Naturally, as all of you know, I am a very caring, kinder-gentler, sort of guy.

The NAACP has decided to demand that NASCAR ban all displays of the Confederate battle flag at the upcoming race in Homestead, Florida.

And exactly how do they plan to coerce NASCAR into trampling the free speech rights of thousands of people?

Well, a shakedown of course.

If the civil rights organization does not get the racing league’s cooperation and support, officials there said they are prepared to begin contacting NASCAR’s sponsors, and to stage protests during the races.

Even the ACLU is supporting NASCAR in this made-up controversy. And who is at the source of this race-baiting, inciting a riot movement? Why a community organizer of course.

“We intend to notify NASCAR about the troubling racial discord we have here in Homestead, and we would like their support,” said Rosemary Fuller, a longtime member of the Miami-Dade NAACP who chaired an advisory board that the city council disbanded after board members challenged the Confederate Flag.

Clue one: If you are too radical for the Miami City Council; you are a certified loon!

Now the money quote:

“Right now, we are still in the planning stages,” Fuller said, “but if NASCAR decides to come here under these conditions, we will meet them at the racetrack.”

What could possibly go wrong?

Have you ever been to a NASCAR event? I have.

Even though I grew up in the Deep South and spent a large portion of my career in the south I admit that I was never much of a NASCAR fan. C’mon folks, I know many of you probably enjoy it but 3 hours of left turns waiting for a colossal, life threatening accident that routinely fails to deliver isn’t my cup of joe.

I am reminded of a summer afternoon at my grandparents when I was about 12 years old. I was sitting on the back porch with my grandmother. She was shelling peas and I was (bored out of my mind) watching chickens peck about the ground. I don’t recall if they were circling to the left or not but it wasn’t too exciting.

But that changed quickly. My grandparent’s dog Jack alerted but not in time to stop a fox from pouncing one of the chickens. Before the feathers had a chance to hit the ground Jack was on that fox faster than he would have hit a plate full of pork chops.

Now this was entertainment!

Of course the 40 pound fox soon realized the folly of fighting a 100 pound German Shepherd and managed an escape (though bloodied) into the cane field. I remember being very proud of that dog. My grandmother put a bandage on his leg and then Jack and I (armed with one those cheap kool aid popsicles) walked down to the pond and skipped rocks for a while.

Why is this recollection relevant?

Because NASCAR fans want excitement. I’d say that fans of any sport want excitement.

What happens if Rosemary and her crowd decide to take down one of those flags (privately owned property that is legally displayed by the way)?

Of course this is exactly what Rosemary wants. It would make the news and her cred in the race-baiting community will only grow.

One can only hope that there is a cane field nearby.

If someone wanted to see the tea parties get really out of control just try to pass this.

At a White House conference earlier this year on the government’s budget problems, a roomful of tax experts pleaded with Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner to consider a VAT… last month, after wrestling with the White House over the massive deficits projected under Obama’s policies, the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee declared that a VAT should be part of the debate.

“There is a growing awareness of the need for fundamental tax reform,” Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) said in an interview. “I think a VAT and a high-end income tax have got to be on the table.”

A VAT is a tax on the transfer of goods and services that ultimately is borne by the consumer. Highly visible, it would increase the cost of just about everything, from a carton of eggs to a visit with a lawyer. It is also hugely regressive, falling heavily on the poor. But VAT advocates say those negatives could be offset by using the proceeds to pay for health care for every American — a tangible benefit that would be highly valuable to low-income families…

I suppose this means that 95% of Americans will stop eating. Otherwise his whole changey-hopey campaign was a damn sham and over 50 million dumb asses bought it!

WCBS is reporting that Burris is in fact a POS floating happily in the cesspool that is Chicago.

Sen. Roland Burris was recorded on an FBI wiretap suggesting that he could write a check to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s campaign before the ousted governor appointed Burris to the Senate, reports CBS station WBBM-TV in Chicago.

The details of the conversation emerged after a federal judge said Tuesday he would allow the U.S. Senate Ethics Committee to hear a federal wiretap of former Blagojevich’s brother, Rob, having a fund-raising conversation with Burris.

Sources tell WBBM the wiretapped phone conversation occurred on Nov. 18 while Blagojevich was still governor and before he named Burris to President Barack Obama’s former U.S. Senate seat.

Sources say that on the tape, Burris suggests that he could contribute, or have associates contribute, money to the Blagojevich campaign. Burris also expresses desire to be appointed to the U.S. Senate.

Is anybody with a spoonful of gray matter surprised by this?

In other news Caroline Kennedy was house shopping in Chicago today.

I know all about her “compelling life story”. If you ate one Cheeto for every time you hear that over the next few weeks you will be a certified fat ass in no time. I don’t recall ever hearing the phrase “compelling life story” when Clarence Thomas was being nominated. But what should we be looking for in a Supreme Court Justice?

Female – Check
Far left activist – Check

But instead of focusing on what a particular jurist looks like, why don’t we look closer at judicial philosophy?

Because they are all the same. They are almost always rooted in deep northeastern, Ivy League, liberal ideologies.

Given that she is nominated to replace a far left lunatic, her addition to the court does nothing except help even the balance of power between Harvard and Yale.

I say she should receive 100% Congressional support.

I’ve seen this story all over the blogs today. Here is the original story I think.

To quickly review the situation, I took all dealer owners whose names appeared more than once in the list. And, of those who contributed to political campaigns, every single one had donated almost exclusively to GOP candidates. While this isn’t an exhaustive review, it does have some ominous implications if it can be verified.

However, I also found additional research online at Scribd (author unknown), which also appears to point to a highly partisan decision-making process.

Sure looks damning and if Rahm Emanuel was in on the decision it seems perfectly plausible to me.

But let’s not jump the shark just yet.

Getting a franchise from any of the big three automakers requires a huge of amount of secured liquidity. Getting two or more franchises obviously requires even more. So these are wealthy people who pay taxes and presumably not idiot celebrities.

A car dealership is a small business and I suspect that the GOP does fairly well in that demographic.

My point is that while this info is interesting it is only part of the data needed. The real question becomes how many owners were Obama supporters and what became of their dealerships?

Another question that would be interesting is does anyone in Congress own or have a family interest in a Chrysler dealership?

This doesn’t seem like such a mystery to me.

Frustrated liberals are asking why a Democratic-controlled Congress and White House can’t manage to close the Guantanamo prison or keep new gun-rights laws from passing.

After all, President Barack Obama pledged to shut down the military detention center on Cuba for suspected terrorists. And Democratic control of the government would suggest that any gun legislation leads to tighter controls on weapons, not expanded use.

Even as they grouse, however, liberal lawmakers acknowledge that no one factor explains last week’s disappointing back-to-back votes in Congress.

Let me see if I can clear this question up a bit for my liberal friends.

You elected an ass-clown.

And yet this man who has zero executive, business or military experience has punked you like the salivating cult of mouth breathing bitches that you are.

I know this sucks for you all but fear not; he is still going to do his dead level best to destroy this country.
