    In what could be one of the most unsurprising moves in electioneering, Senator Hillary (Cankles) Clinton came out firmly against driver’s licenses for illegals. After countless news stories and blog entries about how over seventy percent of voters oppose giving legal id to illegals. How brave, Senator, how brave.     For his part NY Governor Eliot Spitzer pulled his proposal saying:“It does not take a stethoscope to hear the pulse of New Yorkers on this topic,” A stethoscope? Really? The howls of righteous outrage weren’t a clue? Isn’t it remarkable that both Clinton and Spitzer firm up on the correct answer so close together? Newsbusters has a story on New York Post reporter Fred Dicker telling Chris Matthews that the Clinton camp “encouraged” Spitzer to make the call.Yeah, we believe she did. We were told — I was told — at a very high level in New York politics that Mrs. Clinton’s campaign or some of her top people signaled to Governor Spitzer’s people that he had damaged her. They were wondering what the heck he was up to, why did he bring it to the floor now, and made it clear that the governor was hurting her and he ought to back down if he wanted to help her, which he says he wants to do.

    If waiting to see which way the wind blows before “making a decision” is leadership, then both Clintons are remarkable leaders. But, that isn’t what leadership is. Leadership is making the decision you know is right, with no regard to how popular it might be. Leadership is having the courage to stand by your convictions, not the patience to wait for polling numbers to come in. The Clintonesque manner of leadership accomplished so much under Bill, didn’t it?

    A 24 year old hippy loser fell out of the tree he has been staying in to keep UC Berkeley from removing it. His hippy brethren had built a traverse line so they could get past the fence the university had built to keep hippies out of the trees. University spokesman Dan Mogulof says the fall is not the university’s fault.”The accident is very regrettable but to state the obvious, completely avoidable,” he said. “Things like this wouldn’t happen if people who are illegally occupying university property were obeying the law.”This Hippy Now Believes in Gravity While the hippy in question, Nate Hill, claims this wouldn’t have happened had the university not put up the fence.   • “U” Visa Will Make Criminals Legal

    This from a Breitbart/AP story: OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – A 13-year-old illegal immigrant who fled to his native Mexico amid a sex scandal with his schoolteacher could be eligible to return to the United States under a new visa the government started granting the week before he disappeared.

    The visa helps illegal immigrants who are victims of sex crimes. If the boy, who spent most of his life in Lexington, Neb., qualifies, he could stay legally in the United States for four years and eventually apply for permanent residency. It also would extend temporary residency to his parents and his unmarried siblings under 18, if they applied for it.

    “It’s a win-win,” U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services spokeswoman Marilu Cabrera said of the so-called “U” visa. “It helps us and law enforcement be able to solve a crime, and it certainly helps the individual who is a victim of a crime.”

    The boy and middle school teacher Kelsey Peterson were found in a mall parking lot in the border town of Mexicali, Mexico, 1,500 miles from where the pair disappeared on Oct. 26. Authorities searched for them for one week.

    There has been no allegation that the boy was with his teacher against his will. In fact, to suggest that would ignore the facts in this case. So what we have is an illegal alien willingly leaving the country and Customs and Immigration Services trying to not only help him return, but, grant him permanent residency and legalize his entire family. Gee, small wonder we have so many illegal immigrants here.

  • Britain’s Daily Telegraph Pulls Staff From Pakistan

    Britain’s Daily Telegraph Newspaper has withdrawn it’s correspondents from Pakistan in fear of reprisals over a stunningly frank editorial from last week that referred to Pervez Musharraf in, well, less than flattering terms. Much less than flatering: In the old parlance, General Pervez Musharraf is “our sonofabitch”. He has failed to stamp out extremist groups and close the madrassas that inspire them. He has allowed the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan to fall into the hands of assorted jihadis.and But that should not blind Britain and America to the fact that their “sonofabitch” in Pakistan is a spent force.
    I find this refreshing. It is nice to see a major newspaper avoid the parsing of words that passes for journalism in this day and age. What is so wrong with calling a spade a spade? The biggest problem I have with today’s rampant political correctness is the abject fear most people have of calling things as they see them. Facts are facts and if calling Musharraf “Our sonofobitch” is crass, it is also directly on point. What surprises me about this story is that I have yet to see widespread condemnation of the Daily Telegraph by the rest of the MSM. Let us hope against hope that this editorial sparks a change in reporting.

  • Obama Strategy Revealed: Vote for Me! I’ll Raise Your Taxes

    Senator Barack (Vote for me, I’m Black) Obama (D Illinois) has announced another brilliant plank in his campaign platform: He wants to raise taxes. Yes, I know, this is hardly new coming from a democrat candidate, but, Obama’s plan is different.

    He isn’t claiming he’ll only raise taxes on those nefarious “Rich” people, oh no, Barry boy wants to raise EVERYONE’s taxes. How? “I think the best way to approach this is to adjust the cap on the payroll tax so that people like myself are paying a little bit more and people who are in need are protected,” the Illinois senator said.

    That’s right, he wants to raise your taxes, and take it off the top. “And he has said, and I think a lot of us who have been fortunate are willing to pay a little bit more to make sure that a senior citizen who is struggling to deal with rising property taxes or rising heating bills, that they’ve got the coverage that they need,” Obama said, speaking of Billionaire Warren Buffett. Ain’t that great? A billionaire and a senator who want to reach deeper into your pocket…

    These seniors who supposedly struggle with rising property taxes… Did they think they weren’t going to get old? Is the rest of the population responsible when some don’t plan for their own futures? Personal responsibility and freedom go hand in hand.

  • Prosecutor and Judge Apologize for Sending Illegal Alien to Jail

    Luis Lopez is an illegal alien. While driving drunk, 14 months ago, he got into a car accident that resulted in the death of his brother-in-law. While he has been supporting his sister’s family, which, if he hadn’t killed her husband, wouldn’t need the support, that doesn’t change the fact that he is guilty, and plead guilty, to vehicular manslaughter. Nor does it change the fact that by his mere presence in this country he is committing a crime, a crime, by the way, that he was not prosecuted for, nor, apparently, will he be punished for.
    Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Alexander described the sentencing as a “lose-lose situation” and told the judge she feared “re-victimizing” Mr. Pelaez’s wife and two children.Like the judge though, she said Lopez needed to be punished for getting behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol content of .13 – .05 more than the legal limit in Maryland.

    “He should not have been on the roadway,” she said.

    Ms. Alexander noted Lopez had a clean record before the crash and that the victim’s family did not attend the hearing. She recommended only that Lopez spend some time in jail.
    “Shouldn’t have been on the roadway”. Sweetheart, had he not been in the country illegaly, his brother-in-law (VICTIM) wouldn’t be dead!Yeah, punishing the guy responsible for the death of their husband and father is “Re-victimizing” them.
    Through an interpreter, Lopez himself asked the judge for lenience.“I have never done anything bad in my life,” he said, explaining he regrets everything that happened that night. “I have to do many things to help my big family.” Except for that whole Illegal Immigration thing, and the killing his brother-in-law while driving drunk thing, except for those he’s as pure as the driven snow. What really infuriates me, is that ICE, the re-branded Border Patrol won’t deport a single person from either of these two families. It isn’t that we don’t have the capacity to round up illegals, the powers that be are too gutless to deport them when they are handed to them on a silver platter.
