I don’t know, you tell me. Last night Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center called off his planned Koran-burning event sayng that he’d reached an agreement with the president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida that the location of a mosque planned near ground zero in New York would be changed. But now that imam says that he doesn’t know what Jones is talking about;
But Imam Muhammad Musri said he was clear on Thursday when he told Jones that he could only set up a meeting with planners of the New York City mosque, whose leader said he had spoken to neither the pastor nor Musri. Jones responded by opening the door, if only a crack, that he would go forward with his plan on Saturday.
“We are just really shocked,” Jones said of Musri. “He clearly, clearly lied to us.”
So I guess we’ll know by tomorrow what Jones plans but i suspect that Jones was relieved he found an excuse to not burn the Koran in public because of the massive opposition across the political spectrum. He just might not do anything since he’s found a way out.
In related news, the Westboro Church is pissed off because they burned a Koran two years ago and no onepaid any attention;

Well, now it’s being reported that several others, including the WBC inbreds are going to go through with it. Is it a stupid idea? Yeah, it is. Will the cave dwellers get outraged? Yep, but they would be anyway, according to Rauf, who said just yesterday that if the GZM is moved, there would be outrage and offense in the muslim world and attacks would increase. So, it boils down to “do as we say, or there will be outrage and attacks”.
So; do we just walk on eggshells for the rest of our existence, because we don’t want to do anything that would cause the cave dwellers to be outraged?
Me? I’m going to have an “all pork all day” day tomorrow. I’m going to start it off with a big plate of bacon for breakfast, followed by brats on the grill for lunch, possibly wrapped in Canadian bacon and breakfast bacon, and pork chops covered in bacon for dinner. All the while wearing my infidel hat.
Do I care what anyone else thinks, or if they will be offended or outraged by my hat???? Not so much.

I agree with you. Our way of life and theirs is going to have to clash right here in our streets, sometime. Not might, not could, but WILL. Where it starts really doesn’t matter that much.
I don’t like that idea, really. I generally don’t get in other people’s faces; but if our way of life is going to survive, we have to defend it; and particularly, HERE.
I agree with Old Trooper. No matter what happens Islam and America is going to come to blows at some point. I know many feel like the GZM is a slap in the face and one more trophy of their conquest. I dislike the idea of the Koran burning, but he’s a bit of an extremist… just like the terrorists of Islam, so it is quite hypocritical of the Muslim community to freak out of this.
As for all the soldiers downrange, it’s unfortunate that this may have an impact on them, but I really do not like seeing all the political figures using them as a leverage. I just got back from Iraq a month ago, and I would be pissed if Obama was using me as an excuse to infringe on his rights (that we protect) to practice his Freedom of speech/religion, because Obama wants to look good in the eyes of Muslims.
