Alcohol related incident?
Taylorsville family fight ends with gunshot wound
By Spencer Burt, KSL

TAYLORSVILLE — Two brothers got into a fight Wednesday night that ended with a gunshot wound, but no critical injuries, police say.

The altercation began just before 9:30 p.m. in the 800 West block of Mount Tuscarora Drive in Taylorsville. One of the men retrieved a handgun during the fight and shot the other once in the lower back area, said Unified Police Lt. Ken Malone.

Police are still investigating, but Malone said the shot may have been fired in self-defense.

The wounded man was taken to the hospital in fair condition and was expected to survive.

  1. That Taylorsville shooting is going to leave a strain on future family gatherings.

  2. “…..held at gunpoint by his vehicle by two men.”

Maybe……held at gunpoint against his vehicle by two men.

That sound about right? It’s 4:45am local, and it took several attempts to type this in correctly.

    1. Sister Mary Grace asks ‘Whatever happened to clarity?’

The victim told police he was held at gunpoint by his vehicle by two men.

Well, did his vehicle hold him at gunpoint, or was it the two men?

Don’t be too hard on Sister Mary Grace. She had to put up with children who think ‘my country ’tis of thee’ is pronounced ‘my country tisabee’. Therefor, she is going on a retreat that involves poker, whiskey and possibly smelly cigars.

      1. Waving, Waving!! See my hand in the air?

I volunteer to be Sister Grace’s “Plus 1″/Party Bus Limo Driver to the retreat that involves poker, whiskey and possibly smelly cigars.

      2. Reminds me of an old post-apocalyptic sci-fi tale wherein the hero eventually finds that the old mythic country of Tisathee is… yep, you’re right.

    1. Surprisingly, the would be recipient of a gunshot is often able to turn aside or away before the shooter pulls the trigger.

I have seen this demonstrated convincingly in several Simmunitions activities, where even experienced folks get “flinchy” after repeated hits of those little MF-ers.

The recipient, if he has time to see it coming, may move energetically. The guy who gets hit, and doesn’t go DRT, will likely move. Lots.

  3. The Whiz Wheel™® spins up a score (34) on Deontae Dobson (WOT) that barely raises the peg on the Give-A-Shit Meter.

    1. Crack whooore mother+ malt liquor in all trimesters+ illiteracy ÷ (X= number of possible baby daddies)= Deontae Dobson

  4. I just got out of bed and you already are trying to confuse me. Cars with their own guns holding up people and magic bullets, you shoot them facing people and it circles around and hits in the back, what next. No officer I don’t know where that money in the car came from, it must have robbed a bank and came back, or honest officer I shot my brother with one of those new boomerang bullets. Wait now I know Alfred Hitchcock is still alive and is a reporter.

  5. Apparently my father’s side of the family is connected to Taylorsville and moved west after my grandfather was murdered.

I apparently still have distant relatives there..

    Maybe these two were kin.

    1. When I was kid my dad showed me how to catch a Pidgeon. Upside down cardboard box held up by a stick attached to a long string.
      A breadcrumb for bait.

Same Pidgeon fell for it every time.

  6. AW1Ed are you ok as I realize that probably your ribs hurt (most likely read it 3 times and laughed at the wording and future comments so hard you had tears in your eyes) and your fingers are sore (laughing and tears in eyes make it hard to type and lots of typo’s caused many rewrites) just hope you didn’t fall out of your chair.

    1. I can neither confirm nor deny any of that, DS. However, FGS is a niche topic, and I can only post what I find.
That being said, a gem like this just begs to be posted.
      *grin*

  7. Does anyone know here know a woman’s anatomy very well?

What part of a woman is her “fracas” and her “yet”?

The reason I ask, is a news article I read this morning said: “….a woman was shot in the fracas and the bullet was still in her yet.”

(runs, grabbing coffee and ducks for cover) 😉

    1. “fracas” is used as a noun to denote the place on a woman’s anatomy where the “fracas” used as a verb usually occurs.

The fact that sometimes the fracas lasts all night leads to the use of “her yet” to denote the identical location.

::running to join Sky in his cover – he has coffee!::

          1. Guess I’ll pass this time, drink my own coffee and maybe dig around and find some doughnuts. That reminds me, do you know there is an ongoing war here, Medical people want me to eat less and more cautiously whereas them non medical females keep cooking good food and keep on filling my plate, I know which side I’m on, pass me another piece of pie and whipped cream please.

    1. Just in case you needed to know, Chief:

What does the name “Deontae” mean: (smile)

You are strong in material matters, determined and stubborn. You have good business ability. You are a good worker, steady and practical, a builder who takes responsibility well. These qualities may bring you a position of authority and power. You are a doer, down-to-earth, serious-minded, reliable, and self-disciplined; have good power of concentration. You have an eventful, exciting life. You are versatile and have the ability to learn easily.
You are always looking for a chance to do your own thing, to be your own person, and to have things done your own way.

      1. Hmmm, interesting.

And here all this time I thought Deontae was a mispronunciation of Dindonuffin.
