Hatching Out
An emu chick hatches at the Wild Rose Emu Ranch in Hamilton, Montana. Your Shot photographer Pam Voth waited for hours, watching the chick work on coming out of its shell. “What surprised me was the delicate, tiny little whistling call it made as it was hatching,” she remembers. “In the wild, this chick’s whistle would have been answered by the male on the nest.”

Fox and Ice
“I wanted to photograph the rare blue morph species of arctic foxes in their harsh winter environment,” says Your Shot photographer Sonalini Khetrapal. “To photograph these miraculously tough animals, I went to the uninhabited Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in northern Iceland. I captured my dream image as she stared straight at me, making fleeting eye contact, while we both braced ourselves against the roaring winds.”

Friends and Anemones
A clownfish hides within a sea anemone in the waters off Indonesia. Clownfish always make their homes in anemones, and the species share a mutually beneficial, or symbiotic, relationship. The anemone’s stinging tentacles ward off fish that predate on clownfish. In return, the clownfish clean the anemone, and its waste provides nutrients for the anemone.

Springing Snake
On a rainy day in the rainforest of Agumbe, India, a green vine snake reacts to what it perceives to be a threat. “They are very hard to spot because they blend into their habitat, usually bushy vegetation,” says Your Shot photographer Vinod Nicholas. “When they feel threatened they puff up giving them a green white checkered appearance.”

Monastery in the Mist
Near the town of Kalambaka, Greece, six Eastern Orthodox monasteries are built on top of a series of tall rock formations called the Meteora. Pictured here is the Roussanou Monastery, which was founded sometime in the mid-16th century. Today, a small group of nuns resides there.
Mr Wittgenfeld went to court yesterday and here is the report from folks who were there;
Wittgenfeld appeared today in KC 16th District in front of Judge Ardie Bland represented by counsel. He pleaded Guilty to all charges in exchange for a one year probated sentence and removal of ALL Internet postings regarding this entire issue. The Judge admonished him with the statement that if there is so much of a sniff about this he will be brought back to KC for an extended visit.
So, to recap, Mr Bernath is still a-moldering in a cell in Virginia until December, and Mr Wittgenfeld handed his ass over to a judge in Missouri.
