Chief Tango sends us a story from New Orleans, Louisiana;
The victim, a 39-year-old woman, told detectives that she was getting into her vehicle when she was approached by two masked men.
The men took out handguns and yelled at the victim to get on the ground, police said, but as one of the men tried to take the victim’s purse, she tried to back away.
The other man then grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her to the ground, and the first man picked up the purse.
The two robbers then took off running, with the victim’s son in pursuit, police said. The robbers reached a backyard in the 3700 block of Virgil Boulevard, where they reportedly fired shots at the victim’s son.
The son, who was not injured, told police he returned fire and “possibly” struck one of the robbers, according to police.
Another one from Chief Tango. This one happened in Bridgeton, North Carolina;
Police responded at about 6:18 a.m. after an intruder broke into a home on Purifoy Street armed with a handgun and demanded money.
The homeowner gave the intruder the money he had on him and a fight began, during which the homeowner got ahold of the handgun and shot at the intruder, police said.
The intruder ran away before police arrived, and officers said they don’t know whether or not the intruder was hit.
The homeowner suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The story has been updated;
Jimmy Dunn Jr. is accused of robbing a Craven County homeowner. Police say Dunn forced his way into the victim’s home on Purifoy Street and demanded money.
Authorities say Dunn and the homeowner got into a scuffle, and eventually the homeowner ended up getting the suspect’s gun and firing several shots at Dunn.
Dunn left the scene, but suffered several gunshot wounds. He was treated at CarolinaEast Medical Center and released.
Dunn was booked into the Craven County Jail on a $1,000,000 secured bond.
From Tupelo, Mississippi;
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said deputies were called to a Highway 6 residence south of Plantersville around 4:45 p.m. where a male came home and confronted his mother and stepfather.
“He had a baseball bat in his hand and assaulted both of them,” Johnson said. “At one point, the stepfather was able to get a .45-caliber handgun and shoot the suspect. He was carried to the North Mississippi Medical Center in bad condition.”
The man who was shot, whose name has not been released, was also identified as the suspect in a pair of home burglaries in the Palmetto community Friday morning.

Shot with a .45 caliber handgun and “in bad condition” usually go together.
Shot several times and treated and released usually doesn’t.
“Jimmy Dunn Jr”
Jimmy done fucked up.
@ 26L. I thought that I had first dibs on the corny yokes and puns.
Subject: Why Grandpa carries a gun
Why Carry a Gun?
My old grandpa said to me ‘Son, there comes a time in every man’s life
when he stops bustin’ knuckles and starts bustin’ caps and usually
it’s when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin.’
I don’t carry a gun to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don’t carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes
this world can be a scary place.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m paranoid. I carry a gun because there
are real threats in the world.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m evil. I carry a gun because I have
lived long enough to see the evil in the world.
I don’t carry a gun because I hate the government. I carry a gun
because I understand the limitations of government.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m angry. I carry a gun so that I don’t
have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be
prepared.
I don’t carry a gun because I want to shoot someone. I carry a gun
because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a
sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don’t carry a gun because I’m a cowboy. I carry a gun because, when
I die and go to heaven, I want to be a cowboy.
I don’t carry a gun to make me feel like a man. I carry a gun because
men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don’t carry a gun because I feel inadequate. I carry a gun because
unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don’t carry a gun because I love it. I carry a gun because I love
life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect
themselves. Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just
investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to
clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I’m too young to die and too old to
take an ass whoopin’…..author unknown (but obviously brilliant)
