Breitbart and the AFP run a whole article that only tells us one thing, Barack Obama is BLACK. For Pete’s sake! Barack, buddy, WE KNOW. It really doesn’t change anything. The people I know who will not vote for Obama are basing their decision on the fact that he is a liberal, who would drag our country down. Black, white, female, Italian, Mormon, none of these things matter in the long run. What does matter is where each candidate stands on the issues. Do they answer questions differently depending on who they are talking to? (Clinton) Do they make a huge issue of their race, as if being the first black president is more important than being a good president? (Obama) Are they insane little twerps? (Kucinich!) Do they run as Republicans yet espouse liberal views on gays, abortion and guns? (Giuliani) Are they perpetual losers who campaign for the presidency every four years when everyone knows they haven’t a prayer of ever winning? (Biden, Dodd) Do they hide behind their spouse?(Edwards) Or do her “accomplishments” amount to nothing more than riding her husband’s coattails and beating off the bimbos that he chases like a cat after a mouse? Is his greatest accomplishment a blatant restriction of free speech? (McCain)
With the 2008 election a bare year away I have no idea who will get my vote. The democrat candidates scare me, but, I am less than impressed by the republican field so far.
What I do know, is my vote will not be based on the person’s physical appearance for one very simple reason: You cannot tell whether a person is good or bad by looking at them, and to try is foolish. I am sick of hearing about Hillary Clinton being a woman, we KNOW. I don’t care about Edwards’ hair, I’ve had a flattop for 20+years and look down on men who spend more time on their hair than their wives do. That Giuliani was mayor of NYC on 9-11 doesn’t impress me. That McCain was a POW does, but, I am smart enough to know that doesn’t make him infallible. Thompson hasn’t really showed me anything yet, and he suffers in my estimation because of the last actor that was elected (Schwarzenegger)
Yes, I know that all rambles a bit.

Another Day, Another Genuine Hero Ignored by The Media
1LT Walter B. Jackson, became, last Friday only the seventh soldier in the past 32 years to be awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.

Lt. Jackson’s citation in part reads:Â
“Upon regaining consciousness after being shot, second lieutenant alternated between returning fire and administering first aid to the Soldier. Second Lt. Jackson was hit again with machine gun fire as he helped carry his wounded comrade to safety, but he never faltered in his aid. Although his own severe wounds required immediate evacuation and surgical care, 2nd Lt. Jackson refused medical assistance until his wounded comrade could be treated. Second Lt. Jackson’s selfless courage under extreme enemy fire was essential to saving another Soldier’s life and is in keeping with the finest traditions of military service…”
Despite how much the MSM claims to support the troops, they are AGAIN scooped by the bloggers.
Lieutenant Jackson has all my respect and admiration.

LAPD Plans to Map Muslims
KSEQ/AP Story
In a move born of common sense, the LAPD wants to map out the metropolis’ Muslim communities to know where terrorist attacks may come from. The usual suspects are up in arms about this calling it racial profiling. Well, Hell yes, it is profiling. But, that is to be expected when the vast majority of terrorists in the world just happen to be Muslim. There are an estimated 500,000 Muslims in Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties. There were 19 hijackers on 9-11, and none were Presbyterians, nor, Baptists, nor Hasidic Jews. The terrorism that plagues the Middle East is not perpetrated by Methodists or Mormons. To take a closer look at the followers of a religion whose followers have recently exploded without warning is fine with me. To ignore them in the name of ecumenicism is extremely foolish. -
Lieberman: Democrats Beholden to Hyper-partisan Paranoid Base
The Financial Times
Joe Lieberman finally slams the kook base. No, he isn’t telling us anything we don’t know, but, it is refreshing to see someone who was (and really is ) a prominent democrat Speak Truth To Kooks. The 2008 Democratic candidates are beholden to a “hyper-partisan, politically paranoid” liberal base that could endanger the final nominee’s chances of winning next year’s presidential election, Joe Lieberman, the former vice-presidential Democratic candidate, said yesterday He went on to note:“[Today’s Democrats] are inclined to see international problems as a result of America’s engagement with the world and are viscerally opposed to the use of force – the polar opposite to the self-confident and idealistic nationalism of the party I grew up in.” While it is nice to see some honesty from a democrat, don’t expect this to become widespread too soon. The kook fringe donates enough money that the DNC will cater to them for the foreseeable future. -
Man Who Shot George Wallace To Be Released From Prison
After serving thirty-five years of a fifty-three year sentence, Arthur Bremer is soon to be released.
Wallace, a fiery segregationist during the 1960s, was wounded on May 15, 1972, during a campaign stop in Laurel, Md. He abandoned his bid for the Democratic nomination, spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair and died in 1998.
Bremer was convicted of attempted murder.
Sentenced to FIFTY-THREE YEARS for ATTEMPTED murder?! He actually served 35 years of that! That, alone is remarkable. Actual murderers have gotten shorter sentences and have served far less time.
Don’t look for too much depth on this story in the MSM, they’d rather we forget Wallace’s racist past… -
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha, You’re Suing the Wrong Person
The Houston Chronicle has this story
Marsha Richard, widow of executed Rapist and Murderer Michael Richard is suing Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Presiding Judge Sharon Keller in federal court for not giving special treatment to the convicted rapist and murderer’s attorneys. Keller ordered the clerk’s office close at promptly at five o’clock, you know, what most people recognize as the end of the business day. Her lawsuit claims that because her (murdering, raping) husband’s attorneys were not able to file an appeal to the Texas court, which would have had to have been ruled on before their planned appeal to the US Supreme Court, caused her husband to be unjustly executed. Here’s the thing: Richard wasn’t claiming innocence in that appeal, what his attorneys were trying to do was latch on to a case out of Kentucky, that was before the USSC, that claimed lethal injection constituted cruel and unusual punishment. It isn’t the Judge’s job to make sure attorneys do their work in a timely manner. Yes, the attorney had asked for more time due to computer problems, but, you know what? It isn’t the Judge’s job to ensure the convicted murdering rapist’s attorney’s computers worked properly either.
If Mrs Richard wants to sue someone, perhaps she should sue the attorneys who failed to file the appeal in a timely manner, and who overlooked judges that were available after business hours:Three other judges later said they were available that evening and could have handled Richard’s appeal if they had known about it.
Here is a lovely quote from the grieving widow:
“He was on death row, so chances are he was going to be executed. But to have your appeal denied for no rhyme or reason? That’s wrong,” Marsha Richard, 43, said during a news conference outside the Houston federal courthouse Wednesday. The home health aide married Michael Richard in 2002. “No matter what side of the death penalty you fall on, we’re still dealing with human beings. Their lives are in the balance.”
Come on now, Marsha, the appeal wasn’t filed in time, that is neither the fault, nor the responsibility of anyone other than the lawyers who were trying to keep your husband alive, despite his crimes. Mrs Richard is quoted by the AP
as saying: I would ask her why she just couldn’t wait a few more minutes. It wouldn’t have cost her anything to do this
I don’t know Marsha, perhaps the Judge thought, as I do, that the rules should apply to everyone equally and that convicted murderers shouldn’t get special treatment. Or, maybe, she [the judge] thought that after over twenty years the victim’s family finally saw Richard pay for his crimes. Either way, justice was done. -
Terry Stater Column
Terry Stater has written an outstanding column entitled: The Second Casualty of War, you can find it HERE on STLToday.com
A short excerpt: If “In war, truth is the first casualty,” the second is the image and reputation of our military. It has been under attack for 40 years. It isn’t the primary target; it is collateral damage, or a useful secondary target, in a war on the war.Debate on the Iraq war is legitimate. Dissent can be patriotic. But the campaign against the honor, courage and integrity of our troops isn’t just unpatriotic; it is despicable. It is treason. The honor of those who serve cannot be tarnished or stolen. It is diminished only in those who try. Those who denigrate our military often begin with, “I support the troops, but….”
Very worthwhile reading. -
Two More Things That Are Bush’s Fault
The numbers are in! The AP Reports that:Homelessness is down and Productivity is up! Someone must be to blame…
Oh, yeah, it’s Bush’s Fault! Good news from the economy again. But, but, the democrats told us that tax cuts were BAD, and would ruin the economy…The number of people who are chronically homeless dropped by nearly 12 percent from 2005 to 2006, according to government estimates being released Wednesday.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development credited government programs designed to move homeless people into permanent housing.
Twelve percent fewer homeless in ONE YEAR!
The Labor Department reported that productivity—the amount of output per hour of work—jumped at an annual rate of 4.9 percent in the July-September quarter. That was double the 2.2 percent rise in the second quarter and represented the fastest surge in worker efficiency since 2003
Productivity up 4.9 percent in Three Months! Fastest surge in efficiency in four years!
Damn that Bush and his economic policies…
