  • Trending Right

    Our buddy, John Hawkins of Right Wing News sent us a link this morning to introduce us to his new website “Trending Right“. I’ll let him explain;

    Trending Right shows the most linked conservative stories on Twitter for EACH HOUR. So, if you want to know what’s hot on the Right, RIGHT NOW, then you read Trending Right.

    You’ll notice that I’ve added it to our sidebar links. For those of you who want to keep up on what the conservative blogs are discussing today, that seems like an important place for you to visit. i know I’ll be there often…clicking over from TAH’s links so they know we’re out here.

    Hawkins and two of his co-bloggers, doubleplusundead and William Teach have been very generous linking to TAH helping us be the presence in the blogosphere that we’ve become.

  • Cooking with the Troops; Charity of the Month?

    Laughing Wolf from Blackfive sent us this link while I was goofing off in California this last weekend. I apologize for neglecting it until this morning;

    Cooking with the Troops is up for charity of the month at Think Geek. Please go vote for us, and ask/beg/whine/cajole/whatever everyone you know or meet to please do the same. This would be a huge help for us as we try to do even more this year than we did in our first (three-quarters) year. Please vote, and please help spread the word. Thank you!

    You know what to do.

  • St Patrick’s Day at the White House

    White House Fountain Dyed Green for St. Patrick’s Day: MyFoxDC.com

    Yup, it’s St Patrick’s Day. I’ve been waiting for TSO’s annual drunk-blog posting, but it looks like his wife has kept him sober.

    But chin up, it seems that the president is claiming some Irish blood, so’s he can be like you, according to the Associated Press not all of his relatives are happy about that;

    The survey allowed genealogists to further trace branches in Obama’s family tree and others who arrived on the ship, known as the Marmion, on March 20, 1850.

    According to the survey, the passengers’ descendants live in Canada, Syria and throughout the United States. Among Obama’s newly identified relatives is 83-year-old Dorma Lee Reese, of Tucson, Ariz.

    “I’m not a Democrat, so I can’t say I clapped,” said Reese, a retired brain-imaging technologist. “I don’t appreciate what he’s done by any means, but I do appreciate that he holds that office.”

    So there ya go.

    I’m Swedish, ya know, so Guinness tastes like sheep gravy (unless TSO or B5 are buying). Odin!

  • Burn Pit: Of Ivy League Schools, the class of an NCO, and the true meaning of “life and death”…

    Some guy named “Mothax” dropped off a link to his post at the Burn Pit of hippies, ivy schools, and the folks who outclass them all.

  • Laughing Wolf is having a yard sale

    Laughing Wolf emailed me today and asked if I’d let you guys know that he’s selling off some of his stuff that some of you might have an interest in. I don’t know much about it, so I’ll let him explain;

    Knowing that some of your readers are science fiction fans, I wanted to let them know that I am parting with my Gordon Dickson and Tim Zahn collections (majority of books are autographed), autographed books by Hogan, Yarbro, de Camp, Card, Bond, and more. Even giving up some of my collectible (non-autographed) Heinlein. If any are interested in these or items already up on e-bay and such, they can drop me a line at my wolf1 (at) laughingwolf (dot) net take this out net and will be glad to wheel and deal with them.

    So drop him a line if you’re interested.

  • 2011 Milblog Conference

    It’s here, again, and I’m pretty excited. It’s the only time I’m excited about a social event all year, so I’m registered and reserved my hotel room. I know quite few of you go, and I get poisonous emails when I know stuff about the conference and don’t tell anyone so you can register, too at this link; https://www.regonline.com/builder/site/Default.aspx?EventID=943939. I think the conference and the hotel filled up pretty fast last year, so if you want to go, now is the time to make your reservation.
