    Canada’s PM against illegal immigration

    The darling of the world’s Leftists, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, suddenly came out and warned against illegal immigration to America’s hat according to Fox News;

    “Canada is an opening and welcoming society, but let me be clear. We are also a country of laws,” Trudeau said in remarks after a meeting in Montreal with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

    “Entering Canada irregularly is not an advantage,” the prime minister doubled down. “There are rigorous immigration and customs rules that will be followed. Make no mistake.”

    Illegal border crossings to Canada spiked in July, reaching more than triple June’s 884 crossings. Most immigrants enter through Quebec.

    Yeah, but the United States is supposed to welcome tens of thousands every month. I guess now Trudy will earn the hatred that President Trump gets from the Left. He became the anti-Trump in January when Trudy tweeted;

    To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith,” The prime minister tweeted. “Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada.”

    Welcome to the Thunderdome, Canada.

  • Sergio Jose Martinez; deported 20 times

    Sergio Jose Martinez; deported 20 times

    Sergio Jose Martinez was arrested this week in Oregon when he sexually assaulted a 65-year-old woman and stole her car. While police were investigating that crime, he attacked another woman with a knife. According to KOIN, his arrest record goes back to 2003 when he went through a drug and alcohol treatment program when he was 15 years old.

    Martinez moved to Portland within the last three years. He appears to be transient with no fixed address. He has used a Northwest Portland shelter as his mailing address. Martinez told officials that he picks up construction jobs to make money.

    Martinez is a meth and marijuana user and told the sheriff’s office alcohol is his most serious addition. Earlier this year, he told jail staff that he consumes four to six 24 oz. beers per day. In the past, he said he has consumed as much as 10 beers per day.

    KGW reports that he’s been deported about 20 times to his native Mexico;

    According to court documents filed in March 2017, Martinez has a history of illegal entry into the United States. He has been a transient in the Portland area for more than a year and has been deported 20 times.

    Martinez has at least five probation violations for re-entering the United States. His most recent removal was in November 2016, according to the March court documents.

    Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer against Martinez, asking authorities to notify them before releasing Martinez to allow ICE to take him into custody. The Department of Homeland Security said a detainer was requested for Martinez in December 2016, but he was released into the community and authorities did not notify ICE.

    Earlier this year, Multnomah County leaders and Sheriff Mike Reese wrote a letter to the community saying, “The Sheriff’s Office does not hold people in county jails on ICE detainers or conduct any immigration enforcement actions.”

    Good for Sheriff Reese taking the side of criminals above his own law-abiding citizenry.

    Prior to the July 24 arrest, Martinez’s criminal record shows a felony conviction for burglary and three misdemeanor convictions for battery, theft, and obstructing a public officer. The court document also said he told investigators in March that he has a long history of using methamphetamine and was currently using on a daily basis.

    The new charges Martinez is facing include first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery (two counts), second-degree assault, first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy and first-degree burglary.

    I guess the sheriff won’t be happy until he can add “murder” to Martinez’ personal history.

  • Stevie Wonder Could Have Seen This Coming – Part II

    Headline says it all:

    Crime drops in Phoenix after city drops
    sanctuary city status, former cops say

    Stands to reason, actually.  While some illegal immigrants are doubtless in the US in search of employment and/or because of bad conditions in their native lands, a significant number of them are criminals.  It doesn’t take a huge fraction of criminals in an area to have a measurable impact on crime statistics.

    Further, the criminals among those illegal immigrants have brought more than themselves here illegally.  In many cases, they’ve also brought their criminal gang ties and practices along for the ride.  Because of that, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that giving “sanctuary” to illegal immigrants also means giving sanctuary to some number of illegal immigrant gangbangers – as well as giving them a potential base of operations in which they can commit their crimes.

    I’ve got no problem with anyone who immigrates to the US lawfully.  But I do have a problem with those who didn’t.

    And I have an even bigger problem with public officials who look the other way at criminal activity.  Officials condoning “sanctuary” for those breaking Federal law are doing exactly that.

  • Congressman Jared Huffman and the word soup of illegal immigration

    Congressman Jared Huffman and the word soup of illegal immigration

    Someone sent us a link to a story in San Rafael, California about Hugo Mejia, an illegal immigrant who was picked up by Travis Air Force Base security personnel when he showed up for some drywall work there. He showed those people the driver license that California issues to illegal immigrants and security ran his social security number through their system and discovered that he was an illegal alien, ,so they snagged him and handed him over to Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). Now their local Congressman, Jared Huffman, is coming down on the side of politics instead of the law;

    According to Congressman Jared Huffman, Mejia’s only offense is showing up to work.

    […]

    “Mr. Mejia is being detained in prison conditions with violent criminals. He is a law abiding, upstanding member of this community,” Huffman said.

    In 2001, Mejia was caught trying to illegally cross the U.S. Mexico border and as a result has been placed in expedited deportation proceedings.

    Congressman Huffman says they are appealing to ice to try and give Mr. Mejia an opportunity for due process before he’s sent even farther away from his family.

    His only offense is showing up for work…well except for the offense of crossing the border between our countries without the proper permissions, which, by the way, is a crime.

    In order to maintain security on our military bases, security personnel need to know who is coming on those bases – when someone of doubtful reputation enters through those gates, it is incumbent on those security personnel to detain them and turn them over to law enforcement. If Senor Mejia was indeed “a law abiding, upstanding member of this community”, he would have no problem getting through those gates. But he’s a criminal.

  • Constantino Banda-Acosta; deportee 15 times

    Fox News reports that Constantino Banda-Acosta has been deported from the US 15 times before he ran a stop sign in San Diego and injured 6-year-old Lennox Lake who was coming home from Disneyland with his family.

    Banda-Acosta was being held on $100,000 bail and had an arraignment set for Wednesday. He was arrested in 2006 on a DUI charge, had his license suspended three other times and also was accused of a domestic violence incident by his estranged wife….

    San Diego mayor Kevin Faulconer says his city isn’t a sanctuary city;

    Faulconer said the designation doesn’t fit because after an arrest a background check is done and information on immigration status is provided to the Feds. Plus, ICE is informed of release dates.

    Cities like San Francisco, which is a “sanctuary city,” doesn’t share that information.

    “We have a system that works in San Diego,” Faulconer told 10News reporter Michael Chen. “We’re one of the safest big cities in America, and the reason is we have that police department collaboration with our neighborhoods, with our communities. We work very closely with our federal partners.”

    Elements of the San Diego community, however, aren’t so law-abiding;

    “The federal government is attempting to force local governments, including local education institutions, to become an arm in their attempt to round up, detain and deport people in our communities and we have made it very clear to the federal government that we refuse to participate in that type of action,” said Richard Barrera, president of the San Diego Unified School District’s Board of Education. “In our schools, every day, we hear about young people, children, our students who are afraid that when they get home, their parents are not going to be there. We have parents, who fear that when they send their kids to school, they might not see their kids at the end of the day.”

    I wonder how those parents feel about their kids wandering the streets where DUI criminals are driving without licenses on those same streets.

    Thanks to Mick for the tip.

  • ACLU Issues Texas ‘Travel Advisory’

    The American Civil Liberties Union has issued a “travel advisory” for folks who traveling through Texas because of Texas’ new law SB4;

    The law gives a green light to police officers in the state to investigate a person’s immigration status during a routine traffic stop, leading to widespread racial profiling, baseless scrutiny, and illegal arrests of citizens and non-citizens alike presumed to be “foreign” based on how they look or sound. The travel alert applies to all travelers to Texas, including U.S. travelers from other states and U.S. citizens. In addition, this alert applies to all encounters with federal, state, county law enforcement including local police and sheriffs.

    “The ACLU’s goal is to protect all Texans and all people traveling through Texas — regardless of their immigration status — from illegal harassment by law enforcement,” said Lorella Praeli, ACLU director of immigration policy and campaigns.

    So, it looks like the only people will be targets of this so-called harassment will be illegal aliens. Isn’t the ACLU playing into the hands of the evil Texan governor?

    The text of the law specifically prohibits discrimination;

    Sec. 752.054. DISCRIMINATION PROHIBITED. A local entity,
    campus police department, or a person employed by or otherwise
    under the direction or control of the entity or department may not
    consider race, color, religion, language, or national origin while
    enforcing immigration laws except to the extent permitted by the
    United States Constitution or Texas Constitution.

    Yeah, that’s not what the ACLU opposes – what they don’t like is Section 752.053 – the part that prohibits sanctuary cities and counties. SB4 doesn’t mandate that officers search willy-nilly for illegal aliens, violating everyone’s constitutional rights – it just prohibits subordinate government entities from ignoring the immigration laws in this country.

    But, yeah the message of the Texas government and the ACLU seems to be the same one – illegal immigrants should stay out of Texas.

    I don’t know why, but the ACLU is sending these propaganda messages to our inbox.

  • Justice delayed is sure as hell no justice…

    Well pardon me dear readers, but Ol’ Poe’s skeptimeter is pegging out right now at the announcement by the Feds yesterday that an arrest has been made in the shooting of Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, who was murdered Dec. 14, 2010, with what was later determined to be one of Barack Obama’s notorious Fast and Furious weapons. Mind you, I’m not at all unhappy with the fact that the rat bastard cartel member who gunned down Terry is in custody, it’s the timing of the event that has my skeptimeter red-lining.
    Think about it for a moment; Obama and his justice department had six years to track down and capture a Mexican cartel member for the murder of an American law enforcement officer on American soil but, somehow, with all the law enforcement resources of this country at Obama’s beck and call, they just couldn’t make that happen. Yet with less than a mere three months of a new administration, we suddenly know exactly where to look for this perp badly wanted by American LEO’s everywhere?

    Ponder that for a moment and then tell me that you believe that Barack Obama, his justice department, and his Democrat party truly wanted this killer in custody. Let me help you out a bit: Fast and Furious was one of the greatest embarrassments of Obama’s reign because it exposed the willingness of the Democrat party to see innocent people murdered as long as it furthered their aspirations to negate the provisions of the 2d Amendment for the citizens of this country. Once it had been halted and exposed for what it actually was, Democrats wanted it forgotten as quickly as possible and RINO Republicans in Congress, which is to say most of them, couldn’t accommodate them quickly enough, despite the efforts of a brave few in the House.

    The last thing in the world that the Obama regime wanted was the arrest of the cartel killer who executed our Border Patrol agent and all the publicity that would go with it in a trial during a period leading up to a presidential election. Who knew whether or not criminal trial testimony might reawaken the Fast and Furious scandal and possibly even reveal details of that criminally misguided political operation that would prove troublesome for the Democrat candidate in 2016?

    As I said, I’m glad that Mexican rat bastard cartel member is finally going to face justice for killing an American Border Patrol agent. I just wish the sorry rat bastard from the Chicago Cartel, who handed him the weapon and then let him run free for six years, was going to do the same. He’s every bit as culpable as that hijo de puta sicario who pulled that trigger.

  • Oscar Perez-Rangel; illegal immigrant and felon arrested

    Oscar Perez-Rangel; illegal immigrant and felon arrested

    Mick sends us a link to the story of Oscar Perez-Rangel who lived in a home that was operating a daycare center. Apparently, he raped a 12-year-old girl who was being cared for after school at that daycare center. Perez didn’t work there, he was just living in the home.

    ICE said in a statement to FOX 5:

    ““On Friday, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers arrested Oscar Perez-Rangel, a citizen and national of Mexico, on immigration violations at his residence in Herndon, Virginia. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Fairfax County Police Department to face local charges. Perez-Rangel was previously removed from the U.S., and has felony convictions for attempted robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony and illegal re-entry after removal. ICE has lodged a detainer on him at Fairfax County’s Adult Detention Center.”

    The daycare center was operating legally until their permit was yanked earlier this week as a result of the arrest.
