  • RWN: 2010’s Most notorious campaign ads

    Our buddy, John Hawkins at Right Wing News, has assembled the “The 20 Most Notorious Campaign Ads Of The 2010 Cycle“. So go there now and relive the glory days that were the 2010 election.

  • Hawkins interviews Thomas Sowell

    John Hawkins of Right Wing Network, a great friend of this blog interviews Thomas Sowell, today, on Dismantling America;

    Paul Krugman is one of the best known and highest regarded economists on the Left. He says the problem we have right now is the government simply is not spending enough money and the fears we have about the debt causing all these major problems are extremely overblown. What do you say to that argument that is very prevalent on the Left?

    Well, it’s a heads I win, tails you lose argument because if we spend twice as much for the next ten years and things don’t get any better – you can still say, “We didn’t spend enough.” We should have spent four times as much. And if we spend four times as much, you can say we should spend 10 times as much. It’s an impossible argument to refute.

    It’s a great interview, so you should read the whole thing.

  • One more from Claymore

    Claymore sent this link last night from the Head Ritard of Democrat Underground warning the “enemies” to control ourselves when we visit DU today;

    If you want the Democrats to lose, GO AWAY.
    I fully expect that there may be lots of finger-pointing and “I told you so” posts, and as much as I don’t like it I understand it is going to happen. That’s fine. But if anyone seems a little too gleeful that the Democrats lost and the Republicans won, we’re not going to cut you a great deal of slack. If you want to celebrate a Republican victory, take it to Free Republic.

    Ya know, it’s their place and they can do what they want to do, but I think they’re pretty deaf from listening to the sound of one hand clapping. That’s why they always accuse the Right of “stealing elections” – they don’t want to hear the other side’s argument, so they think that everyone thinks like they think. When you’ve insulated yourself from hearing the other side, your defeat is always a surprise.

    That’s why TAH is open to everyone, except the deranged and pervs.

    I went to DU soon after it opened nearly eleven years ago. I posted “Do you guys really believe this tripe?” and I was banned within minutes. I probably wasn’t the first, nor was I the last, but that explains why they’re so tone deaf to the rest of the country.

    I’ll be back in an hour or so. I’m going to the county seat so I can apply for my CCW license. Not that it’s related to the discussion or anything.

  • Wolf for Congress

    In case you missed it at Blackfive this weekend, we’re drafting the Mr. Wolf for Congress. Apparently, I’m the face of the “angry, white electorate” he’ll be representing. You can see Ponsdorf behind me in throng of supporters.

    I swear, Sniper brewed the best Belgian White I’ve ever tasted, evidenced by my need to have a designated driver that night. I’ve had real Belgian White right from Belgium and Sniper’s was better.

    Of course, I was pretty upset when Sniper gave a few quarts of stout to Jimbo and then went to bed without giving me some of the Belgian to take home (yes, Sniper passed out some out somewhere while he still had guests). So I’m thinking that I’m not going to let him paint my deck for free now. That’ll teach him.

  • Gordon Duff, Ahmadinejad, Mary Magdalene and the Holocaust

    TSO sent me this link to Gordon Duff’s latest maniacal ravings entitled “Rule of Lie“. get it? It kinda sounds like Rule of Law…but it’s not…it’s “Lie”. See what he’s doing there? Well, i just thought I should point that out, because the Duffster wants us see how brilliant he is. Duff gets right to the point;

    President Ahmadinejad of Iran has asked for a UN investigation of 9/11. For this, he has been branded a “wingnut” and “evildoer” by the American press.

    Really? I read a lot of American Press and I didn’t see anyone in the media, or in politics, or stand-alone talking heads call him a wingnut (isn’t that a Republican, btw?) or an evil doer. In fact I haven’t seen anyone called an evil doer in the last half-decade. Must’ve been those enchanting voices Duff has in his head from all of those overtime hours working the drive-through at MacDonald’s before he landed that sweet job at Veterans Today.

    Let’s take a second to look at Ahmadinejad. Nearly daily stories hit newspapers around the world, “Iran is 15 minutes from being a nuclear power.” Ahmadinejad threatens to “wipe Israel off the map.” “Ahmadinejad supports a new holocaust.”

    The press, of course, continually reviles Ahmadinejad as a terrorist and mass murderer. What he isn’t, however, is a liar.

    Well, there’s a feather in his cap. He has the entire population of Iran under his heel in the dust. Every time he farts, the Gulf States tremble. he hangs gays from a construction crane in the village square. he stones women to death. But he doesn’t lie.

    Well, tells us Ahmadinejad is not a liar, so he can blame the jews – those evil Jews that have schemed against civilization since they marched out of Egypt. Then he goes on to recount the history of World War I and the rise of Hitler. Ho-hum, not again. And if you don’t believe his version, he has the rpoof for you…”cuz I said”.

    This is all true. This is history. This will never be reported. Not only will this be kept secret but the fact that the Zionist groups that wanted Palestine settled by Jews supported Hitler and worked closely with him, not just in 1927 but as late as 1945. This is also historical fact, not conjecture.

    If it’s all such a big secret that “will never be reported”, how the hell does Duff know? That mouse in his pocket tell him?

    Serious students of history that don’t have to live off a university paycheck, telling the same myths and lies term after term all know what Ahmadinejad knows.

    Oh, “serious students of history”. in other words, crackpots like Duff. Ya know how you find a “serious scholar”? Ask him about Mary Magdalene – if the historian can recite “The Da Vinci Code” line-by-line, well, then you’ve got a Duff-approved scholar. If you thought mary was whore…i’s because that’s what the Jews want you to believe. See how easy this gets? Everything you know it wrong because of the Jews.

    What does all of this bullshit mean to us? Well, there was no Holocaust so we should stop feeling sorry for the Jews and look the other way while Ahmadinejad (and possibly Mary Magdalene) blow up Israel. Somehow hitler, Stalin and “the jews” (all hundred million of them apparently) cooked the whole think because they were all Zionists. I guess Stalin’s pogroms were all a figment of our Jew-poisoned, addled pates as well.

    Of course, what’s REALLY scary about Gordon Duff, is that he has a following. I’m always getting emails from former fans of his who’ve recovered and left the reservation and then email me (why me of all people) to warn me that Gordon Duff is coming to eat my puppies. if you have an opportunity somea, read the comments…they’re almost as hilarious as Duff’s reporting of secret history that only occurs in his somewhat underused brain.

    So what do I know? The Jews probably poisoned me, too.

  • An interview with Pundit Press

    The folks at Pundit Press were obviously confused and thought we were a “successful conservative” blog. Since I’m always looking for a way to attract other readers who might click my ads, not like you guys, I didn’t disavow them of the notion and agreed to do an interview with Aurelius. You can read it at this link if you’re at all interested. Otherwise, you can go back to clicking other people’s ad links that aren’t mine.

    Added: If you read the interview, you can read the part where I predicted this would happen, while it was happening.

  • Diliberto on “Crazed Christians”

    Jake Diliberto from “Rethinking Afghanistan” and a frequent visitor here, sent us a link to his latest piece on Huffington Post entitled “Crazed Christians: Two Lifesized Looney Tunes” about Terry Jones and Fred Phelps and their handful of acolytes and somehow Diliberto blames all of Christendom for these few idiots.

    Christian leaders should take these real-life cartoon characters as a wake-up call. No one will dislike the church who feeds the poor and provides health care for others (except, of course, Glenn Beck).

    Now, I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that there isn’t some Grand Council of Christians who can condemn to death folks who commit themselves to an odd and distasteful branch of Christianity. And I don’t know what kind of “wake up call” is required. Blaming the entirety of the Christian religion for the acts of a few is fairly narrow-minded and smacks of bigotry. To hint that “Christian leaders” are somehow responsible by their inaction is just plain ignorant.

    Diliberto begins his article by comparing these two knuckleheads to some of the worst events in history;

    Between the Crusades, the Great Schism, the Thirty Years’ War, the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, and the Christian genocide of Native Americans, Christianity has plenty of black eyes to go around.

    OK, all of you Christians who took part in any of those events, please raise your hands. Really? No one? OK, let me see the hands of those of you who condone those incidents. None of you? Then WTH point is Diliberto trying to make?

    I read the other articles Diliberto wrote on Huffington Post and I don’t see one that condemns any other religion for real atrocities like throwing acid on schoolgirls, blowing up shopping centers, blowing up train loads of commuters, stabbing ideological opponents on a public street in Europe, raiding tourist hotels with guns, bombs and grenades, shooting up unarmed soldiers in Texas, attempted bombings in Chicago and New York, shooting two privates in Arkansas on a smoke break…need I go on? And those are things that happened in the last few years and happen every day – not something that happened centuries ago.

    If Diliberto can blame Christians for the misguided antics of two sects, why doesn’t he blame Islam for the deadly and terroristic (my own word, don’t look it up) behavior of several thousand Muslims?
