    This morning’s feel good story comes from Detroit where a family playing video games in their basement when they heard a ruckus upstairs and went to investigate;

    Family members, who were playing video games in the basement, heard a ruckus upstairs, prompting shots to be fired and the suspects to flee. The homeowner shot at the suspects who returned fire, Woody said.

    The two suspects ran away while a third suspect, a getaway driver, was shot inside a vehicle, Woody said.

    “He put it in reverse and went across the median into the home across the street,” he said.

    The driver was found dead by neighbors. Police didn’t have an immediate cause of death.

    Unfortunately, the driver’s last act was to crash into a house which sent that resident to the hospital. But everyone who wasn’t in the area to commit a crime will recover. It’s good to see the good folks of Detroit fight back against criminals, with the full backing of the police for a change.

    Chief Tango sends us another feel good story from Flint, Michigan, where another elder man had to defend himself from a thug;

    Officers say the homeowner, a 72-year-old Flint man, woke to find four suspects in his home. The homeowner retrieved his gun and fired at the suspects, striking and killing one. It appears the suspect was shot outside of the home.

    Police arrested the other three and they will face home invasion charges. No charges have been filed against the homeowner.

    Flint is marginally safer this morning more thanks to this homeowner than fatass gun grabber Michael Moore.

  • Sunday morning feel good story

    Chief Tango sends us our feel good story this morning, this time it’s from Antioch, California where a dramatic shoot out didn’t work out so well from a couple of thieves;

    An Antioch jewelry store owner shot and killed an armed robber Friday afternoon and police said a customer was also shot during the heist, police said.

    The robbery at the Hardy Nix Jewelry store at 3600 Delta Fair Boulevard shut down a major street as authorities swarmed the surrounding area looking for a second suspect who escaped the store after the 4:27 p.m. robbery.

    The female customer who was shot was taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening wound, according to Antioch police Lt. Robin Kelley. The woman “just happened to be in the way” as the robber traded fire with the store owner, according to Antioch police Lt. Don LaDue.

    Responding officers found the armed robber who was shot by the store’s owner on the ground outside the store’s entrance. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

    The other fellow is probably still running all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

    Police line

    Here are a couple of feel good stories to get through the last day of the week. The first is from West Virginia where a homeowner stopped a home invasion with his shotgun;

    Sheriff McComas says the homeowner told deputies that after being shot, the suspect got into a waiting car located a short distance from the house.

    McComas says deputies say they found blood leading away from the house, along with a crow bar.

    The Sheriff says relatives brought Davis to the hospital and that he was incoherent when he arrived. McComas says the relatives told deputies that Davis told them he had broken into a house and was shot.

    The next story comes from Flint, Michigan where another homeowner stopped two men from invading his home;

    Two men are in custody after an attempted home invasion. Police say the men attempted to break in to a home around five Wednesday morning on Freeman Avenue.Police say the home owner shot the two men after they entered his home. The home invasion shooting is the second incident this month in Flint where an attempted home invasion has gone wrong for criminals.

    Police tell NBC 25’s Josh Marshall home owners are using their second amendment rights but could be dangerously close to breaking the law. Knowing what to do before home owners pull the trigger doesn’t come in a pamphlet when a gun is purchased. While it is a legal right, understanding the mechanics of the law can keep an innocent home owner alive, and out of jail.

    The articles goes on to say that there have been 25 home invasions in Flint this year and only two were prevented by armed homeowners. The rest of Flint better get on the 2d Amendment train.
