  • Obama’s ME Position(s)?

Doesn’t much matter which politician is speaking, in general. If  I’m likely to be interested I ignore the talking heads and try to find a transcript. THEN I will look at what the pundits think about it if writing  a  post seems in order. After all, I’m old and lazy. I’ve  reinvented the wheel several time already.

So for an overview I offer Ed Morriessy at Hot Air.

The Arab street is disappointed some.

The Israelis are disappointed as well.

    Word for the day: Feckless.

This post is almost pointless here, among our erudite readers save for one thing.  Sometimes rote learning actually works.

  • One Small Step for Man – One Giant Leap for BEER!

I’m ready to participate in the testing; where do I sign up?

Wherever man has ventured, beer has followed. Now, two Australian entrepreneurs hope that will include space. The pair have developed a full-bodied brew they believe can stand up to the trials of being drunk in zero gravity.

Problems faced by astronauts include swelling of the tongue with a loss of taste sensation, but it is hoped that space engineers have developed the perfect beer to counter this.

What could go wrong? Passengers drink on airplanes.

Once the prototype was developed it was tested on a zero gravity flight over Florida by a microgravity expert from the non-profit organisation Astronauts4Hire as a test subject.

Throughout the test flight the expert drank almost a litre of the beer despite the challenges of keeping the bottle to his mouth and getting the beer to pour out.

And they do have toilets in space…
If you were wondering about The Beer Belch in microgravity fear not:

There is also the problem of carbonation and burping. On Earth, due to gravity acting on the stomach, the gas and liquid in the beer separate. However, in space, they come up together in what is called a wet burp. That, explained Mr Held, can be very uncomfortable.

    Ain’t science wonderful?

  • No Title, No Words… Just Outrage (Updated)

Since I got Larry Bailey’s email I’ve been struggling to rationalize this evil? Sometimes it is hard.

Concrete Bob did it for me.

Last Wednesday, in Texarkana TX, some lowlife scumsucking asswipe murdered a good friend of mine and both of her children. Then the lowlife scumsucking asswipe set fire to her house to cover up the act.

Amanda Prewett Doss was the most incredible person I’ve ever worked with. I met her in 2006 at the Veterans for the Truth/BootMurtha Rally in Johnstown PA. We immediately became friends. She was a tireless advocate for veterans, POW/MIA issues and she absolutely hated Murtha and Kerry, which immediately earned her a place in my heart. She was beautiful physically and mentally. She believed in what she did.

She was a Soldiers Angel before the concept was ever thought of. Her support for Viet Nam veterans and the issues those veterans dealt with is legndary in our circles.

I had the privilege of spending time with her, but, sadly, I didn’t stay in regular contact.

    An Angel indeed, thanks Bob.

Update:  SKK is on this. As is Blackfive in the person of Laughing_Wolf.

  • Bellavia = Benedict Arnold?

Also via FB (and my sense of humor): NY26: Is War Hero Bellavia Channeling Benedict Arnold?

Former candidate and NY-26 hopeful David Bellavia has thrown his support behind Tea Party phony, candidate Jack Davis.

Bellavia’s endorsement of Davis is obviously a slap in the face to the GOP organization in the district after he failed to win the party line (which Assemblywoman Jane Corwin carries, along with the coveted Conservative Party line) and failed to make it on the ballot.

Jonn made an effort up in NY for Bellavia and this article is worth reading.  The juxtaposition is simply entertaining.  To be clear – I’d vote for Bells.

  • No Further Contact

Via FB and Lt. Col. Hal Moore:

CSM Plumley and LTG Moore debating who shot Maggie the Mule on the Perimeter at An Khe. Circumstantial evidence points to Gilreath’s platoon. Gilreath is adamant that Maggie did not respond with the password when challenged. Plumley admits the mule carcas found its way to 1/9 Cav area. No further contact. LZXRAY 1/7 Cav reunion Columbus GA

Sometimes things just crack me up. I’m trying to figure out just what might have started the discussion?

  • Day of Catastrophe

Nabka Day – The Palestinian Day of Catastrophe this year even has some fireworks of sorts.

    Via The Jerusalem Post:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday responded to the events of Nakba Day, particularly attempts to infiltrate Israel’s borders with Syria, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, saying “we are determined to defend our borders.”

Netanyahu stated that he had instructed the IDF to act with restraint, but to stop all attempts at infiltration and challenges to Israel’s sovereignty.

In a separate and almost laughingly ironic story:

Syria condemned on Sunday Israel’s “criminal activities” in the Golan Heights,Gaza, the West Bank and southern Lebanon where Israeli forces had fired to disperse pro-Palestinian protests.

Israeli troops shot at protesters in three separate locations to prevent crowds from crossing Israeli frontier lines.

There’s a background piece over at the American Thinker:

What is the disaster Nakba Day commemorates? Nothing less than the day on which Israel Declared Independence in 1948. And to add insult to injury, the Palestinians commemorate their national disaster day every year to coincide with Israeli Independence Day, around 15 May.

  • Back to the forefront

Operator Dan has a post up here concerning an article Jonn noted earlier.

I think others have noted this:

INDIANAPOLIS | Overturning a common law dating back to the English Magna Carta of 1215, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Hoosiers have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes.

To say both are  outrageous is quite an understatement.

I don’t confuse the circumstances in Arizona with other issues, and neither should you, but the juxtaposition is certainly odd. YMMV.

Aside: And THIS is only my opinion!!! Emphatically added! One of the blunders in the AZ case is that the Marine was remiss – from available evidence? If that seems obscure… I would drop the hammer if anyone came through one of my doors as described.

  • Good News – The Kinetic Military Action will be over soon

I confess I missed this, but I’m optimistic, aren’t you?
Legal authorization for Libya mission set to expire in 10 days:

That’s according to the War Powers Act, which, you may remember, the White House apparently has no intention of abiding by.

Someone, be it the ACLU, a peace group, or maybe even Rand Paul, is going to file suit if we pass the 60-day deadline without congressional authorization. So there’s the silver lining in this dubious executive move: At last, the War Powers Act will be tested in court.

Some folks have already discovered that using air power alone is rife with  questions.  Who’d a thunk it? Those nasty bad guys, damn them for figuring out a way to hide.

In a few days there will be a dance beginning in DC… grab the popcorn.
