  • Beck discovers that Massa is a self-serving pervert

    At the end of the hour-long, much-touted interview with former congressional butt plug, Eric Massa, Glen Beck apologized to America for wasting our time;

    You can read Dana Milbank’s account of the interview at the Washington Post.

    The Beck-Massa affair was a case of two political extremists who have gone so far in opposite directions that these strange bedfellows have wound up on the same mattress: They are both avowed foes of the Obama administration and its efforts to enact health-care reform.

    Like I said yesterday, Beck lost sight of the fact that the reason Massa was prepared to vote against the healthcare bill was because it didn’t contain the single-payer and public options. Massa was/is a scumbag who admitted he wouldn’t vote in the interests of his constituency last year.

    His own staff reported him to Steny Hoyer for groping them.

    He was a POS and Beck should have seen that rather than give him a moment’s air time.

    Wesley Clark should be proud of his former staffer.

  • Rob Diamond; another HuffPo hack

    I wrote about Rob Diamond a few weeks back when he criticized Republicans daring to have troops in their audiences. Today he’s complaining that Glen Beck is stealing from military charities over at the Huffington Post;

    What is actually happening — and what is so obviously wrong — is that the rally is not actually raising money for SOWF [Special Operations Warrior Foundation]. SOWF is raising all the money to pay for the rally.

    Don’t believe me? Just read the plain-as-day, italicized font on the SOWF website:

    All contributions made to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) will first be applied to the costs of the Restoring Honor Rally taking place on August 28, 2010. All contributions in excess of these costs will then be retained by the SOWF.

    That’s weird, I thought. I give $100 to SOWF and it goes to Glenn Beck first, college scholarships for children of deceased special operators (maybe) second? Why would Glenn Beck be using a charitable organization, whose mission it is to provide college scholarships to the children of deceased special operators, as the financing arm of his “non-political, non-partisan” rally?

    Is that really what it says, Rob? Is that how they taught you to read at Annapolis? Do you think that they meant ALL of the costs of the rally, or did they mean that they were going to recover the costs of their representatives going to rally and sleeping in hotels, paying for gas and actually eating – or do you expect them to sleep on sewer grates for their stay?

    Permits in DC cost everybody money, whether they’re a charity or not. How do you expect them to pay for it? The rally is billed as a non-partisan, non-political event and Beck is just one of the speakers who will draw the donation money.

    Do you really think that greedy-ass Beck, who you admit makes $18 million a year, is going to sit by the pot and count out his share of donations. “One for me, one for them”.

    Rob claims that he’s a fellow of the Truman National Security Project. The mission statement of the Truman National Security Project says;

    The Truman National Security Project is a national security leadership institute, the nation’s only organization that recruits, trains, and positions a new generation of progressives across America to lead on national security.

    I guess if Diamond is the type of whiney, whitebread, illiterate crybaby that Truman National Security Project is producing, they can’t be spending much time on national security policy.

    The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is now serving as a financial front man for the right-wing, Fox News demagogue that is Glenn Beck. This so-called “rally” has nothing to do with SOWF’s stated (and noble) mission of giving college scholarships to children of deceased servicemembers.

    Really? Why would you want to sabotage a worthy charity with your hyperbole, Diamond?

    Actually, The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is one of the most efficiently managed charities;

    We are proud to announce that the Special Operations Warrior Foundation has earned its fourth consecutive 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances from the nation’s leading charity watchdog group, Charity Navigator. Only 7% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least 4 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Special Operations Warrior Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America.

    To date, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation has provided over $900,000 to wounded special operations personnel.

    Those scum bags.

    I’ve only read two posts written by Diamond at Huffington Post – he comes off as a petty little creep. And a hack.

  • Massa threatens to rescind resignation

    My cousin Scott sends me this from Roll Call about Scott’s soon-to-be-former Congressman, Eric Massa;

    Responding to a caller to his weekly radio show on WKPQ Power 105 FM, a recording of which was made available via the Web site of local station 13 WHAM-TV, Massa said: “I’m not going to be a Congressman as of 5 o’clock [Monday] afternoon. The only way to stop that is for me to rescind my resignation. That’s the only way to stop it. And the only way that’s going to happen is if this becomes a national story.”

    During the hour-and-a-half show, Massa said that Democratic leaders are using the House ethics committee to get him out of office before the vote on health care because he voted against the House health care bill last fall.

    Well, he voted against the healthcare bill because it wasn’t “robust” enough for his liking according to Fox News;

    Massa, who supports a robust government health insurance plan, was one of 39 House Democrats who voted against the health care bill last year.

    So he’s really no sympathetic hero in all of this – he wants both the public option and single-payer plan. Fox also details the incident that put on the ropes for a sexual harassment charge;

    Massa said he had just gotten up to sing Auld Lang Syne and had finished dancing with the bride and bridesmaid — in full view of cameras — when he sat back down at a table with male staff members.

    That’s when he made the “inappropriate” remark.

    “One of them looked at me and, as they would do after, I don’t know, 15 gin and tonics, and goodness only knows how many bottles of champagne, a staff member made an intonation to me that maybe I should be chasing after the bridesmaid, and his points were clear and his words were far more colorful than that.

    “And I grabbed the staff member sitting next to me and said, ‘Well, what I really ought to be doing is fracking you,’” he said.

    That ain’t so bad, if it’s true, but it does show poor judgement on his part. Yeah, you can probably chalk it up to his Navy years, but I can’t imagine an officer in my chain of command doinng soemthing like that.

    And like I said last week, I don’t care why he’s gone, I’m just glad he’s gone. Well, if the Democrat leadership doesn’t screw up his resignation.

  • No. Screw Hollywood.

    There were years that I never attended any movie, because I was tired of being preached to by the drooling morons in Hollywood who couldn’t keep themselves out of mug shots. Finally, Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, They Were Soldiers, Blackhawk Down came out and I was tempted back to the theaters and even had HBO for awhile. But the latest line of garbage pollutes theaters – I can’t even remember the names of movies that drove me out the theaters.

    But at the Academy Awards, the film industry through the Bush years, disparaged everything about this country to ingratiate themselves with the intellectually vacant Left – they all stood around and gave handjobs to people like Michael Moore and Al Gore to influence the direction of politics.

    And last night they gave an academy award to a war movie. They couldn’t give an award to a war movie during the Bush years, but they could see their way clear to do it while a Democrat is President. I haven’t seen “Hurt Locker” so I’m not going to judge the movie. What I am going to judge are the nincompoops who gave out the award.

    My inbox filled up last night with people from the Right praising Hollywood for their “brave” “support” of the troops. What they did last night had nothing to do with bravery, or support for the troops. They voted to give the award to each other – for the same reasons they WOULDN’T give the award during the Bush years. Their own stupid vision of themselves, and the perception that they think the public has of them.

    To give Hollywood an iota of credit for “supporting the troops” last night is to forget the shit they dished us over the last decade. No. Screw Hollywood. They didn’t do anyone but themselves a favor last night. If we, on the right side of this war against terror, ignored them and their idiot opinions for the last nine years, why are we thanking them and praising them for their opinion last night? They’re just as stupid today as they were yesterday morning.

  • Massa resigns

    I read yesterday at Ace of Spades that Eric Massa, has resigned effective Monday. Of course, he claims it was another bout with cancer that did it. But it was two bouts of cancer that got him elected in the first place.

    Of course, after his initial denial of a sexual harassment charge, he admits it;

    “I am guilty,” Massa said in an interview with a Corning, N.Y., newspaper columnist.

    Later in the day, Massa released a statement saying that after discovering he had a recurrence of cancer, he learned he was the subject of an ethics complaint by a male staffer who felt “uncomfortable” during an exchange with Massa. The exchange reportedly had sexual overtones.

    One of our readers, Jetty, who happens to live in Massa’s district pointed me to Bob Lonsberry, a local journalist, and his recounting of Massa tales from his Navy days;

    In one instance, Eric Massa was a lieutenant commander and the combat systems officer of the USS Jouett. That made him the third-ranking officer on the boat – behind the captain and the executive officer.

    According to another officer on the ship, Massa and a lieutenant were on liberty in the Middle East. Massa had made the motel arrangements and the room turned out to have only one bed. The lieutenant reportedly told other officers on the ship that while they were in the room, Massa came up behind him and started massaging his neck and shoulders.

    The lieutenant, shocked by this conduct from a higher-ranking officer, shrugged it off, literally.

    In the night, he later told shipmates, he was awakened by Massa’s hands in his shorts. The lieutenant was startled and turned away. Massa rolled over and pretended to be asleep.

    Whether that happened or not, only two people know. But the story was known on the ship and was passed to me by a fellow officer and graduate of the Naval Academy.

    Lonsberry recounts more of Massa’s bizarre behavior at the link. Consider this a kick in Massa’s fat ass on his way out the door.

  • J Patrick Bedell is really a tea partier, despite the best evidence available

    While I was reading my newest favorite non-milblog, Legal Insurrection, I ruminated about the lengths the Left will go to misrepresent these clearly Leftist suicide nutters. Early this morning, I’d read DrewM at Ace of Spades who pointed readers to Patterico’s dumpster diving in regards to Bedell.

    I actually Googled “John Patrick Bedell” “Tea Party” and you’ll find some gibberish that someone wrote this morning – but it’s real gibberish. Seriously – it wasn’t coherent in the least – that’s not hyperbole.

    But I went to read my email and OldTrooper and NHSparky had both emailed the same article from the Christian Science Monitor;

    John Patrick Bedell, whom authorities identified as the gunman in the Pentagon shooting on Thursday, appears to have been a right-wing extremist with virulent antigovernment feelings.

    If so, that would make the Pentagon shooting the second violent extremist attack on a federal building within the past month. On Feb. 18, Joseph Stack flew a small aircraft into an IRS building in Austin, Texas. Mr. Stack left behind a disjointed screed in which, among other things, he expressed his hatred of the government.

    Details of Mr. Bedell’s case are still emerging. But writings by someone with his same name and birth date, posted on the Internet, express ill will toward the government and the armed forces and question whether Washington itself might have been behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

    Of course, if someone had done this in, say 2005, “ill will towards the government and the armed forces and questioned whether Washington itself might have been behind the September 11th terrorist attacks” would have described 98% of Democrats. But now because there’s a Democrat in the White House and Democrats control Congress, anyone who opposes the government these days must be a Right Wing nut.

    And how did Joseph Stack become a right wing nut when he clearly espoused communism? I mean, he quoted Marx right in the last line in bold in his screed.

    Peckerwood Peter Grier’s (the journalist for the CSM) evidence that Bedell seems airtight; he drove his car across the country, dressed in a business suit for the shooting and owned two guns. Case closed – who else but a conservative would do that?

    Of course, Peckerwood Grier couldn’t help but throw up SPLC’s specious reporting;

    The Pentagon attack and the destruction at the IRS building in Austin, Texas, come at a time of explosive growth in extremist-group activism across the United States, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks such organizations.

    The number of US extremist paramilitary militias grew from 42 in 2008 to 127 in 2009, according to a just-released SPLC annual report.

    So-called “Patriot” groups, steeped in antigovernment conspiracy theories, grew from 149 in 2008 to 512 in 2009 – an increase that the SPLC report judges as “astonishing.”

    See how easy it is to be a shit-mouthed, fucking liar without caring?

  • SPLC: Dobbs, Beck and Palin are the real terrorists

    The Southern Poverty Law Center has sent their head ritard, Mark Potok out in front again to make specious charges against Conservative icons;

    Anti-government sentiments in the U.S. have reached levels so high they could result in another attack like the Oklahoma City bombing, according to a report released Tuesday by an organization that tracks right-wing extremists – and the authors of the report place part of the blame on Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin.

    “We’ve seen more threats and actual attacks in the past 18 months than we’ve seen at any given period over the past 15 years,” claimed Potok.

    So, how bad are these threats and groups?

  • Al Gore speaks

    After being chastised for remaining silent during the investigation of climate scientists for purposely altering facts to maintain their respective cash flows, Al Gore has finally spoken up in the pages of the New York Times. I suspect his carbon credit voodoo has suffered mightily and his own cash flow is stalling. But here’s what I read;

    It is true that the climate panel published a flawed overestimate of the melting rate of debris-covered glaciers in the Himalayas, and used information about the Netherlands provided to it by the government, which was later found to be partly inaccurate. In addition, e-mail messages stolen from the University of East Anglia in Britain showed that scientists besieged by an onslaught of hostile, make-work demands from climate skeptics may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law.

    But the scientific enterprise will never be completely free of mistakes. What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged. It is also worth noting that the panel’s scientists — acting in good faith on the best information then available to them….

    Um, they lied about the actual data, conspired to defraud the UN and used irrelevant anecdotal evidence and called it Science! The scientific enterprise might never be free of mistakes, but it is too much to ask that it be free of lies and fraud?

    The heavy snowfalls this month have been used as fodder for ridicule by those who argue that global warming is a myth, yet scientists have long pointed out that warmer global temperatures have been increasing the rate of evaporation from the oceans, putting significantly more moisture into the atmosphere — thus causing heavier downfalls of both rain and snow in particular regions, including the Northeastern United States.

    The most often repeated phrase in discussions about the weather this year around the US is “I blame Al Gore”. In this paragraph, Gore explains why there is more moisture in the air, but he doesn’t explain the most important part – why does this evaporation return to earth as snow, rather than rain, as it would if we were really experiencing warmer temperatures?

    Al Gore is either a retard or a snake oil salesman. Anyone still listening to a word he says?
