There’s a brief story from Durham, North Carolina about a fellow invading a home and becoming DRT (dead right there) as a result of an armed resident. The resident was slightly injured according to the article.
In Houston, Texas, a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment to just talk to her, but hearing another man’s voice coming from inside the apartment, he decided that kicking down her door would repair their lost love. The other man inside also spoke in gunfire and shot the old boyfriend four times. Old boyfriend is recovering in the hospital, and new boy friend isn’t being charged. I’m a sucker for these love stories.
In Athens, Ohio, three stoners tried to steal some marijuana plants belonging to another stoner, so the resident fired warning shots near them and held them until the police came, because stoners are too lazy to run anyway.

I’m always happy to read about DRT’s, but I couldn’t help chuckling to myself imagining what it sounded like with one stoner shooting at another, something like “DUDE, that’s MY weed, like, *BANG*, dude, you’re like, bogus for trying to rip me off,*BANG*…”
My question is did the stankass hippie fire warning shots or just miss?

I have to wonder what caliber New Boyfriend was using to do his talking. It did not speak with any authority. Shot four times at close range and no DRT or even DOT. I can only think that Old Boyfriend carries a bad limp forever.
