    Someone dropped off a link on our Facebook page from Houston where two fellows tried to turn their lives around by robbing a local bar;

    Deputies say four armed suspects walked in and told everyone to get on the floor. That’s when one of the patrons pulled out a gun of his own and opened fire, killing two of the suspects.

    Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Sgt. Robert Spurgeon said, “The unknown patron at this time after shooting them he left the scene, so were still trying to determine who he is and why he left the scene.”

    Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories again this morning, the first is from Texas;

    Family members told deputies that their mother was in the kitchen cooking breakfast with three young granddaughters when the armed men broke in. The woman’s adult son heard the commotion from his bedroom and grabbed his gun.

    “… and when he heard ‘please don’t hurt the girls,’ that’s when he took action,” deputies said.

    The son wasted no time in shooting and killing one of the suspects.

    “They were basically at a standoff, and he discharged first,” said Sgt. Felipe Rivera with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “One of the suspects did fire inside the residence.”

    Thankfully, none of the family members were hurt.

    The next story is from Kansas;

    The call was the building owner who said he was inside the address when a subject broke- in. Police say there was some type of confrontation and the intruder was shot.

    The subject was transported to a local hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries

    Today’s feel good story comes from Houston;

    Police say the woman called out for her husband who then came out of the hallway shooting at the suspects. He missed. He fired at least once. “There have been strangers knocking on doors who do not have good intentions,” a neighbor said. “There have been home invasions, there’s been robberies; a lot of car theft and vandalism. There’s been some crime in the neighborhood.” Two of the armed intruders ran. The third suspect exchanged gunfire with the homeowner, firing at least once also. Somehow he managed to approach the armed homeowner and take his gun. That third suspect then fled with the other suspects in a blue car. Police say no one was shot and there were no injuries. blockquote>

    Finally, a story from Knoxville from Chief Tango;

    [Jeffery] Minor said he was in the bedroom when he heard a loud noise at the back door. He grabbed his shotgun and went to the back door where he saw a man kick in the door.

    Fearing for his life, Minor says he fired a shot which struck the door. The suspect ran off, firing at least one shot at the house. He dropped his hat and his handgun.

    During the investigation, officers say a man matching the suspect description showed up at Fort Sanders Hospital with a laceration above his eye and a gunshot wound to his arm.

    Thursday morning feel good story

    Once again, we get our feel good story this morning from Chief Tango. This time it’s from Missouri;

    Authorities said the two students left Northeast High School Wednesday morning and tried to break into a home near Brighton and Thompson. The burglars had broken into the resident’s liquor cabinet, as well as taken some boxes of ammunition.

    The resident at the home reportedly shot one of the teens in the ankle. The two fled the scene and returned to school, where they were taken into custody, police said.

    The second story also comes from Missouri;

    The attempted robbery was about 10:50 a.m. at the Family Pharmacy at 225 Cross Creek Boulevard, off Missouri 76 east of Branson. Employees said a man pointed a handgun at them and demanded pills. An employee armed with his own handgun confronted the robber and fired one shot at him.

    The wannabe robber fled and fired several shots as he ran from the store. He fled westbound in a vehicle, which employees described to a 9-1-1 emergency call-taker.

    Taney County sheriff’s deputies started looking for that vehicle. A deputy drove through the Academy Commons Apartment Complex on East Missouri 76 and met a vehicle matching the description of the robber’s vehicle. He immediately stopped the vehicle and arrested the man who was driving and a female passenger.

    It turned out the man had a gunshot wound to the left side of his torso.

    Today’s feel good story comes from New Jersey, thanks to Chief Tango;

    After finishing his shift at 3 a.m., Delanco Township Police Officer Basil Warren returned to his Stevenson Avenue home in Edgewater Park, Burlington County to find a man trying to steal his personal vehicle, according to investigators.

    As Warren — still in full uniform — approached his truck, the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Tysean Fitzpatrick, threw the vehicle into reverse and tried to back over him, according to Peter Alfinito, Burlington County Fraternal Order of Police president.

    The Delanco officer “fired in self defense,” hitting the Fitzpatrick twice in the back, Alfinito said. When responding officers arrived at the scene, Warren was administering first aid to the injured suspect, according to officials.

    The next story comes from Pennsylvania where an accomplice in a burglary is facing murder charges because his buddy was killed by a victim;

    State police Sgt. Steve Driscoll says Anthony Welsh, of New Castle, is responsible for 20-year-old Mariek Payne’s death because Payne was killed — though not by Welsh — during the commission of a felony.

    Police say Welsh and Payne broke into a Union Township home on Friday, and that Payne was shot by a person who lived there as Payne and Welsh fled.

    Chief Tango sends us a link to our feel good story again. This time it’s from Detroit;

    According witnesses, the 65-year old man shot the suspect after he woke up to use the bathroom and found the stranger strangling his dog. It happened early Monday morning on Whittaker at Lawndale near Woodmere Cemetery

    WWJ Newsradio 950’s Ron Dewey spoke with neighbor Hilal Al-Kateb.

    “That man does not believe in violence whatsoever; 65-year-old guy, he’s got four daughters in there and a wife,” said Al-Kateb. “What do you expect?”

    Al-Kateb said someone had tried breaking into his neighbor’s home twice before.

    “He’s got four little girls in there,” Al-Kateb said. “You never, ever know what the guy wants if he’s trying to break into your house three times in a week. I mean, how are you supposed to live that way?”
