Friday morning feel good story

Chief Tango sends us our fell good story this morning from Denver, this time is a good gal with a gun who defender her home and her family;

Mary Kelso says she and her young son were spending a quiet morning at home when a man knocked on the door.

“He said he knew my husband and asked me for his phone number.”

She didn’t recognize him, so she closed the door to get a pen and paper. That’s when she says he burst through the door with his gun drawn.

“He let himself in … took me to my bedroom at gunpoint.”

But he didn’t know that Mary had a gun, too.

“I have a concealed carry permit and a handgun and I immediately went for that. I grabbed my firearm and we both just aimed at each other but mine was in the case so I couldn’t pull the trigger.”

She says he threw her onto the bed.

“I immediately thought he was going to shoot me and I was trying to figure out how I was going to shoot him — injured — because my son was in the house.”

Mary fought back, kicking him into the dresser.

“I grabbed my gun and reached around to hit him. We struggled with his gun … I ended up pulling the trigger.”

  1. When he threw you on the bed, Mary, he wasn’t going to shoot you, not right away. We all know what he was going to do, first. I tell my daughters to have situational awareness and to never answer the door unarmed (oldest doesn’t believe in guns, so I told her to get a good Louisville Slugger) if they aren’t expecting anyone.

  2. Glad the victum got away, lady sounds like she be one of those vicious thugs that’ll kick yer ass back to Sunday school and make your ancestors feel it, too.
