    From Worcester, Massachusetts;

    An armed robbery suspect is now in the hospital after being shot by a store clerk in Worcester.

    The suspect tried to rob the “No Name” convenience store Saturday night by threatening a customer with a knife, police said.

    The clerk then shot the suspect, according to police, who then ran out of the store.

    That suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He faces several charges.

    From Daytona Beach, Florida;

    In a Holly Hill police incident report, Heriberto Feliciano, 28, of Holly Hill, told officers that he was locking up the pizza store for the night when he was attacked by a man wearing a clown mask. Feliciano said he was hit with a wooden post until it broke and then the suspect tried to stab him with a pair of scissors, police said.

    Feliciano suffered injuries to his face and shoulder and his relatives drove him to the hospital, police said.

    Feliciano said that during the attack he was able to reach for his firearm, for which he has a concealed permit, and shot the suspect four to five times at close range, a police report states.

    Feliciano could not be reached Sunday.

    Officers arriving at the business found the suspect suffering from gunshot wounds. A police incident report indicates the suspect was laying in the middle of the parking lot of the business with a clown mask and scissors on the ground near him.

    The suspect, who was unresponsive, was transported to the Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach where he died of his injuries, Aldrich said.

    From Santa Ana, California;

    A 60-year-old man in Santa Ana was robbing a restaurant early Saturday morning and taking cash from the register when a second man at the drive-thru window took out a gun, started shooting and struck the robbery suspect.

    The robbery suspect was shot twice in the upper torso area according to the Santa Ana Police Department, and the shooting suspect drove off. No description of the shooting suspect was immediately available.

    After the chaotic scene, the robber did not get far and collapsed outside the Cozy Corner Drive-In, where the shooting took place. Police took the robbery suspect, who was also a shooting victim, to a nearby hospital, where he remained on Saturday being treated for gunshot wounds.

    From San Antonio, Texas;

    A security guard shot a robbery suspect early Sunday morning on the northeast side, according to police.

    It started in the parking lot of “Spice: A Gentleman’s Club” on Perrin Beitel around 3:30 a.m..

    A victim told the security guard he was robbed, and the security guard chased after the suspect.

    The security guard chased him to an apartment complex across the street, where the suspect pulled out a gun. Police say the guard pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect several times.

    The suspect was taken to SAMMC in critical condition.

    Dallas police said a suspect is in the hospital after trying to rob someone in Oak Lawn late Friday night.

    Police responded to the area of Cedar Springs Road and Hawthorne Avenue around 3:25 a.m. after a person said someone tried to rob them.

    Police said the victim pulled a handgun and shot the suspect to protect himself and the suspect fled to a hospital.

    Good news for Detroit, Michigan man;

    The owner of an Ypsilanti meat company who fatally shot a robber in the head Wednesday in Eastern Market will not face charges, authorities said.

    The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said the 35-year-old owner of Marshall Johnson’s Wholesale Meats, who has a concealed pistol license, acted in lawful self-defense.

    “He had an honest and reasonable belief that the use of deadly force was necessary to prevent imminent death and/or great bodily harm to himself or another person. For this reason the warrant has been denied,” officials said.

    The incident occurred at 10:20 a.m. near Interstate 75 Service Drive and Riopelle Street, according to prosecutors.

    An officer patrolling the area heard a gunshot and when he arrived at the scene, he found Edward J. Ross, 58, of Detroit, lying face down in the street.

    The 35-year-old business owner was standing nearby and told the officer that he shot the Ross, who died of a single gunshot wound.

    Police reported Ross was inside a truck stealing boxes of meat with another man. There was a scuffle between the men and the truck driver and the business owner witnessed it.

    The business owner, who was armed with a handgun, believed Ross was reaching for a weapon and shot him.

    From Wisner, Nebraska;

    Police and rescue personnel were called to a residence in Wisner Thursday morning just before 7:00 a.m., according to the Cuming County Attorney.

    They say that Jabin Sateren, 26, of Wisner, was shot by the owner after Sateren tried to forcibly gain entrance to the residence.

    Sateren was taken to an area hospital before being transferred to an Omaha hospital.

    No charges will be filed against the homeowner.

    An update to yesterday’s story from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina;

    The Roanoke Rapids Police Department says Wade Carter, 54, of Roanoke Rapids, will be charged with first degree burglary when he is cleared from the hospital.

    Roanoke Rapids police say the home invasion happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Raleigh Street.

    The homeowner told police they awoke after hearing a noise, retrieved a firearm, and then confronted the person inside the home.

    Police say the homeowner shot three times, hitting the person at least once before they ran from the home.

    Around 4:15 p.m., officers were told that there was a man at the hospital with a possible gunshot wound, which turned out to be Carter.

    “The occupant reported to have been awoken after hearing a noise, retrieved a firearm, then confronted the suspect inside the residence,” the news release said.

    “The occupant discharged a firearm three times, striking the suspect at least once before the suspect fled on foot.”

    Police said that residents are asked to report any suspicious activities and to secure homes by locking doors and windows.

    As of 1 p.m. Thursday, Roanoke Rapids police and area law enforcement agencies are actively searching for the suspect, officials said.

    From Dallas, Texas;

    One armed homeowner shot and injured a person who tried to break into his home early Thursday morning in far south Dallas, police say.

    Police were sent to investigate a report of a home invasion around 3:20 a.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of Cliff Creek Crossing Drive.

    When they arrived, officers learned that an armed homeowner had used a pistol to fire on two people who entered his house with guns and demanded money, police said.

    One of the robbery suspects was shot multiple times and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

    The other robbery suspect fled from the scene and remains at large, authorities said.

    From Memphis, Tennessee;

    Police say the tables were turned on a Tennessee robber when he was shot by his own gun.

    Memphis detectives said a victim was able to get a hold of a gun during a robbery along Broadcrest Drive, FOX 13 reported.

    Suspect Deandre Nolen went to rob another man, when a fight ensued and the victim was able to grab Nolen’s gun and shoot him in the leg.

    Police said the victim also detained Nolen until officers arrived on the scene.

    Police say the driver was making a delivery in that area, when the he came out from the business and noticed two men attempting to steal meat from the back of his truck.

    Police said the driver got into a scuffle with one of the suspects who was armed with a box cotter. The owner of the meat company, who is a CPL holder, fired a fatal shot at the suspect.

    The driver suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, non fatal. DPD does not know at this point how the driver got that wound. The second suspect got away, and police do not know if he was armed with a gun.

    From Tuolumne, California;

    ”29-year-old Bryce Lawrence and 24-year-old Bryanna Ireland, illegally entered a rental home belonging to a elderly couple in Tuolumne City. The rental home is located next to the couple’s residence on Hodge Ave. The couple heard noises coming from their rental and walked over to investigate.

    Lawrence was subsequently shot by the homeowner who feared for his safety and the safety of his wife after they found him inside the residence. Lawrence was transported by ambulance to AHS and later flown to a Modesto area hospital for medical treatment. Ireland was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for Burglary.

    From Wichita, Kansas;

    Wichita police say a liquor store manager shot and wounded man allegedly tried to rob the store.

    Police were called Tuesday to F&K Liquors in southeast Wichita after employees reported two men walked into the store, showed a gun and demanded money.

    KAKE-TV reports the manager followed the men out of the store and fired several shots.

    An 18-year-old suspect was hit in the leg. Police spokesman Charlie Davidson says he is expected to recover and will be booked into jail for aggravated robbery when he’s released from the hospital.

    The second suspect fled but was later arrested.

    From Letcher County, Kentucky;

    Kentucky State Police tells EKB News that Adam Henrickson was shot by his uncle, Robbie Fugate, at Fugate’s residence in the Blackey community of Letcher County.

    KSP spokesperson Master Trooper Jody Sims said the two had been having problems for a couple of days and Henrickson was allegedly trying to get inside of Fugate’s residence to confront him. Sims said Fugate shot through the door, striking his nephew in the leg.

    Henrickson was taken to Whitesburg ARH Hospital and then on to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Sims said no charges have been filed at this time.

    From Dallas, Texas;

    A store clerk there told officers [Mario Luera, 32] entered the store, took a few items and even tried to take the cash register.

    The robber pushed the clerk away, who then pulled out a handgun and shot him in the leg, police said. The clerk’s name was not released.

    Luera was booked into the Dallas County Jail on a robbery charge, jail records show. His bail is pending.

    According to authorities, the girl told police she was approached by a 20- to 30-year-old man in the 19500 block of Berg Road at about 8:30 p.m.. She said the man grabbed her and the two struggled before she produced a knife she had on her and stabbed him in his side.

    The man allegedly fell to the ground and the girl ran home.

    Her mother and the girl went to the Detroit Police Department’s Eighth Precinct to make a police report.

    The girl said the same man had attempted to abduct her last year as well.

    From Gifford, Florida;

    A man who said his home had been broken into used his video surveillance system and a handgun to find and apprehend the accused burglar Sunday.

    “I checked my cameras and saw this young man moving stuff and taking stuff out of my yard,” said Elijah Lofton, who drove a short distance from his home and saw someone walking along 26th Avenue dressed just like the man he saw in the video.

    About 4:15 p.m., a woman called the Indian River Sheriff’s Office about an altercation between Lofton and the man, who deputies later identified as 43-year-old Kevin Antonio Odom, in the 4400 block of 26th.

    “I drove down here to talk with him about it and he took a swing at me,” said Lofton, 55. “He tried to run. I caught up with him.”

    When he did, Lofton brandished a handgun and ordered Odom to stay until the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrived. Lofton said he is a concealed carry weapon permit holder.
