If you haven’t yet, you need to read the latest post by my friend McQ at Blackfive as he tears Luke Mogelson of the New York Times a brand spanking new shiny asshole after Mogelson tries to revive the “veteran as a whack job” stereotype. I’d add something, but there’s no room and nothing more to be said.

High praise my friend … thanks for the link.
Strangely enough, Mogelson doesn’t even realize the irony of his missives.
Noted this Epic Fail on the part of the NYT just after the OBL May Day surprise. Thank you Mr. McQ, for the shredding.
Given the timing, the NYT may suffer another slump in sales. Unexpectedly.
I’m so incredibly sick of the “veteran as wacked out victim” meme. People used to ask me if I went to Iraq or Afghanistan and when I said “yeah” they’d get all concerned and ask me if I was “ok”.
I red some of the comments and I had to add my two cents, hope you like it…
Just reading the comments I am disheartened to see how myopic some of you are. I guess as the old saying goes, “it is best to remain silent and be thought a fool than open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.” I am no more qualified to scrutinize a surgeons ability as some of you are judge a soldier’s actions. Unfortunately, many of you can’t tell the difference between a sheepdog and a wolf. Don’t mistake all sheepdogs for wolves, because once you do that the wolves will not act like sheepdogs.
Jason, now you’ll have to go back and explain the Sheep-sheepdog-wolf relationship to the brain dead a$$holes that frequent the NYT blogs. Then again, don’t waste your time, they don’t get it, they’ll never get it.
I didn’t think that they would in the first place. I just wanted to throw it out there to confuse them.
