  • Syria shoots down Russian plane.

    With friends like this, who needs enemies?

    A Russian maritime patrol aircraft with multiple personnel on board was inadvertently shot down by Syrian regime anti-aircraft artillery on Monday after the Syrians came under attack by Israeli missiles, according to a US official with knowledge of the incident

    The US official said the regime was actually trying to stop a barrage of Israeli missiles. A second official confirmed that Israel was responsible for the missile strikes on the Syrian regime.
    The Russian state news agency TASS reported that a Russian IL-20 military aircraft with 14 personnel on board disappeared over the Mediterranean on Monday. According to TASS, the ministry of defense specified that “the mark of IL-20 went off the radars disappeared during the attack of four Israeli F-16 aircraft on Syrian targets in the province of Latakia.”
    The Israelis had fired multiple missiles against targets in the coastal area of Latakia where Russian has based much of its military presence, including aircraft. In an attempt to strike back against the Israelis, the Syrians launched extensive anti-aircraft fire, the official said and the Russian aircraft was hit.
    The US found out about the incident because Syrian forces broadcast an emergency search and rescue radio call on an international frequency. The US then got a direct message from another country about the type of aircraft and circumstances of the incident. The official would not identify that country, but it is likely that Russia is the only nation that would know exactly what type of aircraft was shot down.
    A spokesman for the Pentagon told CNN that the missiles were not fired by the US military but would not speak as to who was behind the strikes. An Israel Defense Forces spokesman declined to comment on the reports.
    It’s a CNN story so it will be Trump’s fault in the end.

    A Clay County, Florida, woman says an armed teen confronted her in a Walmart, demanded sex, then ran out of the store after a customer with a concealed carry license intervened. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office quickly captured the teen and confirmed the details, including the fact that the teen “threatened [the woman] with a knife, while making explicit demands.” CCSO also confirmed that the intervention of the customer caused the teen to flee the store.

    The woman at the center of the story, Alis Muntain, used a Facebook post to recount the incident. She began by alleging, “Tonight, I was threatened with a knife in Walmart. In FLEMING ISLAND. I am convinced that I would’ve been stabbed had it not been for the divine timing of another customer walking by who just happened to have a concealed carry license.”

    I was making a quick run to get cat food and litter. My arms were so full that I was sitting in the aisle contemplating whether I wanted to put it down and search for a cart when a teenager (15-17) approached me. I thought he was going to see if I needed help, but then he asked how old I was. A bit confused by the question, I just assumed he needed help himself and wanted to verify that I was an adult. I hesitantly replied with my age. He then said “I want you to have sex with me. I have a knife in my pocket.”, proceeding to pull out his pocket and show me that there was indeed a knife there. I blinked, paused, and then said “Are you aware that we’re on camera?”
    “Yes.”
    “I want to make you aware that I have a husband and a THREE year old son waiting in my car for me. They will be looking for me soon.”
    “Yes.”
    “And you are threatening me with a knife if I don’t have sex with you?”
    “Yes.”

    The CCSO found and arrested the teen “in less than 10 minutes from the original call” on the incident.

    Memphis police are investigating a deadly shooting which led to a crash in Oakhaven.

    It happened around 7:35 a.m. in the 3400 block of Birdsong Ferry.

    Here is what we know: A man broke into the home and was shot by someone inside the home.   According to a relative of the burglary victim, the homeowner shot the man.   The suspect fled the scene and crashed near Shelby Drive and Tchulahoma Road.

    He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

    Leslie Simmons is the burglary victim’s Aunt. She said she’s thankful he was not hurt.

    “I was nervous till I got here and I know that he’s ok now,” Simmons said. “However, I’m a little bit sad for the person who got hurt.”

    Pedophile’s Decapitated Corpse Found On Judge’s Doorstep After Bail Hearing In Aurora, Illinois

    The decapitated corpse that was found on a judge’s doorstep in Aurora, Illinois has been identified as belonging to a notorious pedophile who was recently allowed to walk free on bail by the judge, according to reports.

    William Smith, 28, from Aurora, Illinois was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday morning, decapitated and slumped against the front door of the judge who had granted him bail in August.

    Smith was arrested last month following allegations by his then girlfriend that he had raped her 8-year-old daughter.

    After a police investigation in which Smith was found in possession of child pornography, he was arrested on two counts related to child pornography and one count of child molestation.

    The folks at Military Phony sent us their work on this fellow – Jose Francisco Cotto – who claims he was a Navy SEAL.

    Jose’s Facebook profile oozes with the claims of Navy SEAL.

    So does his bling…

    Jose claims he was in the Navy from 1983 – 1998.

    Oddly, he claims he was in BUD/S class 173 in 1982 on the UDT SEAL Museum page.

    Unless ‘1982’ was a typo, this would have him being in BUD/S while he was still on Delayed Entry in 1982.

    The National Personnel Records Center shows an alternative version of Jose’s career.

    Cotto’s official military records show 1982 – 1985, slightly less than 3 years, vs. the 1983 – 1998 that he claimed.  He had a hospital stay and was discharged soon after.  Difficult to believe he was on TDRL for fourteen years – the limit is five years.

    In any case, Jose’s records DO NOT list any SEAL training (BUD/S) or show him as being attached to any SEAL Teams.  Jose served during a time when others wouldn’t.  As is all too often the case with people who embellish their service record it appears that his time in the military ended prematurely.

    Enlisted MOH recipients and POWs denied full military honors at Arlington?

    I am honestly dismayed by this policy.  Flabbergasted,  should full military honors for these veterans not be the only and obvious choice?

    A House bill seeks to afford enlisted Medal of Honor recipients and former Prisoners of War the right to be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.

    Those honors, which include an escort and horse-drawn caisson, are currently reserved only for officers and servicemembers killed in action.

    One would think this would be corrected by Congress with unanimous support in short order.

    The Full Military Honors Act of 2018 was introduced to the House Armed Services Committee on Sept. 7 by Rep. Mike Bishop, R-Mich.; Sam Johnson, R-Texas; and Tim Walz, D-Minn. The congressmen are working to bring the legislation before the full chamber this fall.

    “Medal of Honor recipients and POWs have earned and deserve nothing less than full military honors,” Walz said in a statement. “As a retired enlisted soldier of 24 years, I’m proud to join in introducing the Full Military Honors Act. To help ensure we honor the sacrifices these heroes and their families have made for our country, we must pass it without delay.”

    I realize Congress has its hands full investigating investigators of ongoing investigations, but honestly… this should not require any significant thought.  You can read the entire article HERE.

    A Gainesville man is dead after police say he broke into a northwest condo and was shot by the homeowner.

    Police responded to a home on NW 28th Lane at 6:52 a.m. Sunday morning, after the elderly homeowner called police to report he had just shot an intruder in his home.  When police arrived, they found Gregory Miller, 52, lying inside the living room with apparent gunshot wounds.

    Officers attempted emergency aid but Miller died on the scene.

    Investigators are still working to identify what led up to the shooting.  The elderly homeowner has been cooperative with police, and charges are not expected to be filed.

    Diners at a southwest Houston Whataburger ran for their lives after gunfire erupted overnight.
    Police say the 10 customers inside the restaurant at 7629 West Bellfort got out quickly as a security guard shot and killed an armed robber.

    “I was literally about to put my chip in to pay and my cousin’s like, ‘Go’,” customer Jayvier Green said.  Witnesses told Eyewitness News that a man with a white bandana entered the restaurant around 1 a.m., and immediately opened fire.  “I see a dude in a white bandana pull out a gun like it’s a movie or something, and start shooting behind the counter,” Green recalled.

    The restaurant’s security guard spotted the intruder and returned fire, shooting the man four times in his right leg.  “He’s pretty shaken up, but I explained to him and the other officer explained to him, that he did a great job,” Houston police officer, Cullen Duncan, said.

    Police say the suspect continued to move behind the counter, not realizing he had been shot.  Minutes later, the suspect exited the restaurant and tried to flee in an unknown vehicle.

    First responders found the man inside of the car and attempted CPR.

    Officials say one of the bullets hit an artery, causing the man to bleed out.

    No customers or employees were injured during the crossfire.

    Maybe its just me but I seem to be hearing about more and more of this nonsense lately.  Everyone is obligated to identify as a victim of some sort.  People say bad things about me all the time, I even get a note now and then.   I am expecting several notes when I get back to the boat, you people can not imagine the fun I have ridiculing those who think they are SeaPersons.  Everybody wants to be Captian until its time to do Captain stuff.  I never really blamed my sarcastic and abrasive nature on my Caucasian-ishness.  I will try writing notes to myself just to see how it “feels”.

    A Long Island woman was charged with fabricating a story about a Trump-related hate crime.

    Officials said 19-year-old Adwoa Lewis, of Baldwin, told police Friday that she was driving home when a group of four teenagers approached her, yelled “Trump 2016!” and stated that she didn’t belong here.

    Lewis also claimed that after she parked her car in front of her house, she woke up the next day to find slashed tires and a note that read, “Go Home.”

    After an investigation, police learned that this altercation did not take place, and police said Lewis admitted to writing the hateful note and placing it on her own car.

    Lewis is charged with making a false punishable written statement and was released on an appearance ticket.

    Adwoa could not possibly imagine how many times I have been told to “Go Home”,  I never realized it was a White Thing.  She does look like a sweet young lady that is full of love and passion for life.
