  • Yay! Another Obama tax cut!

    Earlier this morning, Old Trooper sent us a link about the Department of Agricuture’s impending Christmas Tree Tax which was $.15 levied on each purchase. The tax would be used to promote the Christmas tree industry – like there’s some Americans who don’t know about Christmas trees yet and that tax would allow the industry to finally reach those ignorant potential consumers.

    Well, now I see from Fox News that that the Obama Administration has swooped in at the last minute and rescued we the informed Christmas tree consumers from the oppressive tax just in time for the season.

    “I can tell you unequivocally that the Obama administration is not taxing Christmas trees. What’s being talked about here is an industry group deciding to impose fees on itself to fund a promotional campaign, similar to how the dairy producers have created the ‘Got Milk?’ campaign,” he said. “That said, USDA is going to delay implementation and revisit this action.”

    So like jobs “saved or created” this will be counted in the President’s “tax cut” math come election season next year I suppose.

  • VetVoice: Yay, Obama. Boo, Congress.

    I know, it’s like the first tiem ever that dicksmith cheers for the President and attacks the new Republican Congress, huh? But here he goes;

    Congress has been dithering all year on creating jobs while every week more Veterans are struggling to support their families. Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief is showing real leadership to take care of those who have served. Hopefully, the Republican leadership will take a cue from the President and help return Veterans to gainful employment.

    Of course, those unemployed veterans only lost their jobs since January when this session of Congress began. We had full veteran employment while there was a Democrat Congress and a Democrat Administration before the evil Tea Party overthrew the perfectly-managed government last November, huh?

    Of course, veterans are going to need to be employed in order to pay for their healthcare after the Obama Administration gets done not balancing the budget on the backs of veterans. I’ve yet to see VoteVets mention how the rising costs of veteran healthcare will hurt vdterans and their families.

  • Congress told that White House plans will decimate Corps

    The Washington Times reports that the assistant commadant of the Marine Corps told Congress yesterday that plans to cut the force to 150,000 Marines will seriously impact their ability to accomplish an assigned mission;

    “A hundred and fifty thousand would put us below the level that’s necessary to support a single contingency,” said Gen. Joseph Dunford, who as assistant commandant is the nation’s No. 2 Marine.

    Furthermore, the Marines, known as America’s 911 response force, would be limited in carrying out an array of special missions.

    “We will not be there to deter our potential adversaries,” he told the House Armed Services subcommittee on readiness. “We won’t be there to assure our potential friends or to assure our allies. And we certainly won’t be there to contain small crises before they become major conflagrations.”

    I don’t know why the General thinks that the USMC’s ability to fight the next war is important at all to either Congress or the White House, or even the Defense Department. They’re looking for ways to cutspending in a way that doesn’t directly affect the idiot voters who don’t see the need for a strong military.

    I commend the general for telling it like it is, speaking truth to power, but he might as well go piss up a rope.

  • Without Obama “you’re on your own”

    At a fundraiser for millionaires in San francisco yesterday, President Obama warned potential donors that if he doesn’t win the election next year, the government will tell the people “you’re on your own” according to an ABC News link;

    “If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own,” he said. “That’s not the America I believe in. It’s not the America you believe in.”

    Obama and Democrats have been emphasizing what they see as the costly consequences of the Republicans’ agenda in an effort to stir up support, in part by touching on emotional nerves.

    If you get a flat tire, you’ll have to call AAA yourself. If your refrigerator stops running, you’ll have to find a repairman in the yellow pages. If the ATM machine eats your debit card, you’ll have to ask for a replacement on your own. If you step in mud, you’ll have to clean your shoes without any help from government. That’s not the America I believe in.

  • Former Soviet citizen confronts occupiers

    Country Singer sends us a video taken by a former Soviet citizen who makes a couple of occupiers on Wall Street uncomfortable. you’ll be happy to know that North Koreans are better off than South Koreans and that Che Guevara wasn’t a mass murderer at all;

    When this Russian guy tells them that he lived in the USSR for 29 years, they tell him that he doesn’t know anything about socialism, and that he doesn’t know what capitalism is.

    I guess if you can be that intellectually dishonest with yourself, ignore your lying eyes, you can believe anything. But I’m not surprised in the least, because I used to confront these useful idiots in DC, mostly those koolaid-drinking arrogant pathetic morons from the Bethesda chapter of MoveOn. They’re just so willfully ignorant that you want to choke the living shit oot of them.

    With ignorant fucks like these, is it any wonder we have Obama for president? By the way, dipshits, did you know that the first thing that Lenin did after he took over Russia was execute the Socialists?

  • Adios, Moammar

    So, I don’t have to worryy about how we’re spelling his name this week any longer. Yeah, I found out from CNN since that’s what everyone tunes their TVs to at the new Walter Reed in Bethesda. My reaction was what you’d expect…reserved smile. Of course, the world will have to deal with his successor, whatever stripe he might be wearing. Qaddafi’s violent death was inevitable. I’m not so naive to think this will change much of anything in the region, but I’m glad he’s gone.

    Claymore sent us a link to Townhall in which they post the video of Gaddafi’s final moments…I haven’t watched the whole thing because I’ve watched too many people die in various circumstances to find it very instructive or entertaining. I don’t take much joy from any loss of life, whether it’s deserved or not, and death by mob has got to be terrifying for any human.

    ANyway, the comments in Townhall are indeed instructive. Watching each side try to twist the “meaning” to their own politics is fairly disgusting, an exercise in rhetorical pretzel-making. The Left uses it to bash Bush some more, and the right to bash obama.

    The removal of Gaddafi from amongst the living has nothing to do with American politics, it just is what it is, and another reason to be more wary of the world we’ve made. Throwing fingers doesn’t make us safer

  • Hippies freaking out

    ROS sent us this video of a couple of drama queens at Occupy Wall Street. Language warning.

    Not only is their outrage phony, so is their rhetoric.

    Meanwhile, Democracy Now! reports that the president these scumbags elected has collected more money from Wall Street than any other candidate;

    New figures show President Obama continues to pull in huge donations from the financial sector, with more money from Wall Street this year than all other Republican presidential candidates combined. According to the Washington Post, Obama has raised a total of $15.6 million from banks and other financial firms, with nearly $12 million of that going to the Democratic National Committee.

    So, how’s that hope and Change working out for you idealistic retards?

  • Jesus Garcia avoids jail time for phony Ranger act

    We first wrote about Jesus Garcia back in June. Well, it seems that the little twerp is going to avoid jail time for scamming people out of thouseands of dollars in his little dress-up game;

    The Greenwich man who posed as a wounded U.S. Army veteran will not serve jail time, but will be confined to his home on Veterans Day and Memorial Day as part of his punishment, his lawyer said Friday.

    Granted accelerated rehabilitation in state Superior Court on Friday, Jesus M. Garcia, 21, has been ordered to turn over all military uniforms and memorabilia, complete 150 hours of community service and attend counseling, according to his attorney, Mark Sherman.

    Staying locked up in his house on two days a year are probably for his own protection…and big damn deal he has to turn over his uniforms. WTF kind of punishment is this?

    Sherman described his client as being “grateful to the court for this second chance.”

    You bet your ass he’s grateful that he lives in a milktoast community that tolerates fraud and phonies.

    Thanks to Jim for the link.
