In Salem, Oregon, Anthony Tony Brown, 20, and a 17-year-old were burglarizing a home when they were confronted by the homeowner who shot Brown who was DRT (dead right there). His unnamed accomplice was arrested.
A clerk in a gun shop in Raleigh, North Carolina, noticed a couple of fellows headed for his front door wearing masks. The clerk and a customer tried to lock the doors before they could enter, but they forced their way inside. The clerk fired a gun at them and they scurried off. Police are unsure if either was hit by gun fire.
Two teens, 17 and 13 years old, in Birmingham, Alabama, tried to burglarize a home. When the homeowner, a pregnant woman, awoke from the noise, she shot at them with her handgun, striking the older teen. She called the police and they took the injured youth to the hospital. It appears that the injured teen is paralyzed. The younger teen left the scene when gunfire became part of the story, but his mother brought him to the police station.
Well, three good news stories to start the day does make the world a better place.
And I have one extra, although it does not involve criminal behavior. It’s simply about bathroom rights.

Per the Supreme, Gavin (still a girl) will not get to use the boys’ bathroom.
1. One dead, one arrested – good start of the day.
2. Two persuaded to go away – they will be in someone’s sights in the near future, I am sure.
3. One can no longer move – fuck’em. One mother finally started to act like a mother.

Kudos to that mother.
13-year-old gets led into mischief by a 17-year-old, she makes sure he faces the music.
Hopefully, he’ll also realize that, but for the grace of God, it would be him, not his 17-year-old buddy, looking at a lifetime in a wheelchair.
Seems like you would really have to be a special kind of stupid to try to rob a gun store in North Carolina.
I mean, no one ever said that criminals are smart, but that just seems unusually stupid.

Was once a gun store in East Topeka which a group of 4 tried to knock off – the story goes that as they were exiting, the last two turned around to head for the door – supposedly the owner used the opportunity to pick up a 6″ M29 he had – two head shots in the store, one through the glass of the door to get rid of the glass, two head shots immediately outside. As of when I left the area years later, no repeat attempts

The one downside to the Alabama story is that now the paralyzed teen will be supported by yours and mine taxpayer dollars for the rest of his life. Damn!
Likely to be somewhat shorter than the average. Ballistic paralysis tends to have deleterious effects beyond the mere spinal damage.
