Be glad you’re not in Germany, folks. Let’s just say that the Environmental minister has some, um, interesting ideas about how to “save the planet”. Oh, and in case you’re wondering: yeah, she’s a Socialist.

The comments to the linked article make good reading.

Bernie Sanders; Bush’s “disasterous blunder” created ISIS

    Bernie-Sanders

Bernie Sanders is a moron. I remember when he was the mayor of Burlington, Vermont and he was the butt of every joke among the instructor detachment at the University of Vermont’s ROTC department. He used to get votes there by calling himself the “Communist mayor”. These days he’s “an independent”, but he’s still a commie in his heart. But according to the Washington Times, he was on CNN blaming President Bush for ISIS.

“We are here today because of the disastrous blunder of the Bush-Cheney era, which got us into this war in Iraq in the first place, which then developed the can of worms that we’re trying to deal with right now.”

Mr. Sanders expressed his concern about the possibility of getting dragged into “perpetual warfare.”

The reason, Mr. Sanders, that this is becoming “perpetual warfare” is because the politicians won’t fight the war against these goat ropers the way it needs to be fought. It wasn’t Bush’s fault that three Democrat Congressmen stood on the roof of Saddam Hussein’s palace declaing that Hussein was more credible than the President. It wasn’t Bush’s fault that Leftist “human shields” went to Iraq to protect Hussein from shock and awe. It’s not Bush’s fault that Democrats fought him at every turn during the war. It’s not Bush’s fault that the Pelosi/Reid spent two years tryign to defund the troops while they were engaged with al Qaeda in Iraq. It’s not Bush’s fault that Harry Reid declared the “Surge” in Iraq failure before it even began. It’s not Bush’s fault that this administration’s only strategy in Iraq was to withdraw. It’s not Bush’s fault that this administration has been unwilling to kill al Qaeda in droves.

It is to Bush’s credit that this is the first time troops will be going to fight in Iraq without Saddam Hussein at the country’s helm, though.

I agree that this has been going on way longer than it should have been, but it’s the political will of this country and it’s politicians that is at fault. I doubt that Comrade Sanders is wishing that Saddam Hussein and his sons still ruled over the country and I’m pretty sure that Comrade Sanders is secretly glad in his heart that the Hussein family is gone – but Hussein knew how he could throw the country into disarray. He issued copies of the movie “Blackhawk Down” to his commanders before the invasion as a demonstration of how to drain the will of Americans and their politicians and eventually win a war against us – because everyone on the planet knows that we want to “fight fair”. That doesn’t work in that part of the world.

When Comrade Sanders and the other Washington generals decide that they want to kill terrorists in greater numbers, that’s when the “perpetual warfare” will end. In the meantime, STFU, Commissar.

    Seriously.

The late author Robert A. Heinlein said it best:  “Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.”

  • And In the “Idiots Being Idiots” Department . . . .

Here’s a look at some recent bureaucratic inanity, courtesy mostly of our PC libidiot “brethren”.

And, just for our “global warming”    propagandists   aficionados:

Finally:  just because I like this – and I think it fits here quite nicely – here ya go (smile):

  • Why So Many “Global Warming Skeptics?

Well, according to one liberal billionaire – a hedge fund manager – it’s because 99.5% of all Americans are “not super sophisticated”.   Presumably that’s his polite way of saying it’s because we “just don’t know any better”.

It’ can’t possibly be because recent climate data doesn’t support the thesis; that the theory is completely the opposite of what was accepted climate science 40 years ago; that current climatologists never have and still cannot adequately explain the Medieval Warm period and the “little Ice Age”; that there appears to have quite possibly been widespread    tampering with   “correction” to actual raw data to support a man-made global warming hypothesis; the fact that the results have been overly sensationalized, possibly deliberately (Himalayan glaciers, anyone?); and the fact that for years “global warming” research was a key to getting research dollars? Or maybe that a sizeable minority of actual, you know, scientists think the thesis is currently unproven and may well be false?

No, none of those could possibly be among the reasons people might doubt that global warming    propaganda    thesis.  It must be because those who doubt the global warming    propaganda    thesis are “not super sophisticated”.

Yo, fella: last time I checked, someone who was “sophisticated” typically was willing to examine facts and think for themselves. They didn’t usually simply accept and parrot whatever trendy BS, prevailing opinion, or half-baked theory was tossed their way for consumption. Sounds to me like you’re the one simply following the crowd here – “bubba”.

Now, why don’t you just run along get stick to making money from speculative and often-risky investments. Regarding that, you might actually know what you’re talking about.

Sheesh.  Liberal hypocrisy never ceases to amaze.

  • A Democrat Wart Deep in the Heart of Texas

If ever there existed a better example of shooting one’s self in the foot than what Rosemary Lehmberg, the Democrat district attorney of Travis County, Texas, did over this weekend, I cannot recall it in my seven decades. We are aware that in facing the coming election the Democrat party is becoming frantic but we didn’t think it had advanced to the need for self-immolation.

But, liar, liar, set herself on fire is precisely what that desperate Democrat did when her special prosecutor indicted Texas governor, Rick Perry, for carrying out his constitutionally-determined, gubernatorial responsibilities. From the moment the indictment was announced, the Internet was treated to devastating video recordings of the drunken driving arrest in Austin last year of the self-same Rosemary Lehmberg, stopped by her own cops after weaving in a potentially deadly manner into oncoming traffic as well as the lane reserved for particularly vulnerable bicyclists. On the front seat next to Rosemary was a partially consumed bottle of vodka, one of the dozens making up the 23 gallons she has reportedly consumed in the past 15 months.

Rosie was, in the vernacular, sh*t-faced, blowing a breathalyzer at almost three times the legal limit. And now, thanks to the miracle of the world-wide web, the whole planet is availed of the opportunity to witness Rosie’s self-destructive behavior upon initial apprehension, as well as her aggressive and threatening responses to being treated by authorities as what she clearly was, a mean, stubborn, uncooperative drunk operating a motor vehicle under such self-impairment as to present a clear and present danger to the citizens she is sworn to protect and serve.

Go here if you haven’t already and see what the immature but staunch Democrat majority in Travis County thinks is a suitable representative of their party to enforce their laws. This gross, vulgar creature could be a poster child for what the Democrat party has become: a power-hungry political vulture that has completely lost sight of what the once great and respectable Democrat Party of Texas at one time stood for. Their big gun to knock Rick Perry out of the 2016 presidential campaign is this slovenly, decadent, drunken, district attorney who is apparently shameless, as she had to know these videos, up to now mostly confined to Texas, would go viral.

Democrats enjoy an island of influence in the otherwise red, Republican Texas, in Travis County, home of the Texas capital, for one reason and one reason only, the University of Texas and its radicalized campus that festers as some sort of malignant growth deep in the heart of Texas. It’s not as lethal as in a melanoma, but more like an annoying, unsightly wart. Look at those videos of Rosemary Lehmberg, the very best the Democrats have to offer in their fight against Texas Republicans, and tell me I’m wrong in believing that this woman is exactly that, an extremely annoying, but ultimately harmless political wart Deep in the Heart of Texas. Rosie, you just got your fifteen minutes of fame and, Sweetie, hate to tell ya, they ain’t pretty.

But then again, considering that you’re a Democrat, you just could be presidential material…

  • “Well, who was the a**hole that did this?”

With the recent 40th anniversary of Nixon’s resignation in 1974 about a week ago, there have been a number of articles about Watergate in the media.  That’s to be expected.

Predictably, there have also been more “hit piece” articles about Nixon in the media recently – like this one from MSNBC.  That’s also to be expected. Nixon and the mainstream media hated each other.  The media and the left still hate him with a passion even today, though he’s been dead over 20 years.

One of the typical allegations made by some in the media (and many leftists) is that Nixon ordered the Watergate break-in.  It’s strongly implied – but not stated outright – in the MSNBC hit piece linked above.

That allegation has been known to be false for over 40 years.  Indeed, proof of that fact is on the famous “smoking gun” tape that sealed Nixon’s fate when it became public on 5 August 1974.

Still, some on the left (like the author of the MSNBC hit piece above) still today refuse to admit the truth about that.  They keep trotting out the old canard.

Don’t believe me?  Well, decide for yourself.  Here’s a link to a transcript of part of that 23 June 1972 conversation between Haldeman and Nixon – from the famous “smoking gun” tape itself.

That conversation clearly shows that Nixon had no clue who ordered the Watergate break-in.  Indeed, the title of this article is a direct quote of Nixon’s question to Haldeman asking who had ordered the Watergate break-in.  (Other sources give the quotation as “Who was the a**hole who ordered it?”, but after listening to audio from the tape personally I think this source seems more accurate.)

Still don’t believe me? Hell, here’s a link to the audio; listen for yourself. Pay particular attention to the tone of voice in Nixon’s question.  It occurs around 4:14 or so in the linked audio.

It seems quite clear to me that the man was incredulous that someone had been so stupid.  It also seems clear that he had no prior knowledge of the break-in.  YMMV.  (It likewise is manifestly obvious that Nixon approved the Watergate cover-up – but for 40+ years that has never been in dispute.  It’s also a very different thing than ordering the break-in.)

Nixon had many faults.  IMO, he was an unscrupulous bastard and a shameless liar.  He clearly conspired with others to obstruct justice.  He deserved his fate for attempting to be above the law, and for trying to use the machinery of the Federal government to pervert justice and cover up the Watergate break-in.  He was damned lucky to escape prison.

But whatever Nixon’s faults, he was no one’s fool.  He certainly wasn’t stupid enough to have ordered Watergate personally – and hard evidence indicates he didn’t.  Yet there are some in the media who keep making that false claim.

Sheesh.  You’d think that the press could quit lying about the man more than 20 years after his death.  The simple truth about Watergate is damning enough.

  • Limousine Liberal Sightings

Liberals are “friends of the little guy”, right? I mean, they’re always speaking out against the rich as being “greedy, evil bastards”.

Well, let’s look at one such guy.

Law Prof Who Specializes in Poverty Makes $205,400 – Teaching One Class Per Semester

A couple of comments. First: the guy consistently blames one political party (I’ll let you guess which) for waging an “unforgivable war on poor people”. But he does this while making more than $200k annually, and owning real estate worth around $1.5M. And while married to a lady who pulls down over $400k annually in salary.   I’d love to know how much he gives to charity annually – you know, to “help the poor”.

And second: the guy (and his wife) both “work” in academia – at state-supported public universities, so tax dollars pay their salaries.  But he’s so liberal (and so controversially outspoken in support of liberal causes) that his employer reportedly asks that any op-eds he publishes include the disclaimer that “He doesn’t speak for (name of university)”.

But the tool above is not alone. After all: who could forget Robert Reich, that “good   Marxist   liberal” and former Labor Secretary currently teaching one class at UC-Berkeley – at a salary of about $240k a year.

The subject of his classes? Income inequality.

    I sh!t you not.

    Freaking hypocrites.
