Saturday morning feel good stories

In Bremer County, Iowa, John Eimers shot and killed intruder Steven Anthony, 46. Eimers was wounded several times by Anthony but still managed to keep up a rate of fire that left Anthony DRT (dead right there). EImers has been released from the hospital after being treated for his wounds.

A family in Pleasant Grove, Texas fought back against home invaders, injuring at least one. Police are looking in local hospitals for gun shot wounded suspects.

A woman in Evansville, Indiana scared off burglars with a warning shot.

In Miramar, Florida, Rasheed Smith, 34, tried to escape from police by jumping into a nearby canal. They pulled his drowned body from the water a few hours later.

In Charleston, South Carolina, a store clerk was able to return fire with his own gun after being shot by a criminal in his thigh. It’s not known if the clerk hit his target.

  1. Even while being wounded several times, a homeowner was able to return fire and kill the intruder. People, these criminals are armed, why aren’t you? They will KILL you , or your family, or your neighbors, while depriving you of your possessions Legally armed people are the only answer to the bad people who are armed.

  2. And the article notes it was a “tragic” end for poor ole Rasheed…”tragic” sure gets overused…in this case “fitting” better applies

  3. All these home invasions with the homeowners shooting back means that people know the police are only an hour away investigating a drive-by shooting on the Dan Ryan.

It’s almost like the Wild Old West got a reboot, isn’t it?

  4. Prayers for the Charleston SC clerk. That’s got to hurt big time, shot in the thigh. That could have too too easily been fatal. Can’t fault him on this one if he missed his target.
