Saturday morning feel good story

Chief Tango sends us this morning’s feel good story, this time it’s from Nevada where a burglar was forced to out run a bullet;

The homeowner got home while the burglar was inside, and they struggled over one of the homeowner’s guns, which ended up firing.

Then the homeowner got another one of his guns and shot at the burglar.
Neither shot hit anyone, and the burglar got away.

Two words…Range Time. I know adrenalin runs high in those situations but at close (personal struggle) range with a little target practice two center mass is a minimum. At that range one in the melon is more appropriate.

Homeowner was lucky. More range time and knife lessons, too.

Instinct

Or close quarters training. A lot to be said for a good elbow or knee shot

If you can hit an elbow or knee from any more than halitosis range consistently while under stress and in a fight, you are a better shot than anyone I know. There’s a reason why “Center of Mass” is virtually a cliche.

I’m pretty sure that what Instict meant was that hitting the perp with your elbow or knee is fairly effective in close quarter combat.
