Apparently Democrats have abandoned the “Screw the Wounded Vet Act of 2009” and Nacy starts the spin cycle.

(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced on Wednesday afternoon that President Barack Obama is shelving a controversial proposal that would have forced the private health insurance of veterans to pay for their war- and service-related injuries.

“President Obama listened to the genuine concerns expressed by the veteran service organizations regarding the option of billing service-connected injuries to veterans’ insurance companies,” said Pelosi. “Based on the respect President Obama has for veterans and the principle concerns of our veteran leaders, the president made the decision that combat wounds should not be billed through their insurance policies.”

President Obama DID NOT listen to the concerns of veteran service organizations! They raised their concerns in a meeting with him, Shinseki and Emanuel at the White House and were told basically “Too friggin bad, we’re doing it anyway”.

This flip happened because in spite of a glaring lack of competency in the White House, Rahm and the boys can read polls and of course blogs. I take no credit in the outrage but the post demanding Shinseki’s head got more links than any post I ever did.

Oh and by the way General Mr. Shinseki, your window has closed.

You had the opportunity to resign in protest and would have immediately became a hero to veterans and with it a voice so loud and righteous that no one could ever ignore you. Instead you opted to throw all of us under the famed Obama bus purely for personal benefit.

You are nothing more than a self-promoting political lackey and you can never again claim even a spoonful of integrity!

It is very likely that the Commanding General of Fort Rucker, Alabama just provided a very effective example of how to do just that.

Remember the shooting rampage that took place in and around Samson, Alabama? Well, apparently sometime during the crisis, Major General James Barclay III (or someone on his behalf) gave the dumbest order of his career.

(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. Army has launched an inquiry into how and why active duty troops from Fort Rucker, Ala., came to be placed on the streets of Samson, Ala., during last week’s murder spree in that tiny South Alabama community. The use of the troops was a possible violation of federal law.

“On March 10, after a report of an apparent mass murder in Samson, Ala., 22 military police soldiers from Fort Rucker, Ala., along with the provost marshal, were sent to the city of Samson,” Harvey Perritt, spokesman for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) at Fort Monroe, Va., told CNSNews.com on Monday.

“The purpose for sending the military police, the authority for doing so, and what duties they performed is the subject of an ongoing commander’s inquiry–directed by the commanding general of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Gen. Martin Dempsey.”

It is difficult for me to imagine that this idea was staffed for more than about 15 seconds and that lends me to suspect that this decision was likely a knee-jerk that came from the top.

It is clearly illegal and I doubt you could find very many Second Lieutenants who aren’t aware that this is illegal.

Wrongful use of federal troops inside U.S. borders is a violation of several federal laws, including one known as the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, Title 18, Section 1385 of the U.S. Code.

“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both,” the law states.

But wait a minute. Didn’t Wes Clark do the exact same thing back in 1993?

Lowell Ponte seems to think so.

On a late winter day in 1993, Texas Governor Ann Richards suddenly called the base, later meeting with Clark’s Number Two to discuss an urgent matter. Crazies at a Waco compound had killed Federal agents. If newly-sworn-in President Bill Clinton signed a waiver setting aside the Posse Comitatus Act, which generally prohibits the military from using its arms against American citizens within our borders, could Fort Hood supply tanks and other equipment?

Clinton did. Wesley Clark’s command at Fort Hood “lent” 17 pieces of armor and 15 active service personnel under his command to the Waco Branch Davidian operation. It is absolute fact that the military equipment used by the government at Waco came from Fort Hood and Clark’s command.
The only issue debated by experts is whether Clark was at Waco in person to help direct the assault against the church compound in a scene remarkably similar to the incineration of villagers in a church by the British in Mel Gibson’s movie “The Patriot.”

What happened at Waco was the death, mostly by fire, of at least 82 men, women and children, including two babies who died after being “fire aborted” from the dying bodies of their pregnant mothers.

Planning for this final assault involved a meeting between Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno and two military officers who developed the tactical plan used but who have never been identified.

Some evidence and analysis suggests that Wesley Clark was one of these two who devised what happened at Waco.

I don’t see much difference in what two over-zealous Two-Star Generals did except that one was in collusion with the DOJ and the White House but I bet the outcome will be significantly different.

When retired General Erik K. Shinseki was announced as the new head of the Department of Veterans Affairs, I applauded the President’s choice. That in itself is very unusual for me.

I didn’t do that because Gen. Shinseki and I have always agreed, we have not; but I know Gen. Shinseki personally and have always thought of him as a thoughtful, brilliant officer that put the affairs of soldiers at the top of his priorities. Especially me.

When then MG Shinseki first took command of 1st Cavalry Division I was a brand new Captain (and light fighter struggling in a heavy Armor Division). Shinseki was a very welcomed arrival in the division because nothing could be worse than the previous commander, MG Wes Clark.

The difference was day and night. Within weeks morale had swung 180 degrees!

Then something amazing happened to me. I was offered command of an Infantry company. The problem was I had not yet attended the required Infantry Officer Advance Course at Fort Benning and Infantry Branch said NO WAY.

Shinseki got involved and after a long discussing with me and my commander, he called whoever division commanders call and I took command within two weeks. He pulled the same rabbit out of his hat 16 months later and ultimately I did go to the advance course but I had 30 months of company command under my belt when I arrived.

Years later I found myself in the Pentagon when General Shinseki showed up as the new Army Chief of Staff. I was very happy for him and told everyone who would listen that he was a soldier’s General.

Then came his directive that all soldiers would be issued a black beret!

As a former member of the 75th Ranger Regiment along with Jonn, I vehemently disagreed with his decision and told him so.

But my faith in him as a soldier and officer of impeccable integrity made me accept the order. I am an old soldier and when a General gives an order that is not illegal, unethical or immoral, I salute and move out whether I personally like it or not.

This new approach to screwing veterans however is beyond my parameters. Based on implied contract rules of law where there is not a veteran alive today that ever thought he would be liable for his own care after a combat related injury; I am not at all certain that this change is remotely LAWFUL.

Even if some pony-tailed Chicago lawyer finds a loophole to make this legal, no one with an IQ above that of a pencil sharpener can argue that it is ETHICAL.

But most important is the MORAL part. Anyone who thinks this idea is remotely moral is either retarded or just plain un-American. Where is the morality in a country sending a person to war and then refusing to pay for his care after being maimed in the war?

This is beyond immoral, it is un-American! And I will debate this issue with any dumbass veteran who voted for this amateur. If you’re not a veteran don’t contact me. If you want to defend this as a veteran (and you know we will check), I will do so in any forum you like as often as you like and I will ask nor offer quarter.

To all you trolls out there, consider this before taking my challenge:

President Obama wants to charge combat wounded veterans for care to save $500 million while simultaneously GRANTING $900 million to terrorist in Palestine to recover from the beat down that they sorely deserved.

I know whose side I am on, do you?

To General Shinseki I say RESIGN NOW. This is the only possible way to preserve your integrity as a soldier’s soldier. To do anything less is to slap the face of every wounded warrior and leave yourself as nothing more than a liar and pathetic political hack.

I don’t call for you resignation because of any malfeasance that you did but as a principled position against this atrocity and solidarity with the soldiers that you once commanded.

The Obama Administration disclosed on Friday that it will no longer claim the power to detain terrorism suspects under the label “enemy combatant,” even while claiming broad authority to detain those who are a part of terrorist networks or who supplied “substantial support” to such forces. The authority, it said, extends to places other than battlefields if Afghanistan, but did not say where else detainees might be seized. . . . Here is the definition of detention authority, without the label “enemy combatant,” that the Obama Administration outlined Friday: “The President has the authority to detain persons that the President determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, and persons who harbored those responsible for those attacks. The President also has the authority to detain persons who were part of, or substantially supported, Taliban or al-Qaida forces or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act, or has directly supported hostilities, in aid of such enemy armed forces.”

Do you dumb ass lefties see the difference between the Obama and Bush detainee policies? No? That’s because there isn’t one.

An Oakland man who was among the tree-sitters who fought to save a grove of oaks and redwoods next to UC Berkeley’s Memorial Stadium was critically wounded in the West Bank today by an Israeli-fired tear-gas canister, officials and acquaintances said.

Tristan Anderson, 38, was injured during a protest over the separation barrier that Israel erected between it and the West Bank. An Israeli soldier fired the canister during a clash with protesters and hit Anderson in the head, said Ulrika Jenson of Sweden, an activist with the International Solidarity Movement.

Did you catch the critical piece of his description? This free-thinking moron is 38 years old! I don’t mind hippie idiots when they are 19 or 20 but being this idiotic at 38 years old!

My God, when I was 38 I was a field grade officer with 21 years active service. I had long since passed being a dumbass and was a solid, productive citizen.

Anderson underwent brain surgery at Tel Hashomer hospital in Tel Aviv and was in the intensive care unit, Woody Berch, who works in civil-rights law in Israel, said after visiting the hospital.

Orly Levi, a hospital spokeswoman, told the Associated Press that Anderson’s condition was “life-threatening.”

Anderson’s girlfriend Gabrielle Silverman, 25, was keeping a vigil at the hospital, group members said.
Anderson and Silverman were among those arrested during the 21-month-long tree-sitting protest at UC Berkeley over the university’s plan to cut down a grove to build an athletic training center. The standoff ended in September and the university cut down the trees.

The couple went to Israel because they are “concerned about human-rights violations,” Larudee said. “They are involved in defending human rights in many different places. They just felt compelled to do that in Palestine.”

Will young Gabrielle learn from her boyfriend’s idiocy? Not likely.

See, Ms. Silverman was also a Berkley “tree sitter” and apparently as radically stupid as Tristan.

Gabrielle Silverman (“my treesitter name is millipede”) sat in court for Monday morning’s hearing. She was the first treesitter forcibly extracted from the branches last Tuesday.

“I’m very disappointed in the judge,” she said.

Asked what she planned to do next, the treesitter answered, “What do we do now? We keep giving them hell.”

Well Gabrielle hopefully your eyes have been opened to what ultimately happens to the radical leftists that you seem attracted to.

Here’s another lunatic conspiracy charge from the famed buffoon Seymour Hersh.

Investigative reporter Seymour Hersh dropped a bombshell on Tuesday when he told an audience at the University of Minnesota that the military was running an “executive assassination ring” throughout the Bush years which reported directly to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

If Dick had an assassination ring why was he shooting lawyers in the face with birdshot? (Other than that he was a lawyer and probably needed shooting)

So, tell us more Mr. Hersh. Who are these assassins?

Hersh replied, “After 9/11, I haven’t written about this yet, but the Central Intelligence Agency was very deeply involved in domestic activities against people they thought to be enemies of the state. Without any legal authority for it. They haven’t been called on it yet.”

Hersh then went on to describe a second area of extra-legal operations: the Joint Special Operations Command. “It is a special wing of our special operations community that is set up independently,” he explained. “They do not report to anybody, except in the Bush-Cheney days, they reported directly to the Cheney office. … Congress has no oversight of it.”

Wow, I bet that would be news to LTG Stan McChrystal who commanded this assassin cabal for most of the Bush-Cheney years!

First Seymour, JSOC is not an independent Cheney kill squad. They are subordinate to Special Operations Command and they get more Congressional oversight than they want or need.

Of course Hersh isn’t the first “journalist” who got their panties in a wad over JSOC. In a June 2006 Newsweek article JSOC was described thusly:

Stanley McChrystal, West Point ’76, is not someone the Army likes to talk about. He isn’t even listed in the directory at Fort Bragg, N.C., his home base. Of course Hersh wasn’t about to stop at simple hyperbole like “slit-their-throats “black ops” guys”. Oh no, he had to go full “black helicopter” conspiracy on us.

“It’s an executive assassination ring essentially, and it’s been going on and on and on,” Hersh stated. “Under President Bush’s authority, they’ve been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving. That’s been going on, in the name of all of us.”

That’s pretty scary shit there Seymour … but it does beg a simple question.

If Bush and Cheney had total control of “an executive assassination ring”; why didn’t they ventilate you and dozens of other “journalist” pains in their collective ass a long time ago?
