  • A Warm Bucket of Dumb-Assery

John Nance Garner IV was the first of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s Vice Presidents. He was an out-spoken old school democrat who disagreed with Roosevelt’s lurch to the far left in particular his fiscal irresponsibility and scheme to pack the Supreme Court with additional judges. The rift grew so bad in fact that Garner actually ran against Roosevelt in the 1940 democrat primary.

Garner went into the Roosevelt administration straight from being Speaker of the House of Representatives and thought he would yield significant influence.

After several disappointments and he realized his influence was greatly diminished and described the Vice Presidency thusly: “not worth a bucket of warm piss.”

I think it has returned to the said state of influence.

    From NBC’s “Meet the Press“:

“No one realized how bad the economy was. The projections, in fact, turned out to be worse. But we took the mainstream model as to what we thought — and everyone else thought — the unemployment rate would be.”

“Everyone guessed wrong at the time the estimate was made about what the state of the economy was at the moment this was passed.”

When is the last time you heard something this amazingly stupid?

Most people have probably never heard of old Cactus Jack Garner. That’s because for many years the VP was little more than an emergency backup with no real duties. That is unless the President died and naturally his duties grew substantially.

That really didn’t change until Reagan came along. He tapped GW Bush who had been an Ambassador to China and head of the CIA and Reagan’s biggest perceived weakness (as with all Governors) was foreign policy. Bush brought too much to the table to waste and soon found himself to be one of the most engaged VP’s in history until that point.

Bush 41 didn’t follow Reagan’s example however by picking a solid conservative but neophyte Dan Quayle. Late night comedians loved him but not anyone else. Clinton picked Al Gore and cemented the position strongly back into the “warm bucket of piss” category.

Bush 43 revived the position in a huge way with Dick Cheney but then Obama picked Joe Biden.

So what did we end up with for the first time?

Now we have a man dumber than “a warm bucket of piss.”

  • Looking a Gift Horse in the Mouth

Mookie I’m-a-dinner-jacket, with the obvious help of his sponsors in the Mullah-ocracy, fooled no one and stole the Iranian election. All the leftist who routinely support despots like this and Castro and Chavez are suddenly concerned.

    Al Jazeera has this report:

The US, Britain and Canada have voiced concern about reports of irrigularities following President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s claim of a landslide re-election victory in Iran.

Thousands of protesters roamed through Tehran on Saturday, waging hit-and-run clashes with police and setting trash bins and tires ablaze and accusing Ahmadinejad of stealing an election from Mir Hossein Mousavi, his reformist rival.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the US secretary of state, said she hoped the outcome reflected the “genuine will and desire” of Iranian voters, responding to claims by supporters of Mousavi that allege that the outcome was rigged to give Ahmadinejad a decisive victory.

“We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds in Iran, but we, like the rest of the world, are waiting and watching to see what the Iranian people decide.” Clinton told reporters in Ontario, Canada.

The White House also released a two-sentence statement praising “the vigorous debate and enthusiasm that this election generated, particularly among young Iranians,” but also expressing concern over “reports of irregularities.”

Lawrence Cannon, Canada’s foreign affairs minister, said his country was also “deeply concerned” by reports of irregularities in the election.

Some are even suggesting that the US get involved in some way to support the “uprising”.

While this bunch of mouth-breathing retards gasp about the remote possibility that the Mullahs would steal an election, I think it’s time we all took a big swig from the little brown jug of reality.

Ahmadinejad’s victory was a very GOOD THING!

These young people in Tehran who are in the streets getting their collective asses kicked by the police are only making Ahmadinejad stronger. They are not crying for regime change or a free Iraq, they are doing little more than demonstrating a mass retardation that is laughable on its face.

Supposedly they are all animated because the election was stolen from “reformist” candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi Khameneh. Before anybody starts calling for American intervention in some way to support this gaggle, it would be instructive to ask; If Mousavi was President and the streets exploded with politically raged protests, what would he do?

    Probably kill them…kill them all.

Remember that Mousavi was the last Prime Minister of Iran before the constitution was changed creating a Presidency. During his reign he shut down all universities and executed thousands in the months after the revolution. It was on his watch that over thirty thousand people were executed and dumped in mass graves in 1988. It was also under his leadership that the Iranian nuclear program was born.

Ahmadinejad’s “victory” is actually seen as a good thing in Israel. The reason for this is fairly simple and also an indictment on the pathetically weakened position President Obama has put the United States in.

In short Ahmadinejad is a frigging lunatic and a very easy man for the world to hate. His constant unhinged raving makes it difficult even for Obama to deal with him. Mousavi on the other hand is a soft-spoken academic and self described “reformist”. Despite his Stalin-like history of dealing with “reformers”, he is a hard left socialist and the western media can’t seem to get enough of that.

Most Israelis also believe that a Mousavi victory would have been disastrous for another reason; in a word Obama.

Had Mousavi won, the White House would be in full spin mode already taking credit for the “reformist” victory for change and chants of “yes we can” would be sweeping the country. Obama and the American media would credit his videotaped message to the Iranian people and of course his recent speech from Cairo.

Mousavi would announce a couple of sweeping “reforms “ like allowing girls to wear lipstick and allow some young men to start taking flower arranging classes instead of hanging them from construction cranes.

Obama would declare “peace in our time”, fight to lift Iranian sanctions and choke support for Israel.

Oh yeah and a guaranteed nuclear war within 12 months!

  • How to Un-Win a War

This quote should be on EVERY Republican ad running for congress next year!

This man is beyond a naïve affirmative action President; he is dangerous.

If Tenet is right, it’s a good thing KSM was captured before Barack Obama became president. For, the Obama Justice Department has quietly ordered FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high value detainees captured and held at U.S. detention facilities in Afghanistan, according a senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee. “The administration has decided to change the focus to law enforcement. Here’s the problem. You have foreign fighters who are targeting US troops today – foreign fighters who go to another country to kill Americans. We capture them…and they’re reading them their rights – Mirandizing these foreign fighters,” says Representative Mike Rogers, who recently met with military, intelligence and law enforcement officials on a fact-finding trip to Afghanistan.

Rogers, a former FBI special agent and U.S. Army officer, says the Obama administration has not briefed Congress on the new policy. “I was a little surprised to find it taking place when I showed up because we hadn’t been briefed on it, I didn’t know about it. We’re still trying to get to the bottom of it, but it is clearly a part of this new global justice initiative.”

This is beyond asinine. The fact that the Obama administration is doing this under the radar proves that he knows it’s idiotic but he’s doing it anyway.

Why is he doing it? Who knows?

But I know this, men will die because of it.

Of course Obama doesn’t care. In fact, I believe that more dead soldiers is what he wants. The more dead GI’s the better his case for surrendering and giving the Jihadis exactly what they want.

Any lefties (who actually served) want to defend this? Haven’t heard from Wheeler lately. What say you Richard? Did you ever read Miranda rights while you were in Vietnam?

Caution: If you try to defend this, I know you never saw anything close to real combat.

  • TAH Responsible for 6.3 Million Jobs “Saved or Created”!

The three amigos he here at This Ain’t Hell who proudly throw red meat to you great patriots on a daily basis are proud to announce that we have collectively saved or created approximately 6.3 million jobs.

I’m not going to use anything from the Bureau of Labor Statistics because they are not smart enough to figure out how to measure a “saved” job. Instead we are using the new “Obama-Math”.

    Follow the logic with me.

I have had a direct affinity with the US Army in either an active duty or engaged retiree status for 30 years. I think Jonn is cruising around 35 years and TSO (the youthful curmudgeon in this gang) is pulling a little over five years. But for rounding purposes (Obama Math encourages that) we can claim 70 years of direct relationship to the US Army.

During that 70 years our collective message has consistently been a positive message of service. We have done everything possible supporting the military. We have all been awarded the coveted Combat Infantry Badge. It’s the only badge that matters. If you have one, you know it; if you don’t, you REALLY know it.

With an average of 90,000 recruits per year over the last 30 years and our personal positive message we have indeed “created or saved” over 6 million jobs.

I challenge anyone on the Obama economic team to challenge my numbers.

  • Why should this take more than 30 Seconds?

Apparently the Commandant of the Marine Corps is wrestling with a heavy decision.

U.S. Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Conway is deciding what to do with the dereliction of duty case against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani, the Camp Pendleton officer accused of failing to order a full-scale investigation into the slayings of two dozen Iraqi civilians in the city of Haditha in 2005.

Conway got the case in late May, after the Marine Corps gave up its appeal of a military judge’s ruling that unlawful command influence illegally tainted the case against Chessani.

The Marine Corps appealed that ruling on two occasions and was considering a third appeal before deciding to let Conway determine the next move in the Chessani saga.

“He (Conway) will consider the matter carefully,” Maj. David Nevers at the Marine Corps’ Pentagon headquarters said, adding there no was firm date for when Conway would announce his decision.

Conway’s options include dropping the case entirely or appointing a new convening authority to consider whether a new investigation should be ordered. He also can pursue a non-criminal administrative action against Chessani, who commanded the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, at Haditha when the civilians were slain by Marines after a roadside bombing.

So what the hell is the problem there Jimmy-Boy?

Anything short of dropping the case entirely will expose you as a slimy politician who cares more about covering Pete Pace’s ass than you care about saving a Marine officer’s life.

  • What is More Important to President Obama?

What is more important? A ruthless practitioner of infanticide who was nonetheless tragically murdered by a crazed lunatic or a totally innocent soldier who was gunned down at a recruiting station?

Doctor Tiller was killed at approximately 10:00 a.m. About eight hours later the White House jumped in to protect baby killers:

I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.

So far the White House hasn’t said a damn word about the brutal killing of a totally innocent soldier.

What did the government do after the abortionist was killed? They acted, swiftly.

Roeder was arrested near Gardner, KS after fleeing the area, and was returned to Wichita for questioning. It is believed he acted alone, although federal marshalls are stepping up security at abortion clinics as a precaution.

So what has the White House or the Federal Marshalls so far said or did to protect innocent soldiers?

    NOT A DAMN THING!

    UPDATE:

Hastings identified the man in custody as Carlos Bledsoe, 24, of Little Rock, who was going by the name of Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad.

Mystery solved. There will be no White House statement or Federal Marshall intervention just as there was none last week when black Muslim converts were busted in NYC trying to kill a bunch of Jews and bring down an aircraft.

Nothing to see here, now move along.

  • Troop Support – DIRECT Troop Support

Somebody out there knows a trooper who needs one of these. My kids are covered but somebody out there probably knows someone packing a 9MM.

I recently sold my H&K USP 40 and a couple of .357’s. I have 2 slightly-used Bore Snake cleaners: .40S&W and a 9MM (9mm is also good on .38 and .357). I’d be happy to donate to a deployed soldier or two. If you’d like to post this on TAH and send the first couple of responses to me, I’ll take care of shipping and the like.

    Thanks,

    Snowman

Just let me know in the comments. Snowman will take it from there.

  • Welcome to America Laia

Jonn is correct that we at This Aint Hell love us some dogs.

So, by the authority that I clearly DO NOT have, I declare this Cute Dog Saturday!

Send the pics to me and try to make them famous!

    Jonn added: Brown Neck Gaitor sends these pictures;

This is Jeb. BNG says “Jeb is named after General J.E.B. Stuart”

Jeb chewing on Quigley’s (his maternal uncle) foot. TSO is scared sh*tless of Quigley.

TSO Added: Although I lost her last Thanksgiving day, my Forrest was always the light of my life. Miss her every day. This is her on my birthday, the coin there is President Bush’s challenge coin that I got earlier that day. Forrest seemed unimpressed, but she still gave me wonderful kisses. I hope she’s chasing rabbits in the sky right now.

Jonn Added: My last buddy, Sam (with his girlfriend, Maple, who never let him out of her sight). I know that I’ll never find as good a friend again, so I stopped looking.
