Saturday morning feel good story

Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories today, the first is from Florida;

“It appears there was some type of break-in attempt at the West 23rd address and then they transported themselves to UF Health. All suspects are in custody at this time,” Waldrup said.

JSO said a total of four people were in the car and suspected of being involved in the attempted robbery. Only one of the suspects was shot.

Police said the homeowner shot at the suspects with a rifle, hitting one of the suspects several times.

“No charges have been filed yet. We’re interviewing everyone, but no injuries to the homeowner,” Waldrup said.

The second story comes from Louisiana;

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, the usual crowd of dog owners was gathered in the park, talking as their dogs played, said several witnesses. A man — later identified as 36-year-old Austin L. Diven, a homeless man who sometimes gives an address at local shelters — entered the park and began yelling at people there, berating them and challenging some of the senior citizens there to a fight, said John Fagan, one witness to the incident. Diven was beating on his chest, yelling, and attacking light posts and trash cans, Fagan said.

“He was claiming that it was his square, and they needed to get off of it,” Fagan said.

Diven then left the park and headed to a home across the street, Fagan and others said. He scaled the iron fence, began beating on the door and broke at least one window in an apparent attempt to gain entry, the witnesses said.

A woman came out onto an upper-floor balcony of the house and demanded that Diven leave, the witnesses said. His attempts on the door and windows continued, they said, and the woman produced a shotgun and fired a shot into a nearby tree, they said. Diven finally turned to leave, returning over the fence and back into the park, where he was met by police, witnesses said.

Surrounded, Diven plunged into the fountain, then surrendered to the officers.

        1. She did exactly as VP Biden said to do … go out on the balcony and fire off the shotgun.

          Just shaking my head in amazement.
