  • Thursday Morning Feel Good Story

    Chief Tango sends us our morning feel good story today. This one takes place in Minnesota where two bouncers stopped to cash their checks after work one night and encountered two enterprising youths in the parking lot;

    VT, who is 31, saw two males approaching them as he walked to the passenger side of the car and heard the sound of a gun racking a round. A man in a baseball cap, later identified as Galloway, pointed a gun at VT and told him not to move. VT told TG, who is 26, not to move because he feared they would be shot if they did.

    When VT looked again, the man with Galloway had the handgun and approached TG on the driver’s side. The robber, wearing a stocking cap, went into the car and robbed TG of the $160 he’d just received from cashing his check.

    While TG was being robbed, VT “surreptitiously removed his wallet from his pocket and slid it between the passenger seat and the door jamb,” the complaint said. The man with the stocking cap then pointed the gun at VT and demanded money.

    “VT told the men he didn’t carry money because he bounces in a bar,” the complaint said. Galloway searched his pockets. Finding nothing, the other robber “gave VT a look of disgust and disbelief” and the two robbers backed away from the car, the complaint said.

    “VT was afraid that he and TG were going to be shot” and reached under the passenger seat to grab his Sig Sauer P250 .45-caliber handgun, which he has a permit to carry, the complaint said. “VT feared the two men didn’t believe him when he said he didn’t have any money, and he was afraid they might come back.”

    The robbers crossed into a Dairy Queen parking lot and the man in the stocking cap raised his handgun and pointed it toward TG and VT.

    VT then fired at the robbers, the complaint said, and the man in the stocking cap simultaneously fired once in VT’s direction. VT fired five times and his second shot struck Galloway.

    Unfortunately, Mr. Galloway had only been wounded in the leg, but he’s been scooped up by the local constabulary which had to use dogs to find him. Remember when you’re shooting longer distances, shoot higher than you normally would, otherwise it’s a gamble whether you’re going to hit their scrawny legs and you may end up wasting precious ammo.

    Chief Tango sends us today’s feel good story to enjoy with that muffin you’ve got there. this one is about a determined young man in Washington State who drove through the homeowner’s driveway gate with his POS Honda;

  • Tuesday morning feel good stories

    The first story this morning comes from Tennessee and it’s about three enterprising teengers who were trying to turn their lives around with someone else’s scrap metal;

    The homeowner stated that he confronted the two male suspects coming out of a room at the back of his residence, at which time they ran toward his direction, and being in fear, the homeowner discharged a firearm toward the suspects.

    The homeowner is a 69-year-old man who was home alone at the time of the incident.

    All statements that have been taken at this time corroborate the chain of events. The sheriff’s office continues to collect evidence and conduct further investigation into this case.

    Sheriff Sisk said the two teens were unarmed, but they ran toward the homeowner and he felt threatened.

    The second story comes from Texarkana where an alleged burglar was allegedly in an alleged house when he was encountered by the alleged homeowner who allegedly shot him with an alleged gun, which fired alleged bullets. Allegedly;

    It happened around 4:00 a.m. at a home in the 3400 block of Rice Street.

    Police have begun their investigation. Preliminary reports say the homeowner apparently did not know the man who allegedly broke into the house. Several people were inside the home at the time of the incident. No one else was hurt.

  • Monday morning feel good story

    UpNorth sends us this morning’s feel good story to enjoy with your coffee and muffin. This one is from Minnesota where young Gypsy Watt attempted to turn his life around in 75-year-old Charles Carlson’s home with some of Charles’ medication;

    Police say the men, who were just out of jail, when they broke into 75-year-old Charles Carlson’s home, on Fox Road near Sandstone. Both men have long criminal histories, and one had a gun.

    Carlson struggled with the intruder and managed to grab his own gun. He shot one of the intruders, Watts, who died at the scene.

    Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole tells KSTP that Watts, along with the teen, went to Carlson’s farm to steal his painkillers that he takes for pain associated with his terminal cancer.

    The teen escaped and was arrested hours later behind a flower shop in downtown Sandstone. Two others were questioned and released.

    Carlson is cooperating with investigators and is not likely to face legal consequences. The Sheriff says the shooting is believed to be a justified use of force.

    Yeah, don’t mess with old people – we’ll kill you. Dead.

  • Saturday Morning Feel Good Story

    Chief Tango sends us today’s Feel Good Stories. The first is from Missouri and involves a man who forced his way into a woman’s apartment and assaulted her;

    According to police, a woman in her 60s answered a knock at her door and a man who she didn’t know asked for someone the woman had never heard of. When she told him he had the wrong house, the man reportedly forced his way inside.

    Once inside, the woman told police the man sexually assaulted her.

    After the attack, police said the woman claimed the man started to leave the room and she was able to get a hold of a gun she had and shoot the intruder.

    The second story is from Pennsylvania where three fellows tried to turn their lives around by robbing the pizza guy with a toy gun – yeah, didn’t turn out like they planned;

    “I went to an address that looked legitimate to me. I got out of the vehicle, and three of them came around the corner. One of them walked behind me and I knew something was wrong. Then one grabbed the wings, one went over to the van and one tried going through my pockets,” Perry said.

    Perry told detectives that one of the men searched his pants pockets and one searched the vehicle for money. He said the men took off with the chicken wings, valued at almost $18, when he pulled out a gun.

    “I didn’t know if (the one searching me) had a knife so I took a couple steps back, bent over and drew my weapon. As soon as they saw that, they took off running. As they left they threw something. It turned out to be a pellet gun,” Perry said.

  • Friday night feel good story

    Yeah, I know we already had two today, but this one is worth a glance, too. It’s from Alabama, where Adric White, 18 hadn’t quite turned his life around from an armed robbery at The Original Oyster House a month ago, an escapade from which he was out on bail, young Adric decided he needed some of that big money from Family Dollar, but there popped up a hitch – a good guy with a gun;

    The Good Samaritan, who we are not identifying, told FOX10 News he was shopping at the Family Dollar on Stanton road when he noticed a masked gunman leading one of the employees to the front of the store.

    “He had the gun to his head. He had him on his knees,” said the man. “I drew my gun on him and I said ‘Hey don’t move.’ At that point he swung around and before he had a chance to aim the gun at me I fired. I didn’t want to shoot him.”

    The family of young Adric doesn’t think much of the good guy’s intervention;

    “If his (the customer) life was not in danger, if no one had a gun up to him, if no one pointed a gun at him – what gives him the right to think that it’s okay to just shoot someone?” said the relative. “You should have just left the store and went wherever you had to go in your car or whatever.”

    Um, that’s the definition of a Good Samaritan, isn’t it? Doing things for other people even though it might be hazardous to your own well-being.

  • Friday Morning Feel Good Stories

    Chief Tango sends us our feel good morning coffee stories. The first is from Minnesota where a 75-year-old confronted two men in his home;

    When they arrived the homeowner told deputies that two males had entered the residence in an apparent robbery attempt. The elderly man said at least one of the suspects were armed with a handgun and confronted him.

    The man said he was able to retrieve a handgun and shot the armed suspect who died at the scene. The second suspect fled from the scene on foot.

    Pine County Deputies searched the area for the second suspect with help from the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter but were unable to locate him. Law enforcement believes he fled the home on foot and escaped in a vehicle that was parked nearby. The search for that man is ongoing at this time.

    There were apparently four people involved in the attempt to turn their lives around and one is on the morgue table.

    The second story comes from Mississippi where a convenience store owner emptied his gun into a poor guy who was just turning his life around;

    According to investigators, the gunman entered a Get and Go convenience story early Monday morning outside Bassfield in Jefferson Davis County on Highway 42 and demanded money.

    The armed robber shot the store owner in the leg before all the money had been handed over. Authorities say the gunman then walked outside and returned to get the rest of the cash, but by that time the owner had managed to get a gun. When the gunman approached, the owner shot the robber at least 11 times.

    Jefferson David County Coroner Jimmy Slater said he found at least 10 bullet holes created by a 9mm handgun.

    See, you should all buy .45s – it won’t take 10 rounds to put down one of these fine young citizens.

  • Thursday feel good story

    Chief Tango sends us out feel good story for this morning, this time from Oakdale, California it involves a husband and wife team defending their home against, perhaps, the dumbest criminal to ever walk the Earth;

    According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, the husband heard a noise and found the suspect standing inside the residence. The husband and wife confronted the suspect after arming themselves with handguns and calling 911. The suspect was later identified as 27-year-old Albert Anthony Liberini of Modesto.

    The husband told Liberini to get out of the house. Liberini went out through their back door, but returned a short time later, and attempted to break into the house again by breaking out the glass in the back door. The wife fired two shots at Liberini, stopping him from entering the residence.

    Liberini then went to a bedroom window of the residence and broke into the residence a second time. The husband confronted Liberini telling him to leave. Liberini continued to come at the husband inside the home. After he refused to stop, the husband fired one shot and hit the suspect in the torso.

    Liberini was held at gun point until Deputies could arrive and take him into custody. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance and is currently in surgery with non-life-threatening injuries.

    I’m pretty sure we’ll read about Liberini again if he lives through this encounter.
