Jesse Ventura's big fucking mouth

Fresh from his triumphant court appearance where he sued a widow for millions of dollars, Jesse Ventura or Jimmy Janos, whichever you prefer, a Navy veteran takes time out of his busy life to feed the Ron Paulians by declaring that he would be a conscientious objector if he had to serve today;

“I hate to say it, but no, I would be a contentious objector today. I don’t believe that the military fights for our freedom,” Ventura said.

Well, good for him. Ya know there are a lot of things that Jimmy “believes” that aren’t true. And he runs through most of them in the video at the link. Of course, the only people who believe Janos are people who would never get off their couches for any reason anyway and Janos just gives them reason to continue their sedentary lifestyle.

He continues that veterans and troops are honorable people, but I’m sure that part of it goes right over the Paulians’ heads.

  2. “I hate to say it, but no, I would be a contentious objector today.” Didn’t he say that hated to sue a widow of a war hero too? He really must hate himself. But knowing what I do of him, I can understand that. If I were he, I’d hate myself too.

    1. Prolonged steroid use really does a number on the braincells. Some users get ‘roid rage and others like Scruff Face here just get stupider.

  5. This is a man who was a “pro” in a “sport” that is actually scripted entertainment and was forced to change its advertising after a court of law made the organization admit it was all fake crap.

    This is a man who has a decidedly different take on honesty than all the rest of us do in our personal lives. His pro career was based on lies scripted for the amusement of the pimply faced teenagers in the crowd.

    It’s not surprising his post “pro” career was telling more lies in that idiotic collection of tall tales he called a show.

    When your entire life’s work is based on a mountain of fabrication, well you arrive at a point where JV is today. An empty, hollowed out husk where there once was a man with potential. Potential that was never fulfilled, potential that was wasted on lies for self aggrandizement.

    The funny part is that I don’t necessarily disagree with him about how the military has been applied over the last 13 years. One would be hard pressed to explain how killing Iraqis has made me freer when the Patriot Act has taken away more civil liberty and infringed on critical elements of the Bill of Right than any legislation prior to 9-11. Apparently the cost of remaining free is the loss of our guarantees of protection from intrusion on our personal liberties. One could argue on that note the terrorists succeeded in forever altering the landscape inside the US by allowing the government the necessary prerequisite to acquire more power over the citizenry. The military has done nothing to prevent that reality.

    But conscientious objector in a totally volunteer force? JV I think you’ve been rewired to be even stupider than you were previously…

        J-E-S-S-E, J-I-M-M-Y, and J-A-N-O-S, also work.
        V-E-N-T-U-R-A might work in a pinch, a little faster, but you have to work at it and be careful of the rhythm.

  8. In my opnion if he were a true CO he would understand the honor in serving but try to find part of that service that heals. Medical is a good choice for COs.

    A true CO recognizes his/her obligation to serve and doesn’t run from that. They simple wish not to kill another. I can respect that. Plenty of MOS’s that don’t do that.

    Not only this but throwing your service around to elevate your newly found CO status does nothing for me…only makes you a hyocrit.

    1. Scripted WWE wrestling? Or an actual fight? ‘Cause I’d be happy to punch his face right out his fat ass.

      1. He doesn’t believe it b/c he doesn’t understand it. And, lately, I am sorry to say that his becoming a popular stance, thanks to those who either don’t have the intellectual capacity to see beyond the superficial or, if they do have that capacity, are too lazy to think through it. A third group, the ugliest of them all, is comprised of those who want to chip away at the view of the American military as guardians of freedom. This group includes myriad college professors and pretenders to the intelligentsia, such as that Charles Manson lookalike in the not-quite-authentic oppressed worker’s blue shirt.

      Is he a sack of shit, yes. But, if I am not mistaken, he completed the training.

      I had an old squad leader and former RI tell me back in the day: “Ranger School is tough. But wearing and upholding that Tab after is a lot harder.”

      This is were this tool failed.

      1. Agreed. I find it telling that people who served at the same time that Janos served as a frogman (UDT) say there was a huge difference then between SEAL and UDT. They also say that at the time the two were different specialties that were NOT considered interchangeable. And that being a SEAL was far more difficult than UDT, and had a much higher chance of actually seeing combat.

        But what would they know? They just lived that life at the time.
