Thursday morning feel good stories

Tom sends us a link to a story that happened in Detroit, Michigan where two thieves tried to break into the home of an armed 77-year-old retired police officer. There is no word on their condition.

Hack Stone sends us a link to a story from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where two younger thugs were beating on a 65-year-old man until he got tired of it and pulled out his legal and licensed .45 caliber handgun and put an end to the discussion. Again, there is no word on their condition and the elderly gentleman was treated for his injuries.

In Memphis, Tennessee, two men sitting in a car were attacked by three men who tried to rob them. The pair in the car returned fire after one of them was struck by gunfire. One of the trio was struck in the chest and he was DOT (dead over there) at the hospital.

A security guard at Union Station in Washington, DC won’t be charged after he shot and killed a knife-wielding thug last year. The thug had stabbed a woman then turned toward the security guard who convinced him that he shouldn’t have done that.

  1. For six months DC police/prosecutors kept the security guard wondering whether he was screwed when he shot a killer whose knife was still dripping blood from the victim. The prosecutor’s official statement reads to me as if to say, ‘We’re sorry, but we tried every angle we could to nail the security guard but the standard of proof is just way too high for a charge to stick.’

    1. Sounds as if the prosecutor is the one who needed to be stabbed in the initial attack.
