We have a tendency here to complain about the Hollywood types who don’t like America, so here’s a little different story about Taylor Swift. She’s a good kid and she doesn’t deserve a lot of the negative things folks say about her, in my opinion. She does like her fans. Here’s an example – she made an appearance at the home on Christmas of 96-year-old World War II veteran Cyrus Porter who Fox News calls her oldest fan;

Porter told local news outlet Ozarks First that Swift’s music helps him to connect with his nearly two dozen grandchildren. He has seen her perform in concert two times.

“I just enjoyed going to see ’em and her,” he told the news outlet. “I would as soon go see her right now as anybody!”

The 96-year-old hopes to be able to see Swift perform live one more time.

“I just liked the way the way she did stuff,” he shared.

Porter’s grandchildren shared pictures of Swift’s visit on social media. One called it a “Christmas miracle.”

I know Taylor Swift stands out among many of the so-called stars because of her support of the troops as well as support of her fans, in general. I don’t have a cross word for her.

                And yeah, I, along with every other male on this blog (well, maybe except for one “member”) would…hit…that…twice!

              1. So hard to keep up with what women want these days. One day its Brad Pitt, the next its Matt Lauer, the next they want Chris Pratt.

                I told my last girlfriend about how I’d give in if Jessica Alba and Jennifer Love Hewitt wanted to threesome me. She got offended that I’d cheat on her. Like, seriously? Hell yeah I would with those two.

  2. I didn’t care for her earlier music, which I considered rather whiny. Her more recent stuff has grown on me, though.

    That being said, Taylor Swift has always impressed me on a personal level, even when I wasn’t big on her musical output. She’s a cool chick.

  8. Taylor Swift’s music is one of my guilty pleasures. I don’t know if it’s her voice or what, but I enjoy listening to her sing (even her early country stuff). She’s also one of the new breed of stars that I have much respect for. The kind that actually loves her fans as much as they love her.

    1. I’m in for Alison Krauss (voice of an Angel) and Rhonda Vincent. But then, I’m a Bluegrass guy. But they are both hotties.

      1. Oh yes…Allison Krauss has a beautiful voice! First time I heard it was she and Union Station performed “When You Say Nothing At All” – moved my soul like no other woman could.

          Dad was a fan, and I came along a couple years after she passed, but I have loved her voice for most of my life.

      1. And I went to A school with a guy who swore on a stack of bibles that he had a date with Stevie Nicks. Of course, we didn’t believe him, but he still insisted.

        He did say that it was a disaster. Just didn’t hit it off. So, that lent a LITTLE truth to the story. At least he didn’t start the story with: “True story. No shit!”

        1. Talking about dating oneself, I had a buddy at Ft. Bragg who claimed he screwed Betty Grable in Las Vegas back in the early 60’s. Said she was drunk, picked him up in a casino bar, took him up to her room and screwed his young eyeballs out. She was in her late forties or early fifties then but he said she still had it all put together real nicely.

      1. My first celebrity crush was Debbie Harry. Also Elizabeth Montgomery, Lynda Carter, Pamela Sue Martin (Nancy Drew), Melissa Gilbert, Yvonne Craig, Barbara Feldon, Catherine Bach, Lindsay Wagner. I watched a lot of TV in the 70s & early 80s.

      1. A classic beauty, ditto Dawn Wells and Tina Louise. But for what ever reason it’s the above women who floated my boat back then.
