    Diomonte Demetrius Jean; phony PJ, Marine

    Some folks in the Air Force PJ community ran into this guy, Diomonte Demetrius Jean, when he tried to join their social media group.

    When they called him out, he presented them with this letter, supposedly from his commander;

    He also claims that he was a Marine;

    Yeah, but no. He was in Air Force Junior ROTC once;

    The Air Force and the Marine Corps never heard of him;

  • Billy Webb; phony SEAL

    Billy Webb; phony SEAL

    Once again, our partners at Military Phonies send us their work on another SEAL, Billy Webb. Of course, in addition to being a SEAL, he was also a sniper, he says;

    He also convinced a local news source that he was a SEAL in an article about picking mushrooms, for some reason.

    Yeah, but no. The folks at Military Phonies summarize his records;

    Billy’s DD-214 lists him as a Special Operations Officer – An Unrestricted Line Officer who is a Special Operations officer by virtue of training in the EOD, DIV/ SAL, and EOM functional areas and he was NOT listed as Naval Special Warfare Officer (FYI – it would say SEAL not NSW).

    Billy served in the reserves from in 1978 and 79 and received his commission on August 8, 1981. A review of his records shows that he was NOT a SEAL, he was NOT a sniper, he never attended BUD/S and had no type of wings (jump or pilot). He did retire as a LCDR (O-4)….

  • Joseph Offutt; phony Marine

    Joseph Offutt; phony Marine

    Our partners at Military Phonies send us their work on this fellow, Joe Offutt. His Marine Corps service isn’t available to the public, he says, because he “got fried”;

    So he had one of his sock puppets send out stuff in bits and pieces, something about rectal trauma and posting medical records on a DD214;

    So, they checked his single record system;

    It showed 14 days of active duty and so does his FOIA;

    I think he wins the prize for our shortest enlistment in ever. In comparison, he spent 7 months and 13 days on the Delayed Entry Program, so, you know, he’s almost retired.

  • Manuel Fernandez; phony SEAL

    Manuel Fernandez; phony SEAL

    Our partners at Military Phonies send us their work on Mannie Fernandez, “The Raging Bull” at WWE. a professional wrestler. You can hear him tell his wild-ass stories about him being a SEAL in Vietnam in this video. LANGUAGE WARNING;

    You can read it in his bios;

    He joined the Navy years after the last SEAL left Vietnam, he spent 21 months in the Navy and it appears that they parted company on bad terms – but no SEAL Training, no SEAL assignment, no time in Vietnam, no time in combat.

    Yeah, Raging Bull, but not the way he meant it.

    I’m not a disgruntled wrestler;

  • Kevin Holian; phony Vietnam vet, POW

    Kevin Holian; phony Vietnam vet, POW

    Someone sent us their work on this fellow, Kevin Holian who claimed in one of his Facebook Groups that he was a Vietnam veteran and a POW of that war;

    Yeah, but no. He did serve towards the end of the Vietnam War as a Vietnamese linguist – he ended his training four months after combat troops left Vietnam. The closest he got to Vietnam was Korea. Then he finished his commitment in the Reserves.

    To complete the evidence, the alphabetical list of Vietnam POWs from the US Army who have been accounted for;

    It’s not his fault that war ended before he could get to it – it is his fault that he had to make shit up to feel better about himself. And a POW, ffs.

    From Kev on our Facebook page;

  • Phil Haberman in the news

    Phil Haberman in the news

    Yesterday, we wrote a bit about Phil Haberman and I mentioned that there was some media interest in his story as a phony Special Forces soldier. I found a story from Reuters today and how he couldn’t help but tell his phony story while he was helping storm-ravaged victims of Hurricane Harvey;

    Phil Drager commanded a fleet of rescue boats, closed a highway, and flagged down a helicopter when he led efforts to rescue flood victims in Texas as waters rose after Hurricane Harvey, citing as his credentials a record in U.S. military special operations.

    His actions as a volunteer were real, but some of what he told victims, volunteers and officials about himself – including his name and the details of his military background – was not.

    Drager was born Phil Jason Haberman but said he uses an assumed name for personal reasons. He served in the Marines from 1990 to 1991, according to military records. He also served for a year and a half in the Army National Guard where he was discharged in 2006 under “other than honorable conditions,” a National Guard spokesman said.

    Drager told Reuters the records were “not accurate.” He later said additional paperwork filed in Florida showed his National Guard discharge was overturned to become honorable. The National Guard spokesman said he was unable to find those records.

    Here are his “inaccurate records” in case you forgot;

    After initially saying he could not retrieve information he had at home relevant to Reuters’ comment request because he was traveling, Drager sent copies of records showing he joined the Army Reserves and was assigned to active duty in Georgia in April 2008 for a term that expired a year later. Multiple military representatives did not immediately respond to requests to verify the records.

    There is no evidence Drager acted illegally.

    Apparently, he did good things in Houston, but he could have accomplished those good deeds without telling his phony story about his military career.

    But phonies gotta phony.

    Folks in Houston who run into Haberman, should keep their hands over their wallets.

  • Phil Haberman; GI Jerk

    Phil Haberman; GI Jerk

    I’ve been sitting on this file for more years than I care to count – mostly because it’s so complicated. But the folks at Military Phonies mentioned Phil Haberman, AKA DJ Drager, the other day, so I figured that I’d better get on the stick. This guy was dubbed GI Jerk by the Dallas Observer for the way he tried to cheat his wife and the Army. There have been extensive articles written about him on Love Fraud;

    He’s also tried his own Nigerian scam tempting people to help him ship found money out of Iraq.

    Can i trust you and will you help?I look forward to hearing from you.
    Yours Faithfully,

    Mr. Sgt Haberman Phil Jason

    He has pretended to be Special Forces;

    He’s really just a criminal though. Haberman goes up and down the rank scale, he gets tossed from the Army, and somehow weasels his way back in, only to get booted once again.

    You can read about his civilian criminal career at Military Phonies.

    According to Dave Hardin, the media is interested in him once again, so I guess his saga continues – expect more updates as we hear about them.

  • Glenn Michael Rowe; phony SEAL

    Glenn Michael Rowe; phony SEAL

    Another Monday, another phony SEAL from our partners at Phony Warriors. This one, Glenn Rowe, also claims a Silver Star and a Purple Heart;

    His local fire station even included him in a handpainted mural to honor his SEAL-ship;

    Yeah, but no. According to his records, he served 30 years in the Navy and retired as a DKCS – an E-8 Disbursing clerk. No SEAL training, no parachute training, just a clerk;

    He’s real sorry that he was caught, though;
