  • Keep Harvard out of range

    Peter, a student at Harvard, sends us a link from the Harvard Crimson written by student Sandra Korn entitled “Keep ROTC out of Range“. Obviously, Korn is a student for a reason – she teeters on the edge of being an ignorant twit in her opinion piece. Korn tries to make the point that allowing Harvard to reinstate the ROTC program in the event that the military’s policy of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is rescinded shouldn’t be a foregone conclusion. She makes several false allegations to illustrate her blunt point;

    [T]he U.S. Department of Defense has faced allegations of abuse ranging from torturing prisoners at Guantanamo Bay to training Latin American soldiers in anti-humanitarian tactics and principles at the School of the Americas. The Iraq War alone has seen torture at Abu Ghraib, the Haditha massacre, and the horrifying shootings by Blackwater military contractors in Baghdad, as well as approximately 100,000 civilian deaths. Wikileaks recently exposed that within the last decade, the U.S. armed forces have engaged in countless non-humanitarian and debatably illegal practices in Iraq and Afghanistan. The U.S. has provided military aid in support of Israel’s aggressive actions against Palestinian civilians.

    Sandra only has allegations, yet in her mind those allegations prove guilt. “Torturing prisoners” is completely a judgment call. If waterboarding is the worst thing that happened to prisoners, they weren’t tortured. The Abu Ghraib incident was carried out by soldiers themselves. Naked pyramids weren’t concocted in the halls of the Pentagon.

    Sandra, did you notice that no one has been convicted in the Haditha case yet? I wonder why. If you’reconvinced that the military is training Latin American soldiers to commit atrocities against their own populations, maybe you should talk to talk to some one who was actually at the School instead of the paranoid peacenik professors who’ve obviously wrongly informed you.

    Time and again, Korn praises the people serving in the military, yet she charges that the “Department of Defense” committed all of these things she considers horrible. Where is this machine called the Department of Defense? The people she claims to admire are the folks who would have to commit these “crimes” – there is no one to blame except real people.

    So I submit that the government cut off all of the funding and grants to Harvard until they stop churning out utter twits like Sandra Korn.

  • US royalty exempted from security procedures

    Wonder why the government officials aren’t all that concerned about the new “security measures” that the TSA has adopted for travelers? Well, that’s because they’re mostly exempted from the groping and poking. Michelle Malkin writes;

    You’ve heard of the “no-fly” list.

    Now get a load of the no-grope list — a roster of the privileged federal officials and politicians who don’t have to be subjected to TSA’s grabby hands.

    So much for equal protection and the civilian servants of the American people. Of course, there’s a solution that we can apply in 2012 to bring them down to our level.

    ADDED: I just saw TSA’s John Pistole on Fox & Friends. He explained that the reason these government officials don’t need to be patted down is because they have their own armed escorts. So I guess if the rest of America shows up with their own armed escorts, we can be exempted from pat downs.

  • Jesse Jackson wants to send the rich to war

    ROS sent us a link from Right Scoop which posts a Jesse Jackson video in which the race pimp brings up the issue of starting the draft again. Jackson’s reasoning, of course, is to send the rich to war because his trade is class warfare. Of course, first you have to accept that the rich don’t want to go to war and the only reasons everyone else joins the military is for the money.

    Yeah, I joined because I was drooling over the prospect of that fat $256 monthly paycheck. And that $55/month tax free jump pay was just icing on the cake. And I reenlisted for that $2100 parceled out over three years. Good times, good times.

    I remember before the 2004 election Charlie Rangel tried to restart the draft for the same reasons. Somehow, the rumor of the draft morphed into Bush restarting the draft with MTV’s crowd pushing the rumor on it’s idiot audience.

    Everyone seems to forget that it was Republicans who stopped the draft – that evil Nixon guy. Jimmy Carter restarted the registration in 1979 when it started to become apparent that the world was becoming a dangerous place with a weakened US military. He knew he’d have to put people in the military with threat of prison to back him up because he’d made the military too hard to man otherwise.

    Of course, Jesse Jackson doesn’t explain what we’d do with all of those draftees – the services are all making their recruiting goals. There is such a thing as too many people, ya know. Are recruiters going to turn good solid enlistees away while we send a bunch of people to training that don’t want to be there? That makes sense…not even a little.

    If we need to draft anyone it’s politicians, race pimps and journalists so they’ll stop shooting off their fat mouths about shit they haven’t spent a minute investigating. But, then Jackson is just mouthing populist platitudes so the ignorant masses will throw money at him.

  • CAIR offers solution for Muslim women at body searches

    COB6 sends an article that puts my mind at ease about Muslim women being patted down at airports. Apparently the Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, has issued a travel advisory for Muslims related to the body scanners and searches;

    It goes on to make special recommendations for Muslim women wearing a hijab covering their face. The advisory says women are to inform the officer they are only to pat down the head and neck and says “They should not subject you to a full-body or partial body pat-down.” They also recommend that women should be permitted to pat themselves down and “have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands.”

    Barack Obama’s Homeland Security Czar, Janet Napolitano, is considering changes to the procedures to address the issues raised by CAIR.

    I went to the CAIR advisory on their website and I can’t find any reference to the Homeland Security Department, so at this point the patting themselves down solution being considered by DHS is a rumor, regardless of how plausible it might sound.

    If the measure is adopted, I guess the rest of us should offer the same to TSA…equal protection, right?

  • Center for American Progress: Use the troops to make policy

    Rurik sent me a link to Gateway Pundit which linked to The Blaze which in turn linked to the Center For American Progress, a Soros-funded group that offered options for the president to make and enforce policy even though he has no control over the law-making body in Congress.

    The U.S. Constitution and the laws of our nation grant the president significant authority to make and implement policy. These authorities can be used to ensure positive progress on many of the key issues facing the country through:

    * Executive orders
    * Rulemaking
    * Agency management
    * Convening and creating public-private partnerships
    * Commanding the armed forces
    * Diplomacy

    The ability of President Obama to accomplish important change through these powers should not be underestimated.

    I have no idea why they call these organizations “think tanks” since apparently there’s no thinking going on there. It’d probably more accurate to call this one a “wishful thinking tank”. It’s highly unlikely that military leaders would turn their charges on the American people over policy decisions like healthcare, and clean energy. Just because VoteVets battles in the political arena for these issues, that doesn’t mean the rest of the military will follow their example.

  • Zombie presents Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco

    For those of you who don’t like Sarah Palin or Alaska, our buddy Zombie presents;

    Here’s the link, but I warn you it’s pretty extremely (Not safe for work) graphic…after all it’s San Francisco.

  • But, but, but…we’re the ones with the guns

    1stCavRVN11B sends us a link to Gateway Pundit who links to Verum Serum in which loony Leftist Ted Rall calls for a violent revolution against those of us who are sitting at work and at home enjoying life;

    A war is coming. At stake: our lives, the planet, freedom, living. The government, the corporations, and the extreme right are prepared to coalesce into an Axis of Evil. Are you going to fight back? Will you do whatever it takes, including taking up arms?…

    Oh, I’m scared. A bunch of stick boys swarming over us in their Priuses reeking of Starbucks scones. I’m shaking in my boots. How cartoonish.

    The millions of partisans who follow Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and right-wing televangelists happen to be the best-armed people around, and they despise just about everyone who doesn’t think and pray like them.

    Yep, that’s pretty much me – especially the “best armed” part. My smallest caliber handgun is 10 millimeter. And I pretty much despise anyone who hasn’t spent a day in uniform…or married to someone who was in uniform. The religion, Rush Limbaugh and Fox thing doesn’t take up too much of my life, but I’ll defend myself and my family against anyone who thinks I need killin’ because those are the reasons I’m the way I am.

    They will act to stop teenage sluts from getting abortions, teach n*ggers a lesson, and slaughter those spics, dots, and everyone else who doesn’t fit into their vision of what and who is right…

    I don’t even care about those people, so why would I want to teach them anything?

    I want to kick people in the ass.

    Better bring your lunch, Rall, cuz you’ll be kicking my ass all day.

    I want you to see that revolt is a good idea, and that it has never been more necessary.

    It’s not necessary, but bring it on, man. We’re ready. By the way, you can’t legally buy a weapon if you have a recent drug conviction. Or if you’ve been declared legally insane…so you might want to stop and think about your revolution for a moment.

    Here’s the big pussy Rall on MSNBC;

    When the stick boys come for us, Rall is mine.

  • Scare mongering in Florida

    ROS sends a link about rapper Uncle Luke who’s out scaring Floridians in his latest column “Democrats Got Tea Bagged All Night Long”;

    “Now, all the African Americans who stayed home have no right to complain when new Gov. and fraud veteran Rick Scott puts up armed security checkpoints and barbed wire fences around every housing project in Florida. Welfare recipients can’t moan when the state drug tests them before issuing food stamps.”

    Luke, whose music with 2 Live Crew was ruled too obscene to sell in the early ’90s by a Southern Florida District Court Judge, continued to argue that the Democratic Party themselves were responsible for the Republican electoral victories in his home state, particularly former Congressman Kendrick Meek’s failure to rest the Senate seat vacated by Republican Mel Martinez.

    Reminiscent of the Bush years when ads were run that George Bush was going to suspend the 14th Amendment and every black church would be burned to ground. And James Bird’s daughter said that electing George Bush would be like dragging her father behind a pick up truck all over again.
