    Friday morning feel good stories

    Our first story comes from Florida this morning where two men entered (an apartment) and one came out;

    Police said two masked men tried to rob an apartment that was occupied.

    One of the masked men, identified as 23-year-old Taylor William Killingsworth, was shot by the resident of the apartment, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Killingsworth was found dead at the scene.

    The other suspect then fled the scene. Authorities said police are still trying to find him.

    The next story is also from Florida, where two guns are better than one;

    According to a police report released Thursday, the homeowner said that when he answered a knock at the door just after noon, a man he didn’t know pushed through the door, pulled out a gun and said, “This is a robbery, give it up.”

    Officers said a woman heard the commotion, came out of the bedroom with a gun and started shooting at the robber, who returned fire. According to the report, the woman went back into the bedroom to get a second gun, then continued to fire at the intruder.

    The alleged intruder, whose name has not been released, was shot more than a dozen times. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with what police described as critical but non-life-threatening injuries. Neither of the homeowners were injured.

    There’s something about chicks with guns, like this one in Connecticut;

    According to Kneeland, police were flagged down and told that two men — one armed with a rifle — tried to rob two people in a hallway.

    A female victim took a handgun from her purse and fired at one of the men, shooting him in his arm, Kneeland said.

    At the same time police were being flagged down, one of the would-be robbers showed up at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound to the arm.

    The lady had a legal permit to carry and the thieves didn’t – they had a BB rifle.

    Blaine sends us a last story from Oklahoma where four fellows tried to turn their lives around in a convenience store;

    Police said the men went into the Ryan’s convenience store near 21st and Mingo Wednesday night, wearing masks and carrying guns.

    They said they fired one shot at the clerk but he fired back twice, killing two of the suspects.

    Two bullets, two dead perps, good ammo conservation – it’s too expensive to be spraying the area. You’ve found the correct amount of range time.

    Thursday morning feel good stories

    Our first story this morning comes from Texas where, apparently, you can’t peacefully eat a decent meal without having to draw your firearm;

    Koy Sam and his wife were closing at the time and two customers were finishing their meals when two men walked in with guns.

    “All of a sudden my wife ran back panicking,” Sam said.

    One of them forced the couple to the ground while the other went for the register.

    He never made it because a customer confronted him with a gun.

    “He was amazing,” Sam said. “He absolutely kept us all calm, made sure everything was okay.”

    As the customer held one suspect for police, he fired as the other suspect ran off. The bullets shattered the front windows of the restaurant.

    The second suspect got away and it’s not clear if he was hit.

    The next story comes from Florida at a Taco Bell;

    The suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Rontavis Holton, told the victim it was a robbery and to drop his pants, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

    “Our victim in this case was himself armed, he took out his gun and shot the suspect, then he went inside the Taco Bell, told them what happened and asked them to call police,” BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said.

    If I’m not mistaken, former Lieutenant Colonel Robert Bateman, in his last little screed at Esquire asked what kind of coward would need to take a gun to a restaurant, well, Bobby, there’s two examples why right there.

    The next story comes from New Jersey;

    A clerk at a supermarket shot and killed one person who was attempting to rob the store Tuesday night, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.

    Two people attempted to rob the Neighborhood Deli Supermarket at 48 Irvine Turner Blvd. shortly before 9 p.m. The second robber fled the scene on foot, according to an initial investigation by the prosecutor’s office.

    The next story comes from Indiana;

    Police say a suspect entered the clothing store armed and wearing a mask. The robber, later identified as Carlos Brookins, 34, from Indianapolis, demanded money from the employee behind the register. They say the employee complied, and Brookins started to leave with cash.

    But then, police say the employee tried to call 911, and Brookins approached the employee again.

    That’s when they say another employee noticed what was going on and shot Brookins in the head.

    Brookins was rushed to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital Detention Center, where he remains in custody and in critical condition.

    Wednesday morning feel good story

    This morning’s feel good story comes from Georgia where a young lady was delivering pizzas;

    “She arrived at the location and a male began approaching the vehicle she thought was there to pick up the pizza,” Capt. Stephen Fore with the DeKalb County Police Department said. “When he got to her he produced a handgun and forced her out of the vehicle and on to the ground.”

    Fore said she had her own handgun in her pocket and was able to reach for it and shoot the suspect.

    Someone found 24-year-old Donquaz Stevenson in a nearby yard suffering from a gunshot wound to his face area after being shot by the delivery driver.

    Detectives tell Channel 2’s Ryan Young a second suspect jumped into the pizza driver’s silver 2000 Honda Accord and is still on the run.

    The article says that the pizza order may have been a ruse from the beginning. How much do they think pizza delivery people carry, anyway? I hope young Donquaz treasures the new face. Thanks to Chief tango for the link.

    Askew said the suspects ran from the house.

    One suspect was shot and found in the yard at the 1244 Clubhouse Road.

    He was taken to Midtown Medical Center and is now out of surgery.

    Another suspect was taken into custody.

    The second story comes from Mississippi;

    Here’s one from David that happened in Texas;

    The male homeowner told Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s deputies that he heard the doorbell ring several times and looked out a window but didn’t see anyone.

    When he heard his three dogs barking like mad, he stepped into the upstairs hallway with a hockey stick to see what was going on and saw a strange man coming up the stairs, investigators said.

    By that point the female homeowner had joined him at the top of the stairs in the Glenn Loch Farms subdivision home.

    “The burglary suspect found himself in the middle of three mad dogs and a homeowner armed with a hockey stick,” Assistant Chief Mark Herman of the constable’s office said in a statement. “The suspect probably made a good decision and surrendered until deputy constables arrived.”

    Once the deputies arrived, Chapman was arrested immediately, authorities said.

  • Monday morning feel good story

    Monday morning feel good story

    This morning’s story is a little different than most, but it comes from South Carolina;

    Investigators say David P. Dempsey, 27, of Williston had entered the motel lobby armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. Before fleeing, Dempsey dropped an item and his weapon discharged, striking him in the leg, Abdullah said.

    Dempsey then got into a red Ford Focus with three other suspects and fled the scene, Abdullah said. He was later taken to an area hospital for treatment.

    Mr Dempsey and his felonious friends waved down police officers who were responding to the report about their robbery and asked for help to treat the gunshot. All four are locked up tonight and South Carolina is marginally safer. We need more self-shooting criminals.

    Sunday morning feel good stories

    The first feel good story today comes from Wisconsin where a man with a concealed weapon permit turned the tables on a barber shopr robber;

    “He asked some questions about how much a haircut costs, then went into the bathroom to put his mask on and get his gun ready or whatever,” Ty said.

    Milwaukee police said the robber started patting down customers when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the man.

    The co-owner said his customer protected himself and other patrons.

    “One of the customers acted in self-defense. He had his (concealed-carry permit), a registered firearm, and unfortunately killed the robber,” Ty said.

    The dead man was not immediately identified. Ty said he had never seen the robber before and wondered why his business was targeted.

    The next story comes from Texas where an ex-girlfriend fought off the advances of an old boy friend;

    A 33 year old man forced his way into that home through a back door and began attacking a 41 year old man who was inside. While they were fighting, the 26 year old ex-girlfriend ran to a bedroom where she and the intruder began struggling over a gun.

    The gun went off hitting the ex-boyfriend in the chest. He died at a local hospital.

    Finally, the last short story comes from Colorado;

    According to early reports from investigators, a person who was in the home at the time, heard the intruder, pulled out a gun, and shot him.

    The injured suspect was sent to the hospital.

    Right now there is no word on the suspect’s condition, and no names have been released yet.
