A homeowner in Albuquerque, New Mexico found two armed intruders in is house, so he made one of them DRT (dead right there).Police are still looking for the one who got away.
Jon the Mechanic sends one from San Antonio, Texas. You should click over and read it rather than have me sort it out for you.

I love a good Monday happy story.
1 of 2 intruders shot and killed as they tried, unsuccessfully to deprive good people of what is theirs. A robbery getaway was stopped with one of 2 robbers shot, the other arrested, thanks to a legally armed citizen.
Years ago, my wife, my (then) baby girl, and I were shopping at a mall in Jacksonville,FL. We were in the Eddie Bauer store when a woman ran in and breathlessly announced “They’re robbing the Reeds Jewelers across the hall”. My wife looked at me, and grabbed the baby, headed for the back of EB, and I went out into the mall to see if I could do anything.(I had a CCW and was armed). I took cover behind an ATM kiosk in the middle of the mall, and could see two large guys behind the counter at Reeds. One had the male store manager jacked up against the wall with his forearm across the managers neck, and the other one was scooping jewelry into, what looked like, a small cooler. I didn’t see any weapons, and no one was being injured… so I stayed where I was, and watched them as they finished and ran past me, and then I followed them to try and see what kind of a car they were driving.
I never drew my weapon. My thoughts were that, if someone was about to get hurt, or one of the robbers threatened someone with a weapon, I would be able to take action… but I wasn’t going to START a gunfight in a crowded mall if I could help it. I told the police what had happened, and the detective interviewing me said that he thought I’d made the right choice. Some months later, the perps were captured and convicted of this, and several other robberies. It was a professional crew, going up and down I95 hitting mall jewelry stores.
I don’t know what happened to start the shooting in Texas, but I’m glad it didn’t happen in Jacksonville that day.
Bubblehead: Smart move, not engaging in gunfire in that environment. I’ve never had to pull my weapon and pray I never have to. Knowing when not to pull is as important as knowing when to pull.
From what I read the good Samaritan who was killed tried to physically stop one of the robbers and they pulled a gun on him.
After that, the bad guys just started shooting anyone so they could get away.
Hope they get to ride the lighting for this.
I thought it was one of the bad guys who was killed, at least from the report I read yesterday.
Sounds like you kept your head on straight, BR.
The radio newscaster was reporting this morning that the deceased good Samaritan was a former Marine.

Investigators say two men attempted to rob a Kay Jewelers store in the mall, which is located northeast of downtown San Antonio. As the suspects tried to get away, they ran into two bystanders.
McManus said one of the men who tried to intervene was shot and killed. The other Good Samaritan, who had a concealed carry permit, shot one of the suspects.
Investigators identified the man who died as 42-year-old retired Marine Jonathan Murphy, Fox 29 reported. He and his wife were at the jewelry store getting their wedding rings cleaned, according to his stepdaughter’s boyfriend, who set up a GoFundMe page for the Murphy family.
“Jon loved Harleys, the Marine Corps, and being a good man, but over everything else I believe he loved his wife and family,” Chris Cercone wrote.

You knew it had to be a former service member, no one else would risk their life like that, you knew it wouldn’t have been a Hitlery supporter! Semper Fi Good Marine!
The hilda-bitch supporters were the robbers.
