Anthony Gambino Pleads Guilty to Stolen Valor Charge

Jonn sends us a reminder why we do not take cases down.    Jonn last posted about this clown HERE.  Gambino had started a “Security” company and liked to make videos and publish pictures of himself with lots of scary black guns.

That is a particularly stupid thing to do when you are a convicted felon and still wanted on other charges.

Gambino — formerly known as Anthony Lee Martinez — was charged on May 12 in federal court on the firearms charge and with violating the Stolen Valor Act of 2013 by falsely claiming a decoration or medal to obtain money, property or other tangible benefits, according to the criminal complaint.

When Jonn originally posted about Gambino last year, he showed up in the comment section of that post running his mouth.  Some guy that posts around here regularly told him to piss off.

He did manage to followup with this letter:

This is a letter to inform you that I will be obtaining your information and sueing for Libel. We have already took pictures of your artical ,comments, etc. One must reseach things before printing damaging and false information. KRQE is in the same situation. Gambino Security Corporation was not a fraud and media cost millions of damage. Thank you for your time and i hope in your future your organization is more careful as libel is a crime. Sincerely, Anthony Gambino

Gambino’s lawyer babbled on about this all being some kind of misunderstanding.  He claimed that all of this was a result of the Governments right hand not talking to its left hand.  We had no idea what that meant then and still don’t now.  What we did know was that Gambino got thrown out of the Marine Corps because of a fraudulent enlistment and he had made claims of military awards that he was using to promote himself and his business.

An article published yesterday by the Daily Times reports that Gambino pleaded guilty to charges of violating the Stolen Valor Act.  I guess he figured the long arm of justice would prevail.  Just a friendly reminder to all the Sock Puppets, Raving Loons and Babbling Barristers why we do not take down cases.

There is another great article concerning Gambino and his antics over at The Burn Pit.  A well written celebration of  our Bambino being held accountable.  It is also evidence that not everyone who studies jurisprudence becomes a Babbling Barrister.

  • Juan Carlos Cruzvaladez, Fake Navy SEAL

Juan Carlos Cruzvaladez, Fake Navy SEAL

The staff over at militaryphony.com continue diving for fake Navy SEALS.  They send us this Juan Carlos Cruzvaladez individual.  It seems he has been making claims all over social media for a while that he is a Navy SEAL .

Ahhh, and the always ever present tattoo.

It appears that he also makes claims of being some kind of secret undercover agent, except on FaceBook where everyone on the interwebnet thingy knows about it. You can see the rest of what is posted about this guy HERE.   Of course militaryphony.com checked the SEAL database and mysteriously could not find our little buddy listed, so they ordered his records.

We checked the UDT/SEAL database and were not all that shocked to learn he never graduated from BUD/S. A FOIA request was sent to get his official records. We learned that he originally served 4 years and 3 months as an ABH. It also seems that he came back in as a reservist or returning Navy Veteran to add 3 more months to his active duty time. He served on the USS Tarawa and the USS Harry S Truman. Under ‘SCHOOLS’ it lists “none”. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon for his first block of service. He received no awards for the second block.

Making waves about being a Navy SEAL these days is just not what it used to be.  Juan Carlos Cruzvaladez was never a Navy SEAL, he should have been proud of the service he did have.

  • John David Guess; Phony as they come

John David Guess; Phony as they come

Someone sent us John “David” Guess who likes to dress up as a Colonel of United States Marines.  I thought about going through that ribbon salad and trying to figure out what the hell all that is but you people will probably figure out what they are.  Honestly, there are some awards in there I have never seen before.

I should offer some kind of reward for the first person that can name every award there.  The short list of what is not there includes the MOH and the Brevet Medal.  Obviously, his picture seems a bit odd so we decided to order his records.

My guess about Guess is more than just a guess, it turns out he tried to become an Engineer of some sort and the Corps decided he was better suited to be a grunt.  It appears he was transferred to the Reserves after less than 6 months of active duty.  He was discharged as a Corporal.

So it turns out he is kinda like a Colonel except its spelled Corporal and he doesn’t have all the ribbons and badges.  He does have something called an ORCR and I will give extra points  to whomever figures that out. Nothing screams legit more than some high speed Neo shades and a goofy watch band.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention his recent promotion.  During our investigation we found that he is now putting “Gen Guess” down as part of his return address.  Everyone knows Colonels all get bumped to General after they retire.   Sometimes I really miss the days when I could pontificate in comment section…yes, pontificate describes it perfectly.

  • House Bill proposed to protect Purple Heart

House Bill proposed to protect Purple Heart

The Purple Heart Preservation Act, or H.R. 544 would make it illegal to sell the Purple Heart medal and or the Certificate of Award for a Purple Heart.  The Bill is named after Private Corrado Piccoli who was wounded during World War II.   An article HERE has some information about it.

The bill would prevent merchants from selling military-issued Purple Hearts, eliminating the market for such medals and making it easier for stolen or misplaced medals to be returned to their rightful owners. It would not prevent the sale of replacement medals through authorized sellers.

One would think that is pretty straight forward.  If you were never authorized to wear a Purple Heart, you should probably not own one.  But, as with all matters of common sense these days:

“Many opponents of the bill have questioned its restrictions of civil liberties in regards to the right of a veteran or family to sell their medal if they do so choose. The bill still allows these parties to gift their medals, and it allows medal enthusiast to still own them,” according to the organization. “The bill simply prevents selling them, which protects the integrity of the medal itself and the legacy and or sacrifice of that veteran. We as a country owe them that respect.”

I doubt selling a Purple Heart is considered a Civil Liberty by most Americans.  There are several organizations that work diligently to protect and preserve the Purple Heart medal and those who earned it.  Purple Hearts Reunited spends a lot of energy and time doing exactly that.

Mission: To return lost or stolen military medals of valor to veterans or their families, in order to honor their sacrifice to the nation.

I have an idea for those who earned a Purple Heart and need a few bucks.  Turn it back in to supply, something about being wounded and then selling the medal is repugnant.  When you turn it back into supply bring the voucher here to TAH and some of us will scrape up enough money to get you a bus ticket and launch you on a journey to find your self respect.

  • Bruce Schupp; phony Marine

    Bruce Schupp; phony Marine

Some people in Port Townsend, Washington contacted militaryphony.com about a Bruce Schupp character.  It seems Mr. Schupp started a Patriot Guard Rider’s Chapter.

We do not recommend that phony Marines try to start clubs of any kind, trying to fake being a Marine at the head of a Patriot Guard Chapter is particularly dumb.  Sporting around with medals and awards one has not earned in the midst of real Marines is probably not wise either.

Well, it seems militaryphony.com was unable to find any military service for Bruce Schupp.  You can click on their link for the rest of the investigation.

We hear reports of all kinds about mischief in the past of Bruce Schupp.  It sounds like some kind of Medal Recovery Guard  has been formed with some early success in their efforts.

  • Joseph McSpadden; Fake Navy SEAL

And now comes before us the intimidating Joe McSpadden.  I guess the people at militaryphony.com were getting reports that Joey was using his awesome training as a Navy SEAL to scare people.

Apparently, there are claims that he was wounded as well.  I bet you will never guess  what kind of tattoo he has.

He even likes to give out advice on how to properly get a Navy SEAL tattoo.  You can read all about it HERE.  People seemed to have questions and doubts about his claims, so they ordered his official records through a FOIA request.

Joe McSpadden was a Hull Tech. 2 years, 10 months and 14 days on active duty.  Nothing at all wrong with being a Hull Tech and learning a job skill like welding.  He did no SEAL training and has no record of a combat injury.  But, I guess he has that tattoo going for him.   They say he tried to explain the tattoo away by claiming it was to honor his dead brother.   Call me skeptical, but I am having trouble choking down that kind of thing.  It looks like little Joey has been busy scrubbing pages on the interwebnet thingy already.

  • Mikey Weinstein and the Un-Thinking Atheist; Seth Andrews

It seems that Seth Andrews “thinks” that Mikey Weinstein has his thumb on the pulse of religious matters in the military.  Seth has a website and does a weekly podcast that he puts out on YouTube.  When Seth announced several weeks ago that he was having Weinstein appear as an expert on Religion and the Military, I tried to contact Seth several times.  All I heard in return were crickets of course.  Mikey launched off into one of his usual rants.  Evidently we are under attack by evil forces called “Dominionists”.  Seth described the picture that his expert on Religion and the Military painted was like a Dr. Strange-love scenario and a “Rabid Dominionist Evangelical with his finger on the button”.  You can listen to Mikey as Seth gives him a Pulpit to preach from and form your own opinion.

In my opinion Mikey sets himself up as some kind of modern Don Quixote and Seth becomes a version of Sancho Panza gleefully waging war against evil Dominionist windmills.  Their battlefield seems to be littered with the remains of an Army of Strawmen.  At this point Weinstein is so predictable I could have wrote the script well in advance, in fact I tried to.  When I tried to contact Seth in advance I included links to this site and others in an effort to establish that I might know a thing or two about the military.   Somehow  Seth twisted that into me trying to promote myself.  I then attempted to show that I was not an evil troll unfamiliar with his work by pointing out that I have been a supporter of his for years, I even brought up some examples of projects he did in the past that I supported.  Seth basically said I was a liar.

As they say, no good deed goes unpunished.  I posted “evidence” on my FB page to support my statements but oddly he has not found it necessary to respond.  The father of the young lady mentioned is a United States Marine.  She was a courageous young lady whom I admired.  What Seth did by helping bring attention to her issue was an honor to participate in.

I know that several who post here regularly  are Atheist, including myself.  We also have Pagans, Mormons, Jews, and yes Christians.  I know this because we have discussed the topic on these pages countless times.  I am saddened that Seth did not take the opportunity to meet veterans and active military members that post here who have different views on faith but cherish a deep and abiding respect for one another.  Mikey Weinstein does not paint an accurate picture of Religion in the Military.  He is actually loathed by Atheists, Pagans, Jews, Mormons and Christians who serve our country.

Mikey Weinstein continues to profit from his version of evangelical, born again, rabid, pulpit pounding .  But, at least I tried to shed some light on his antics.  Substitute Satan, Infidel, Apostate, or even Atheist for the word Dominionist during his rant and there is little difference in the hyperbole.  I guess I am just a liar who is out to promote myself and Weinstein has all veterans on his speed dial.

Anyway, in an effort to conduct scientific experimentation on the existence of the hereafter I have been trying an adaptation of Native American methods to catch dreams…nothing caught yet but I am hopeful.

  • Rollie Matthew Abshire; Fake Navy SEAL

Rollie Matthew Abshire; Fake Navy SEAL

It seems the people over at militaryphony.com are backlogged with fake SEALS these days.  Just a tip for SEAL posers, don’t ever try to claim you know a real one.  Me thinks there be real ones hanging around these parts.  Rollie Abshire likes to post claims of being a real Navy SEAL on social media and has pictures of him with all of his SEAL friends.

We cropped the picture for obvious reasons, but Mr. Luttrell and the rest of the people in that picture have no idea who this Rollie kid is. There are other claims of course and you can see them HERE   I bet you are as shocked as I am that his records from a FOIA request don’t seem to jive with his claims.

I guess the investigators became curious about the duty assignment that was blacked out, so they looked it up.

I don’t think the NAVAL BRIG in Norfolk, VA is part of the training echelon for Navy SEALS.  But hey, anything is possible with a guy the skyrocketed to E-1.  Of course there is the tattoo, I can not leave out the tattoo. Removing that is going to leave a mark.

Maybe people don’t really understand that  “An incredibly large Trident tattoo does not make you a SEAL.”  Go figure.
