  • Military Rape Awareness Week

    The Veterans for Peace have declared this “Military Rape Awareness Week” and announce that they’re so enlightened, that they actually oppose rape in the military.

    Actually, I oppose rape, too. But can anyone doubt that Veterans For Peace oppose rape because they can use it to smear the troops? In, fact, if you heard that this crowd of anti-troops organizations were protesting at a military recruiting station in Times Square, would you really think they were protesting rape?

    In New York City on Tuesday, October 13th members of VFP, Iraq Veterans against the War, Granny Peace Brigade, Codepink: Women for Peace, World Can’t Wait, Artists Response Team, We will not be Silent, and V-Day will gather at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square to warn potential women recruits about the alarming rates of sexual assault and rape of women in the military.

    Of course, they really had to dig to find a “scientific” study (link is to a .pdf file) that would back their charge that 1-in-3 women in the military are raped. If you look at the sampling for the “study”, the “researchers” sent out questionnaires to more than 2100 women and less than a third replied. I guess it never entered their pointy heads that women who had suffered rape while in the military would be more likely to reply, huh?

    I don’t doubt that rape is a problem in the military – even if there was only one rape in twenty years, it’s a problem. But 1-in-3 women? Of course, the study further prostitutes itself by pointing out that 75% of the victims never report those rapes. Oh, and did I mention that the report was done in 1996 and the women were in the military in the previous twenty years?

    But no corrupted study will prevent the forces of peace and enlightenment from standing their unwashed asses in front of a recruiting station and accusing recruiters of facilitating rape.

    The other day, we saw a video of Matthis Chiroux who charged the military with “dehumanizing” foreigners. The anti-war crowd “dehumanizes” the entire military by making specious charges like this. This is the 21st Century version of spitting on the troops.

    I remember the anti-war protests ended during the Vietnam War when once, in New York City, construction workers got tired of the hippies protesting one day. The construction workers climbed down off of their steel perches and proceeded to pound the protesters.

    I’m just sayin’….

  • The vacuous intellect of the anti-war Left

    In this morning’s Washington Post, Dana Milbank writes about yesterday’s protest at the White House;

    If the commander in beef had been watching from a window, he would have had reason for concern. Not the demonstrators themselves: They were Green Party types with some self-proclaimed socialists thrown in, and they had never been enthusiastic Obama supporters to start with. What the president should worry about is whether these activists are indicators of bigger things to come if he sides with his generals and decides to bulk up the U.S. force in Afghanistan.

    In Congress a bill was introduced to cut off funding for the President to add more troops (sent to us on super-secret email list);

    SECTION 1. PROHIBITION ON INCREASE IN NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES SERVING IN AFGHANISTAN.

    No funds appropriated or otherwise made available under any provision of law may be obligated or expended to increase the number of members of the United States Armed Forces serving in Afghanistan so that the number of members serving in Afghanistan exceeds the number so serving on the date of the enactment of this Act.

    The sponsors of the bill reads like a “usual suspects” list;

    Ms. LEE of California (for herself, Ms. WOOLSEY, Mr. MCGOVERN, Ms. WATERS, Mr. CONYERS, Mr. ELLISON, Mr. LEWIS of Georgia, Ms. WATSON, Mr. TOWNS, Mr. CLEAVER, Ms. JACKSON-LEE of Texas, Mr. COHEN, Mr. HONDA, Mr. GRIJALVA, Mr. MCDERMOTT, Mr. STARK, Mr. HINCHEY, Mr. KUCINICH, Ms. EDWARDS of Maryland, Ms. CLARKE, Mr. FILNER, and Mr. GRAYSON) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

    Of course, like TSO emailed, it probably won’t even be discussed by the Armed Forces Committee – yet there it is. It’s all political posturing that strokes the far left egos. And they’re all playing with the lives of our troops.

    Anyone who doesn’t think that the Taliban and al Qaeda aren’t encouraged by this, is fooling themselves. Anyone who doesn’t think that the antics of the far left over the last eight years is the reason that we’re still fighting these stone age cretins on barren mountain slopes halfway around the world doesn’t grasp the idea of low intensity warfare.

    Every death, every lost limb, every case of PTSD can be laid at the feet of the anti-war, pro-terrorist left.

  • Code Pink/VFP/WCW at the White House (Updated w/video)

    Not feeling the hope and change, a coalition of anti war groups marched on the White House. I’ve got some pictures and videos to put up for now – but I’ll be adding more tonight.

    There was no IVAW presence today, so the Geezers For Sitting On Our Hands was at the front of the march. For some reason, anti-war protesters think they need veterans in the front to give them legitimacy.

    That’s retired Colonel Ann Wright carrying a mock-up coffin with Jim Goodnow behind her. Goodnow drove the Impeach Bush bus which caught fire in a New Jersey rest stop and Goodnow claimed he was firebombed by right-wing extremists;

    Listen to the speaker in the first portion of this video as she equates the war in Afghanistan to Southeast DC. The moonbattery runs deeply in this one;

    Cindy Sheehan was there – but I didn’t need to say that because you know there were cameras.

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 063

    A couple of Guantanamo prisoners chained themselves to the fence – I volunteered to help the cops beat them, but they only chuckled and told me they could handle it.

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 072

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 069

    They waterboarded one old hippie and when I shouted for them to behead him instead of bathing him, they called me a “Nazi”.

    I guess you could take this sign a hundred ways, but anyway you parse it, it’s a slap against the troops;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (77)

    It’s not a protest against Bush anymore.

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (75)

    They needed more cowbell;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (66)

    Cindy and Medea have made up apparently;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (59)

    The National Lawyers Guild tried to intimidate the Free Republic folks;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (28)

    Probably because they were getting more interviews than the hippies;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (23)

    If you need more pictures, I have about a hundred at My Flickr Photostream. I kept the photos of the comely news ladies over there.

    I talked with Dana Milbank from the Washington Post and gave him my (unsolicited) impression. He told me that he’s writing this like it’s the “canary in the mine”. I told him that it’s more like a desperate play for donations. All of the “big guns” were there; Cindy Sheehan, Media Benjamin, Jody Evans, Michael MacPhearson (VFP’s ED) and some minor guns like John Grant (VFP in Philly and Hugo Chavez fan). They were there because they’re hurting for money what with the Democrats at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue and MoveOn sucking up the Left’s money.

    By the way, no MoveOn today, either.

    I’m really surprised that IVAW wasn’t there. I wonder if it’s a policy shift or a lack of participation. Since they recently officially condemned the Afghanistan War, it seemed the perfect venue.

    UPDATED AGAIN: Apparently, some of the protesters got arrested after I left for not keeping the sidewalk clear. I saw a couple of them giving crap to the Park Police and told them to quit being dicks and let the cops do their job. Of course, i got called a “Nazi” for that, too. So these bozos deserved to be arrested.

  • Think the media will report this? (Video added)

    Here’s one of the first signs I encountered this morning

    larouche-008

    Here’s the video;

    Bill Perry and I aren’t friends any more. He introduced to his crowd of Vets For Peace as “That lying SOB from This Ain’t Hell”. Ward Reilly was polite, though, so was Michael MacPhearson. Jim Goodnow told me to keep up the good work. I guess he’s not a reader.

    Free Republic is here;

    larouche-010

    They stalwartly followed the protest and got plenty of interviews through out the day’s fun.

  • Peace movement plans protest against Obama

    A gaggle of peace movement organizations wrote an open letter to the President urging that he adopt their platform for peace. However, they forget the time line of some important events;

    We feel you are stuck in the same trap, which ensnared President Lyndon Johnson. His decision to continue that awful war in Vietnam brought down his presidency. He failed to listen to the peace movement, and history has not been kind to him.

    Um, Lyndon Johnson didn’t “continue” the war in Vietnam, he escalated the operations in Vietnam to an actual combat role. US combat forces were introduced to Vietnam at Da Nang March 8, 1965 – at the beginning of the Johnson Administration.

    The letter continues;

    Today’s peace movement is baffled by your persistence to wage war on the people of Afghanistan. Not only is your policy flawed, but it is doomed to failure. Afghanistan surely does not need more killing and destruction. It needs financial assistance and the willingness of the United States to build roads, schools and clinics. The people, especially the women and children, need food, medicine, shelter and an end to the fighting. Moreover, the U.S. military is unsuited to do humanitarian work in Afghanistan.

    What have the US forces been doing in Afghanistan? Oh, that’s right, they’ve been “air raiding villages”, I forgot. And were they “unsuited to do humanitarian work in” Bosnia and Kosovo, too?

    We protested the belligerency of the Bush administration, and now we are demonstrating against your misguided efforts in Afghanistan. We are mystified that in the midst of a horrible economic crisis, you are wasting precious tax dollars and other resources in a futile war without end. To call this a war of necessity is an attempt to rewrite history.

    I’ll bet you clowns are mystified about a lot of things, mostly simple tasks like tying your shoes and changing your underwear. To not refer to this war as a war of necessity is to ignore history.

    But on the upside, this coalition of misinformed idiots are planning to protest against the Obama White House on Monday, October 5th.

    I wonder if Jimmy Carter will call them racists.

  • Army Experience Center protest

    Even though I was at the protest on Saturday, one of our operatives was at the Franklin Mills Mall near Philadelphia keeping an eye on the moonbats for us. According to their announcement, 32 groups were supposed to decend on the Army Experience Center, a recruiting station in the mall. You can tell that apparently every other person had his own organization – there were 100-150 people there by my estimation from the pictures and videos I’ve found. Here’s the one video on YouTube about it so far, you can do your own counting if you want;

    Our operative, MayDayOG, sends these pictures and files in his report that, even though initially the hippies had planned to infiltrate the mall in small groups and appear suddenly at the AEC, instead they assembled near the mall and were escorted by mall security to the AEC.

    Hmmm, someone must’ve tipped the mall to their plot. I wonder who.

  • Barbecue and Patriotism at Walter Reed

    Tea Party WRAMC 020

    Just got back from a day at Walter Reed and thought I’d share some of it with you.

    First, we ate courtesy of the organizational skills of Concretebob and his crew;

    DC Tea Party WRAMC 002

    Tea Party WRAMC 001

    Tea Party WRAMC 007

    Tea Party WRAMC 005

    Then it was off to the front gate where the action was, courtesy of the DC Chapter of Free Republic who has standing at Walter Reed to welcome the wounded soldiers home for 230 consecutive weekends, rain, shine, heat and cold. They were gratified with the huge turn out tonight;

    Tea Party WRAMC 045

    Tea Party WRAMC 041

    Tea Party WRAMC 038

    Tea Party WRAMC 027

    Of course the other side was there, too, in pitiful numbers;

    Tea Party WRAMC 029

    There were a pair of matching trucks with a huge sign in the bed that we all signed;

    Tea Party WRAMC 010

    Tea Party WRAMC 009

    Did I mention that at This Ain’t Hell we love dogs?

    Tea Party WRAMC 036

    If the turn out tonight is any indication of what tomorrow is going to be like, the news media is going to be real sorry that they didn’t cover it. This was the largest crowd I’ve ever seen at Walter Reed on Friday night – and I left when I was losing light and folks were still arriving.

    Video Added;

    There are more pictures, as always, at my Flickr Photostream.

    1stCavRVN11B sends a link to the live streaming photos from Walter Reed.

  • At Walter Reed tomorrow night

    Our buddy DanNY from GOE/NY sent along this humorous bit from some clowns who think they have the organizational skills of GOE;

    teabagger-watch

    The folks at Free Republic have been manning the four corners outside of Walter Reed since March, 2005 – here’s the post I did of their three year anniversary last year. It’s not like everyone just decided to finally show up this Friday night. They’ve never been involved in “severe intimidation” of the assembled moonbats halfway down the block from the Main Gate.

    Well, there was the one time that Concretebob got the permit for occupation of all four corners when he found out that the Code Pink permit didn’t exist. That’s why they’re halfway down the block. So anyway, if you’re in town Friday night, stop by WRAMC and join us.

    I hear Tankerbabe will be there.

    Don’t forget the barbecue at the Mologne House. More from FReeper buddy, trooprally;

    GoE has a duplicate permit for the moonbats area.

    The DC Chapter has also extended our permits to cover all of the street in front of Walter Reed, except the small area where the moonbats are.

    We start at 6PM. A moment of silence will be held at 8:46PM, 8 yrs and 12 hours after the 1st trade tower was struck.

    RE signs, we will have a lot from GoE I and some made up, but if the numbers are going to be as many as expected, feel free to bring your own.

    Moonbats may try to infiltrate our group with obambi-hilter and hanging obambi posters. If you see any, please immediately remove them.
