide what is right and what is wrong. We have to make that choice minus today’s relativism. Things are either right or they are wrong. I am not contemplating others with this thought. It is more of a self-chat. From time to time I need to check my own compass heading. I am not much good to myself or to my countrymen if I cannot hold firm to what I believe.

Back to the question of to whom we need assign blame for the predicament in which we find ourselves. For me, I must assign blame for the state of our nation to the man in the mirror.

I suppose I am about as middle as middle class gets. I tolerate things happening in my country that would never be allowed across the threshold of my heart or mind as being even remotely acceptable. You can ponder your own list of those closely held “things.” But, I believe I share with too many a tolerance for accepting dishonesty from public officials holding the highest offices of the land right on down to where the rubber meets the middle class road. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, if you like your health plan you can keep your health plan, and families will save $2500 a year on health costs…. Elitist lying politicians have become the norm. How do we deal with this dishonesty? Well, fifty percent of us do not even vote.

Just yesterday another Police Officer was murdered. The anti-police rhetoric in our country has support from the highest office in the land, the country’s top law enforcement office, and the usual group of race hustlers along with Louis Farrakhan who called for his “army” to hunt them down and kill them. We all heard how the police “acted stupidly” more than once. We have riots, destruction of businesses and destruction of private property. We have murder rates shooting through the roof because police officers fear being prosecuted if they have to un-holster their weapons. We had one officer beaten unconscious because he hesitated to use his weapon.

Sadly, the whole thing is built on a lie. “Hands up don’t shoot” never happened and even Eric Holder’s Department of Justice could not find a crime, but they are still rioting in Ferguson. People with weak minds who may choose to shoot a police officer in the back probably see themselves as some sort of a hero for a cause built on a lie. And, the progressive media, the people in charge of one of our most precious freedoms, keep kindling the fires. It just seems to me that someone wants to see confrontations in the streets. So the government can sweep in and save whom? From what?

In the media they periodically speak about the President’s legacy. Mr. President it is already written. A legacy sitting atop a foundation of lies. It will not withstand the tests of time and at some point your daughters will have to explain to your grandchildren why history is so unkind to you.

  • Journalism this week

There were a couple of things that I observed this week in the world of journalism that I find it hard to let pass without a comment.

The first was Jorge Whats-his-name from Univision who demanded to be heard by Donald Trump by interrupting his press conference. As many of you know, I’m not Trump fan, but I’m less a fan of the current state of the media. Jorge from Univision wasn’t asking a question to which he expected an answer. He was making a statement about his personal opinion regarding illegal immigration. He went on other “news” shows and said he had a “right” to ask his question. First of all, there is no “right” to ask a public person a question. I’d like to know where Jorge found that in the Bill of Rights.

Secondly, as I pointed out, Jorge wasn’t asking a question. He was grandstanding and making himself part of the news cycle. That’s not what real journalists do – they report the facts, the news, not become part of it. Even if he had a valid point, it was lost in the attention whoring for the cameras, and then his misapprehension of what is a “right” compounded by the other “news” sources that made it part of the national discussion on illegal immigration.

Then there was the horrific murder of two members of a Virginia TV news station. I know how journalists felt about it, you know because it happened to two of their own and committed by another journalist. I feel the same way when a veteran is mistreated in some way. But, in my opinion, the wall-to-wall coverage of the whole thing played right into the hands of the murderer. I’m pretty sure that he wanted to be made famous by the incident and he did it in the most public way that he could, even providing the media with video of his crime and Tweeting his getaway.

The media claims that whats-his-name was a big fan of ISIS and al Qaeda, especially in the felling of the World trade Center Towers, but, also, other mass murder events, like the one in Charleston earlier this year. His intent was to make his name a household word, to sear the video of his horrific crime into the national memory. The media did their best to help him in that endeavor with minute-by-minute coverage of his terror spree. As late as last night, Azteca TV was still running the video on their news program “Al Extremo” which was included among other similar events from around the world in which criminals attacked news teams while they were broadcasting live in order to magnify their terrorist activities. It just doesn’t happen here, you see.

I know that “if it bleeds, it leads” in the news world, but, just as they made the goals of that gunman in Charleston to start a race war their own goal, their coverage of this event in Virginia has put a target on the back of every live news-gathering crew in the world by doing exactly what whats-his-name wanted them to do. They made him famous by blasting out his photos, his career, the minutiae of every detail of his life, his manifesto, even his to-do list for the day. Every borderline head case with delusions of grandeur will follow his example.

The media can keep it’s own head count of the times it will happen around the world, but they’ll never blame themselves.

  • Maybe we need a new law…

Maybe we need a new law banning mixed-race, homosexual ex-reporters from owning guns. Hey, a guy who’s pretty obviously mixed-race and openly homosexual, as well as a documented ex-reporter, killed two people in Virginia yesterday, and all the usual left-wing gun-grabbers are focusing on only one aspect of the crime: the inanimate handgun used by the mixed-race, homosexual ex-reporter who committed the despicable act. These lefties use every sensational killing as an excuse to call for more gun restrictions, almost like your neighborhood dogs that start howling when they hear a siren go off somewhere across town.

My reasoning is that if it weren’t for the actions of the mixed-race homosexual ex-reporter, we wouldn’t be having this discussion at all. So obviously it is those three elements of the crime, every bit as much as the fact that a handgun was used, that we should be looking at to prevent future reoccurrences, right?

    Right?

Of course, you readers see the preposterousness of the above argument. The fact that the perp was a mixed-race homosexual ex-reporter has no bearing on the events that transpired except the last element: his being fired most likely was a triggering event for this tragedy. And had we possessed laws that forbade mixed-race homosexuals from buying guns, these killings took place at such close proximity that a machete or an ax would have served as effectively as the handgun.

Once again, the siren of tragedy has gone off, and every liberal gun-grabbing mutt who hears it begins to howl for more gun control and more restrictions on the rights of non-criminal free citizens. Amidst their liberal caterwauling, one good idea has come to me as a result of this latest tragedy. While I obviously hold no animosity against persons of mixed race or homosexuals, the same can’t be said for ex-reporters, or more precisely, all reporters, who should, to my way of thinking, all be made ex-reporters. Even without banning them from owning guns, we’d all be better off for it. Maybe we could ban them from owning computers and smartphones.

Maybe we need a new law…

  • Friday morning feel good stories

    Friday morning feel good stories

Chief Tango sends us our story this morning which comes from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where Pastor Kenneth Morgan, while preparing for the evening’s services heard some noises in the church. When he went to investigate, he found a stranger in there. At the sight of the pastor, the stranger ran away and the pastor pulled out his legally owned and registered handgun. He says that he intentionally missed the target when he fired. But it took the police only about fifteen minutes to find the lazy thief near the church.

  • DNC mistakes Polish vets for US vets

DNC mistakes Polish vets for US vets

    Polish vets

    Our buddy, Jeff Schogol, sends us a link to Leo Shane’s article at Military Times. Leo caught the Democrat National Committee mistaking a group of Polish war veterans for US war veterans on their website while bragging about their “commitment to America’s veterans” using the picture above to portray US veterans;

The president had been cropped out, but faces of four elderly veterans wearing European-style military uniforms were visible above several paragraphs asserting the party’s “commitment to America’s veterans.” The Polish military’s White Eagle insignia was clear on the headgear of two of the veterans.

While largely harmless, the error points to a common complaint among U.S. veterans groups about the lack of knowledge of many Americans about military life, tradition and challenges.

    Yeah, I’m pretty sure most Americans wouldn’t mistake the heroes in the picture above for Americans. Leo pointed the error out to the DNC which changed the graphic fairly quickly;

“We thank Military Times for bringing this to our attention and have now fixed the photograph on our website,” DNC spokesman Eric Walker said in a statement.

“Whether it’s passing a new GI Bill, tax credits for hiring veterans, or reducing homelessness among veterans, the Democratic Party’s commitment to our nation’s heroes is unwavering.”

Pretty words, but it’s no wonder that so many phony veterans slip through to unearned benefits when even the party hierarchy at the Democrat Party can’t spot a foreign veteran. Of course, you really have to care in order to make the distinction, you know, beyond the pretty words.

  • “Toby Miles”, You Got Some ‘Splainin’ To Do

In fact, it looks like “Toby Miles” could well be in big trouble.

What, you don’t recognize the name?  Well, don’t feel bad.  That’s by design.

That was the name used for the third email account Lois Lerner used to conduct “official business” while executing her politically-driven hatchet work at the IRS.  The IRS apparently “just realized that” while responding judge’s order to turn documents related to Lerner over to Judicial Watch .

The Washington Times has a good article on this bit of new news.  It’s IMO worth a read.
