TSO sends us a link from the Military Times which reports that Mandy Lea Whipple was sentenced for stealing the identification of a former employer which she used to get a VA home loan. The discrepancy was discovered when she was delinquent on the payments.
In addition to 18 months in a Federal prison, she has to “make restitution of nearly $42,000 to the VA, nearly $29,000 to a mortgage company and nearly $6,000 to another lender.”

The investigation was conducted by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont County Attorney’s Office, Department of Veteran Affairs Office of Inspector General and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
No harm in stolen valor, huh? Sure. No harm at all.
