Our first story has a nice heartwarming message from Sheriff Michael Ray in Texas;
Upon arrival, deputies found Christopher Ray Foster, 37, of Edgewood, was dead. Investigators determined that Foster was in the process of forcing entry into a side door of the home when the homeowner fatally shot him.
“Presently, as the result of underfunding and inadequate staffing at the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, homeowners need to take appropriate precautions to protect their families,” Sheriff Michael Ray said. “I will continue to support the law abiding citizens of our community when they are forced to take actions to protect their lives, liberty and property.”
Foster, who had a lengthy criminal history, and recently was released on bond from the Van Zandt County Jail, after he was accused of failing to comply with registration requirements as a sex offender.
Meanwhile in Alabama;
Richard William Taylor, 42, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting, according to Madison County Coroner Bobby Berryhill. Taylor was shot and killed shortly after 9:30 p.m. Monday at a home in the 100 block of Plainview Drive.
Sgt. Brian Chaffin with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office told AL.com this morning that investigators should have an update on the case later today.
According to AL.com’s news partner, WHNT News 19, the homeowner told deputies Monday night that at least two men broke into his home, at which time he opened fire in self-defense.
A second man reportedly ran from the back of the home and down Deaton Road, but deputies were unable to find him.

Two out of three ain’t bad, that’s two fewer goblins that will have to be fed, clothed, and housed at taxpayers’ expense! The first one was a sex offender, so that’s extra Cool Poimts for the Homeowner! 😀
In the Texas case; I’m glad she dropped his ass, because with his criminal record, to include being a sex offender, burglary might not have been his only motivation, had she not been armed.
