Tuesday Feel Good Story

Chief Tango sends us today’s feel good story from Fort Wayne in which a homeowner, reportedly a Vietnam veteran, turned another youngster’s life around;

Officers say they found a victim lying outside of the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Police believe the victim attempted to break into the home, but they say the homeowner armed himself and shot and killed him.

The homeowner was not injured in the incident.

  1. The victim?

    Clearly the reporter is a liberal. In a police report the gunman would be referred to as Subject 1 (S-1) and the homeowner would be referred to as Witness 1 (W-1). In this case, DoJ guidelines suggests that the homeowner is the VICTIM of the crime.

    How on earth?

    Nevermind!

  2. Yep, Indiana, much like Texas without all the big hats and shouting.

    We have a strong Castle doctrine based on the person not the house…and not necessarily my person, any person I think is being threatened with felony violence by anyone including law enforcement. That last bit added last year in response to a court ruling that put it in question so the legislature clarified. Citizens can defend themselves.

    This in no way gives criminals the right to use the law to commit crimes, but firmly enshrines our inalienable rights.

    Note to criminals, our doors are locked for your protection not ours.

  3. Also, no report on the respective colors of those involved so we already know what they were. And ‘it’s unclear if he will face charges’ means it was fully justified and no charges will be filed.

    Unless of course the prez says that could be my son and the homeowner acted stupidly, and the press goes full court on making the mayor fire the police chief and hire one who will so we can waste millions on a show trial and get Jessie and Al gainfully employed for about a year and a half.

  4. awwww, the poor “victim”, how is he ever going to finish turning his life around if he has no life left?
